Everyone needs an OLED, glossy or matte, IDC your preference, but you need an OLED.
Ive had both matte and glossy, i prefer glossy QDOLED because color vibrance, my WOLED was brighter, but no way in hell I'm ever going back to LCD for my main display.
What do you use if your gaming pc is also your workstation? Are oled still good?
the only reason why I but mini led rather than oled is the burn in.. Ain't no way there's exist a non burn in oled lol

@@7evive I placed the order, I was in purchase paralysis a best buy guy took another 50 off, at 750cad is was much easier to pull the plug. It's best panel right now . Any option with that panel at that price is good deal
Some matte displays are semi matte and look alot more like glossy color wise but I'm not sure about this one, just be aware that alot of matte monitors really aren't that bad and still give good colors@@7evive

Just get the Alienware DWF. It has an OLED, same response time RGB, 34 inch slight curve in higher resolution. And I got it for $699. And it’s still a SAMSUNG PANEL.
The Alienware DWF is a great QD-OLED monitor ! However it is using older QD-OLED panel, while this monitor is using next generation with better specs. If you want an ultrawide for better productivity and a more immersion, then 34 is good.

Sent my PG279QM for RMA and got this monitor to try it out and it's buggy as hell and alt-tabbing sucks. The actual performance of the panel is pretty good but it's just wild that simple stuff like alt-tabbing, turning my PC on, and playing certain games causes so many input warnings/popups, scaling issues, and weird stuff.
On the positive side, with color space on auto (clamps to sRGB), I was able to calibrate the monitor pretty well with my colorimeter and it looks great. I was also surprised to learn that OLED panel brightness hits different than LCD brightness. The G6 measures around 250 nits (with my calibration) but looks way brighter than my other monitor at 400 nits.
Probably going to return it though because it has some obnoxious issues.

I get what you mean about the OLED panel brightness looking brighter to other panels. I think it has something to do with the fact that it doesn't use a backlight.

I ended up buying a glossy monitor instead but other than the antiglare coating and the cheap power button I loved everything about this monitor. I felt incredibely premium.

i bought this and it's cool but i returned it because the subpixel layout makes text and lighter backgrounds look all green and purple otherwise pretty cool monitor but if you care about using this outside of gaming this will be a dealbreaker
Got the 4k version of this monitor for both pc and ps5 man it’s 🔥 way better then my aw3423dwf and the new dell 3225 which I returned. I suggest you get the 4k version you would go back to 1440p
I personally prefer 4K as well ! But 1440P for gaming is still very popular because most GPUs can't run 4K optimally, and since PC graphics have higher fidelity options and higher FPS than PS5, most prefer 1440P at max settings and/or higher FPS

I'm looking to buy my first OLED monitor and am really torn between this G6, the Alienware AW2725DF and the LG 27GS95QE-B.
If it's not asking too much, what would you (or anyone here) recommend for mixed use between office work (programming/spreadsheets), gaming and media comsumption?
I would personally lean towards LG 27GS95QE-B because I prefer the menu system. The stand on the G6 though is so much better, but it wouldn’t matter if you’re going to use a monitor arm anyway.
Alienware uses semi-gloss which looks the best, but it may not be the best for your setup. On my latest review, I compare a gloss and matte screen I would recommend checking it out (PG32UCDM REVIEW)
This is probably the cheapest oled in my area. Perfect size, perfect design, perfect resolution, perfect refresh rate. However the silver casing and the matte screen are a dealbreaker for me :(
For me it was either this or asus that was 240hz I choose this because silver is a nice coreallnd wont really matter much plus samsung makes killer displays

GSYNC compatible is the same as having full GSYNC. Doesnt need further support or update.
G-SYNC compatible is something NVIDIA has to officially certify, otherwise in the control panel it will say "detected display is not validated as G-SYNC compatible " it doesn't mean it wouldn't work. NVIDIA has a list they update for monitors they certify
@FIREWOLFTECH that's what mean. It's full GSYNC accept NVIDIA hasn't officially said "yea we certified this model" it's the same thing that's why nobody other than a few very expensive models get this useless certification from NVIDIA.
Yeah but full G-SYNC means it has a module. There’s G-SYNC ultimate, G-SYNC, and then G-SYNC COMPATIBLE.
Now I understand that it’s “useless” but then again, why would they add it on G80SD and not the G60SD. These are things from a marketing perspective you would want to have.
@FIREWOLFTECH not really, as long as it says gsync compatible you're good, it will work perfectly with nvidia cards. You can of course pay the premium for the module and certification but won't make a difference. It's like comparing windows pro plus or whatever the top version is to the cheapest version, won't make a difference in gaming performance. It's just like you said pure advertising tactics.
@@yzuniga13sa but it doesn't say G-Sync Compatible anywhere for the G60SD. The point is, having NVIDIA certify it does give you reassurance that your NVIDIA card will have no issues when you enable G-SYNC.
You just said "as long as it says gsync compatible you're good, it will work perfectly with nvidia cards"
Since this G60SD doesn't say or have that, a lot of consumers might gravitate to another monitor that is certified for G-SYNC

Good: They don't have all the TV bloat like the G8. Bad: They don't include speakers like the G8.
When I turn off the monitor, all my open programs shift to the other monitor unless i turn it back on. Anyway to prevent that to happen?
If you own a good PC this monitor is 🔥. But on console it’s just ok. You definitely want a good 4K monitor for console for the best fidelity.

The monitor does not turn on after I turn on my pc from sleep mode. I have to turn it on manually. Any idea how to fix that?
Your monitor no longer detects input, therefore, it turns off by itself.. Meaning that besides the computer, your monitor doesn't have a sleep feature

Its personal preference, the pg27aqdm is glossy so it looks better but suffers from light sources. The matte coating on this is easier to use throughout the day. They both have pros and cons, but I personally like the ASUS interface and gaming features

do you play any tac shooters with a static crosshair? i got my g60sd on sunday and my crosshairs have an unbearable red/green fray to them. when using a red or green crosshair sometimes it even causes it to look uneven to one side. I wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this or i just have a bad copy.

@@tobiaspabst5524 i see. I was expecting like the slight color on the edges of things like text but when its actively changing the crosshair length on certain lines, i wasnt sure since it didnt look like just fringing but extra length towards the center of my crosshair. Ty

I only had the monitor during my review period, but this monitor does has a 3 year burn in warranty if you ever experience it

I personally have not, doesn't make any noise to me. That said you're not alone, and that kind of coil whine can be on a sample to sample basis.
I think that may be coil whine caused by your GPU, not your monitor

Text quality looks like shiet...You should get back to LCD for 3 min to see how clear font can look like.
I'm not impressed with the text clarity either. BUT. for gaming. it's pretty stellar.

I'm confused. Can you help me choose the best option between Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD) or Asus ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG 26.5? I see that you had both Samsung and Asus, and I ask you to help me make the right choice. This is confusing to me. that Samsung has a matte screen, and that its stated brightness and gamma are lower than those of Asus, is this very critical or not noticeable? Asus impresses with its glossy finish, while Samsung has a very beautiful design. Is there a big difference in technology between Asus and Samsung or are they technologically the same? Both monitors are amazing and have pros and cons so it really depends on your own preferences. It's important to note that G6 uses Samsung QD-OLED while AQDM uses LG WOLED.
The first thing you really need to weigh is whether you want a matte display or glossy display. Because glossy is stunning and beautiful, and if you want that, then AQDM is better.
If you decide that you rather go with matte, then a better comparison would be G6 vs LG 27GS95QE. Both are amazing !

I had 3 Non glossy oled from asus. All of them With panel Problems and insane image retention.

Glossy just looks bloomy, blissful and I prefer that! The only use case I can think of for matte is if you are working in the office during the day. I don't know why companies are pushing these matte displays where clearly most of the users will be using them for gaming at night time

@@FIREWOLFTECH hmm when I got this monitor for some reason when I am web browsing it is laggy loads slow for some reason but my old monitor didn’t do this so I am confuse. Gaming works beautiful on it but web browsing some reason doesn’t.
@@Lemont-XYour monitor shouldn’t have an effect on your web browsing performance. However, I’d recommend checking your ram utilization on task manager to see if you’re just running low on ram.
