- Need an extra hand? Have some free time? Have some glue? If you answered yes to all 3 questions than have I got a video for you!
In this video I try out a technique of painting several thin coats of Elmer's Glue on your hand, to then be pleaded off like a glove, stuffed and painted, resulting in a surprisingly detailed, fake hand.
Will it work!? Can I stand to have sticky stuff on my hand for several hours? Will we solve the climate change crisis?! Some of these questions are about to be answered!

YESYESYESYES
ME OMG

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS
"I still hate it. I still absolutely hate it. But you know. Whatever" - me whenever anyone asks me about anything going on in my life 😂
HA!
Not gunna lie. Mostly here for Shigaraki cosplay.
Fine by me :) Honestly, yeah, this looks like a perfect application for that.
same
Same.
me too dude
Here for a Mezo Shoji cosplay project. Lmao.
This looks so fun, despite three hours.
Yeah, it was kinda fun, lol I'm sure it could be alot more fun if you were doing it with a friend/ had someone to hang out with. Could also be a fun activity to do with kids... But you would need some really amazingly patient children... Ha!
Can you see this guy trying to do a full manicure?😅😂🤣
Just Elmer's glue and TIME and PATIENCE
That moment of pride that showed on your face! AWESOME
I agree with you, I would have found it very unpleasant to have glue on my hand. But thanks for doing it for us, very interesting video!
Properly feeling inspired by this! So glad you gave it a second go!
I am glad as well. And I'm glad you feel inspired!
Doing the base layer blue will give the skin realistic luminance. That's a trick oil painters learned during the Renaissance.
Thanks for all your time and patience!🤣🤣🤣 Great video!
You are so underrated... this was awesome and hilarious 😂
I am so relieved to know someone else understands my hate for getting hands gross and sticky. I always get picked on for it.
I really really hope seeing a skillshare sponsor on your videos, you are too good and deserve it
Thanks! Maybe someday ;)
Oldschool tan rubber exam gloves stuffed with sawdust were my go-to when my kids were young for prop hands. Thanks.
Great video!
So glad you tried it so I don’t waste my time. I’m going to use the wax dipping method to make a Thing prop hand
You are so funny! Now whatcha going to do with One Hand??? 🖐🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is awesome🤩!!! I will do it too❤
It's really funny if you would have asked me I would have loved to do this. I love peeling elmer's glue off my hands hahahahaha.
I can't believe that worked!
"i'm here for shigaraki cosplay haha" you fools. i'm here for a yoshikage kira cosplay.
he saying: YEAHH, I MADE THIS WITH GLUEEE, oh, plus time and patience.
i was going to make paper mache hands for art....THANK U OMG THIS LOOKS SO MUCH EASIER i have elmers glueeee 😁😁😁
Ooohh, gettin' frisky with the Stay Puft-ted Marshmallow man, hmmmm?
hahahahahah!
You're adorable. And quite brave! 😉 My boys have the same kinda "Ew" thing and I've changed five hundred thousand diapers and washed barf out of my hair no fewer than 47 times so I'll pretty much touch anything. I am with you on the "sit around and wait...uncomfortably?!" nope factor.
Fun video! Thank you!
Omg who hasn't done this in the 80s and 90s as a kid. Except it was usually just part of the hand.
I know this is 7 months ago this was pretty coolto see but how long did it take to stiffen after it was painted and everything if you remember Thanks for sharing 📱🥁💖💫
Only a few hours I think. It actually got pretty brittle, (I stepped on it and broke the pinky... but it's glue, so I just glued it back on with more glue lol) but becomes flexabal again if it gets warm.
You're welcome, thanks for asking. That's the cool thing about smaller channels, even on older videos, it's pretty easy to catch new comments. :)
Wow, someone who has more acrylic paint than I do!
Outside on a good day...thats where I'd do this
i came across this video because i wanna make a fake ARM. im looking at my glue bottle like "will you be enough????"
What kind of paint did you use? I used acrylic paint and it dissolves/destroys the glue mold.
That's very odd, yeah they were just Americana acrylic paints.
Does the glove keep the general shape of the hand? For example, if I put the glue on my hand and let it dry with my fingers spread far apart, does it dry and keep that form after being stuffed, or would it be more like latex gloves(I would like to use this for some cosplay)? Thank you and keep up the good work!
Yeah, it more or less keeps the shape, but it is pretty malleable before it dries, so you can adjust its shape quite a bit after the fact. But if you held you hand in a claw shape for example, the glove would come off as a claw. Which should give a better results than if you molded it straight and then tried to bend it into a claw... however that would probably be challenging to stuff... oh, but you could try filling it with sand, and once it dries, just dump out the sand.
So for making a hand with the fingers spread as far a part as possible, you could hold you hand with your fingers stretched, but that would probably get pretty tiring, so you should be able to just hold your hand relaxed, and then after you stuff it, prop it up with something between the fingers to keep them stretched, and then once it fully dries, it'll hold that shape.
@@IamNickDClements Thank you so much for replying! I'll keep this all in mind for anything I may need it for in the future. Again thank you so much, you're a huge inspiration to me and I heavily appreciate you taking the time out of your day to reply :)
@@kercy.3490 Any time, happy to help! And thank you very much :)
Use a rubber glove and some spray foam. Spray the foam into the glove lightly as it expands, add more as necessary. You can also carve it after removing the glove when it dries.
This is awesome! Are you able to bend the fingers into different poses after?
Yeah, it's quite flexible when it first starts to dry. The trick is finding a way to keep it in the position you want until it fully dries. Could likely tape it in place with masking tape.
wow!!!
Wow that's amazing.
I found your channel, 'cause I was looking to make witch hands for my witch... wonder how it would last outside for the month of October... do you think Flex Seal Clear spray would protect it???
I'm glad that you didn't give up on the first try, you captured some amazing details and adding finger nails was a cool idea!
Thanks! - Yeah, it might. Or maybe even just a spray lacquer/clear coat.
@@IamNickDClements Thanks for getting back to me!
I wonder how much layer's- cause I tried it with school glue it's was clear and I did five layers I forgot the flower cause I tried doing Shigaraki's hands-
This is me every time I try doing this. Am literally laughing my ass off😂😂😂😂🌞
You should try this with rubber cement.
I did watch the whole vid and really injoyed it but how Many coats of glue did you use on your hand at the end when you succeeded on the clear hand
I'm pretty sure it was around 4-5 coats of glue.
Ok cool thank you!😃
Would Tacky Glue work the same, as long as its non-toxic
It should work, but tacky glue tends to be much more flexible, so it might not hold it's form very well.
Do you think you could do the same thing with mod podge?
I don't see why not, it's basically the same, a PVA glue. It often just has a more glossy finish than Elmer's. I think Elmer's is used for this because it's so easily accessible, but also, very few chemicals, kid safe, etc., so no real risk with having a large quantity, in contact with a large amount of skin, for an extended period of time.
@@IamNickDClements ok thanks! :D
Dude... Who else was slightly smitten at _slam_ "let's get to paintin'?"... That hair tho... Lol.
Wow... Just realized I'm commenting on a years old video... Again... Still stand by my comment... And its cringiness... O.o
@@lifestlc I still read em ;)
@@IamNickDClements well, then! Good morning!
How many layers did you do in total?
I think I stopped at 5 or 6.
Ouch! Ooooooo, ooooooooh!
Which exactly glue did you use? Elmer's glue "All"? Or something more specific? I also wanted do to some glue hands, but in my country there is so Elmer's glue in the drugstores ;_; So I have to buy it online- just to make sure I am not buying the wrong one!
Thank you so much and also for this great video
Yup, just a regular bottle of Elmer's Glue-All, but any PVA-based glue should work, so it's doesn't necessarily have to be name brand Elmer's, You your country has some generic brand of PVA glue, that should work just fine. And you can probably do it with other glues too, but PVA is flexible, which is what allows it to be pealed off, and it's also non-toxic so there is no worries about having it all over you hand.
I'm doing this with latex and watching this to pass time when I noticed that I didn't put Vaseline and it's further up my arm 😐 pray for me😓☹️
OH NO! 🙏
Can you use clear Elmer’s glue and get the same results?
I would think so. I wonder how clear it would be. It would be a bit harder to remove it without the powder step, but it could probably be done. Just have to wait longer for it to be really dry.
I wanna do projects with you... you're funny
Thanks!
I'd say we should do something, but I'm a horrible collaborator. I tried doing my first colab over 2 years ago now... I still haven't finished my part >.
@@IamNickDClements haha..I would help you motivate
Is anyone from the Czech Republic here? I need some advice if I can use Hercules glue.. :D
I'm gonna say that's a big NEGATIVE on that one. lol ... wait, are we talking Hercules Tacky Glue or Hercules PVC pipe cement? Cause if you cover your hand in PVC pipe cement... you're gonna have a bad time.
I'm here for himeno ghost hand
is it possible to like...pose it? old the fingers maybe?
Yup, it's very pliable when first talking it off, and for some time while it dries, so as long as you can keep it in the position you want it, maybe with tape, or even wire or foil, once it fully dries, it'll stay however you posed it.
@@IamNickDClements thanks for your help!
Lol too funny.
Imagine your boss calls you into work during this.
"An average Tuesday for you I see..."
I think mod podge could work too! I'm talking to my shiggy cosplayers 😏
But is it good for tattoo training?
Not really, once the Elmer's glue fully dries, it get pretty rigid and brittle. So it would just crack and shatter if you poke it. Maybe shortly after drying, when it's still somewhat flexible...
Pov: *you want to cosplay as shigaraki*
Wait, 21:50 IS THAT A RUBIK'S CUBE MADE WITH *_DICE??!!?!?!!‽_*
No, not as cool as a Rubik's cube, but a puzzle cube. it dissembles into 6 pieces that fit together to form the cube. There's a video about I on the channel. czcams.com/video/ChaJ2By6Iog/video.html
Water proof??
If you sprayed a clear coat on afterwords, that should make it at least water resistant. But on it's own, not so much. I just tested it, ran it under some water for a few seconds, and pretty much immediately it started getting soft.
man i would stuff cotton in a glove and make a hand dang . i feel bad for u man
Ha!
@@IamNickDClements lol
I have _GOT_ to try this as an experiment on kids of different ages... Muahahaha!! Torture! IDK who'd be more tortured, though... Still gotta try it...〜(꒪꒳꒪)〜

next time use Nair, it will completely remove hair. And next time use liquid latex and you literally peel it off. you can find it in craft or hardware stores.
Yay I'm famous, I'll try not to let it go to my head. 👌👊😳
When was it you asked for D - suggestions, I cant remember, I've re watched some of your latest vids, looked at comments, it's driving me crazy.
I haven't asked, but people are welcome to offer suggestions ;) ... I have saved a few... but I cant find where you suggested it, but I had it saved, and I swear I remember it! lol
I don’t have a blow dryer
Wouldn’t it be easier to dip ur hand in it? Or, dip a glove and let dry?
If you want to buy a gallon jug of Elmer's glue, yeah that would definitely be easier. (TKOR did it that way...) But if all you have is a small bottle, than painting it on it is. As for just using a glove... that could work, but really the whole point is that the glue captures all lines and wrinkles on your hand. So you get all that detail (albeit backwards) in the final hand.
@@IamNickDClements Yeah, I see your point. Good video! Fun to watch for sure.
Aqui esta el comentario en español q buscabas ahora like
Why couldn't you put glue on top of glove. It would be easier I think
The glue picks up all the tiny lines and details on your hand making it look quite realistic.
Who else is here from the king of randoms video
Wait, like the recent one where Calli dipped her hand in glue, but was to impatient to let it dry, and then started freaking out, and Nate was like totally over it!? lol Did CZcams recommend this video or something?
@@IamNickDClements no I just was really disappointed that she sidnt finish the glue glove so I searched up glove made out of glue and found this 😂
@@matt_kowa lol, cool! Yeah, I though that was a bit lame of her as well.
@@IamNickDClements haha ya when I saw the title I got rly happy because that sounded cool but got disappointed and saw yours and it was pretty cool
Now do your foot!
and end up on WikiFeet?! I think not! lol ;)

Woah, yeah, I kinda hear it, ha
I'm sitting here in my kitchen making a corpse head out of a styrofoam mannequin wig head. I've always been looking for ways to fabricate hands I might try the glue thing. Do you get involved in creating horror and I hate this word props?
Just use a latex glove.
