When a mouse has a botfly parasite in it. What happens to it afterwards? Does the botfly grow and eat the mouse's flesh until the mouse dies? Or does the botfly gets digested and disappears?
@@Sandz12 it turns into a fly and leaves the mouse on its own eventually once that happens. But it's painful for the animal.

Park there just jealous ! this guy is legit he's making money and the ones who criticize are the ones broke and leaving on mom's teet! plus if your like me I'd antagonize anyone if I'm bored.. but I'm pretty happy!
@James Bissett Watching this makes me want some pet mice! It was nuts, as Istarted to watch as I has a rat that came in during a heatwave {he is no longer here}....but mice are very sweet little things. I have a new respect for rats, too since watching this channel...they are clever for sure.
@James Bissett I was surprised to hear that Shawn imported some from England and they were flown over..That can't have been cheap. They were a luxury type , not the house mouse sort.

This trap is so nice, he should sell the 3d printer model files.
Also, some people complained about the thumbnail but I found it funny.
I didn't even notice the thumbnail. I saw, "Shawn Woods" and just click for my Monday engineering adventure.
Its a great print but 3d printers are notoriously cheap. 9/10 they'll find the file for free or something similar enough or if they're really good they'll just copy the design and make their own files. All Windows10 machines have 3D builder and slicing software is free so they only have to invest their time.
If he gains more popularity, he should continue it, besides that, it's only the thumbnail

Shawn...this trap is so well thought out and made, that it’s one of MY favorites. Self resetting, effective as a live catch or kill trap, simple moving parts, no batteries. The inventor thought it through!
If you want to talk about your favourite traps I'd suggest you do by categories: your favourite vintage trap, your favourite design, your favourite mechanism or even your favourite results and so on...

Zamsodine Ali make a simple round mold for it and use a thin wooden dowel to simulate the neck
Making “ballistic” gel is quite simple, just search for *diy ballistic gel* and I guarantee that you will find something
Friendly reminder that ballistic gel is not a substitute for flesh and cannot be used for testing and gauging effectiveness because that will not be anywhere close to accurate. For entertainment purposes, you can use any substance such as plush.

I have used drowning traps many times before and I had no clue that they were illegal here in Ireland . To be fair I live in Northern Ireland so I'm pretty sure the same laws don't apply but I am not sure

I have recently made a rolling log style mouse trap from junk I had laying around the house. I have caught one mouse so far and some animal outside ate it.
When mice 3 & 4 fell in at the same time, I about spit out my water! lol

YOU are one of the only true CZcams’s who always, in every video you are thanking everyone for watching and your not trying to fit into the community. Your videos are straight to the point and I love watching mice get trapped an then freaking out, like the one jumping a foot high trying to get out of the bucket in this video. I purchased the files from the inventor John. Not only do I feel it is deserving for this trap, but also to support trap inventors that send unique traps to Shawn. The more support they get, the more traps the send to Shawn. Cant wait to get it all printed

Make all the shock thumbnails you want. You’re doing God’s work. When rodents over run your home there’s a great deal of despair and helplessness. Especially when you are concerned for the safety of our babies, pets and elderly.

The one that the swede made with 4 holes is old as hell cause i saw it about 40 years ago when i was a kid and my grandparents had wood cubes with multiple holes in and only wire used to strangle when mouse chew over the string holding the trap active

I'd be happy to print for you... but for less than $300 you can buy your own Ender3 and print everything yourself. Less chance of losing traps in the mail or having them arrive broken.

Maybe you should use sulfur hexafluoride instead of water in the bucket. I think it's a more humane way to die from lack of oxygen than from exhaustion. An even better way to die would be helium. It can be absorbed by the blood cells like the oxygen molecule. Because the body cannot process helium, the mice pass out and die without breathing difficulties due to the normal CO2 concentration. But unlike sulfur hexafluoride, helium is less dense than air and would not stay on the bottom of the bucket.

Apparently bot fly parasites normally don’t kill the host, FWIW. They’re gross, but the mice usually heal.
The trigger is a great addition to the plank-style trap.

Great video and trap. I got the dead fall traps due to your video on it. It's so simple and works well in the feed room at the ranch.
The taller container was a solid call.
In earlier videos involving repeating live-catch traps, you used to explain the importance of checking and emptying the trap regularly, to prevent the mice from cannibalizing each other. Might be a good idea to include that reminder again. Enjoying the channel.

I’ve bought a couple nose traps from places you’ve mentioned. I have 1 rolling log, and 2 walk the planks. Although I love walk the plank, I feel that as mouse falls in sometimes he wipes the bait off into the tub I use with water or antifreeze in winter. I set it up inside my RV each winter and summer when we’re not there. In 2017 I set up with one bucket with antifreeze for the winters and caught 22 mice over the winter in the antifreeze. So it definitely works good

The worst thing about thumbnails like that is while it will annoy some people (and I absolutely get why), it works. There is a reason why people do that stuff.
Have you tried the balloon trap? Round bucket filled with water. Balloon inflated to diameter of bucket and inserted into bucket. Bait (looked like cracked corn perhaps) poured into the crevice between balloon and bucket. plank added to bucket. Mice eat the bait, confidence seems to grow, more join in. Then the balloon finally fails, the mice all fall into the bucket. Saw a video on Facebook and it looked Asian
You'd think the governor of mouseland would put out a Public Service Announcement to stay away from Shawn Woods' house. Higher fatality rate there than Omaha Beach.
The bucket looked fogged up with all those mice in it. If you’re going to use it as a live-catch trap, it would be good to make some air holes near the top of the bucket.
I wish I had deer mice around they're the cutest little rodents in my book. Also the castle mouse trap looked cool af lol.
