Malls were popular in the 70s and 80s as a hub for communities to meet. However there has been a slow decline in people going to malls to socialise / shop as the rise of online shopping continues. Depending on where you are in the world some may still very active while others are in decline or close down. The ones in decline are known as “Dead malls”. Dead malls have a small cult following as they are a small piece of when times were different.

1:55 - The vast majority of "motion sensors" aren't actually _motion_ sensors, they're differential temperature sensors. In other words, they'll detect if something hot appears in front of a colder background (or vice versa), so they would work fine with a conveyor belt. Also, it's trivial to program the controller so that "after activating the motor, wait 10 seconds before checking the sensor again", so any type of sensor could work, really. Given the "tunnel" design, the most reliable type here would probably be a break beam sensor.
From an electronic point of view, these things are really easy to design and program. It's much harder to design and build a fully automated mousetrap that doesn't rely on motors and sensors, and does it job using just gravity and finely-balanced mechanisms.

Instead of putting water in your large bucket traps, try this: place a small bowl with 3 or 4 tbls of baking soda into the trap. Just
before deploying the trap pour vinegar into the bowl. CO 2 will be generated, displacing the O 2. Cover most of the top of the trap. The result will nice dry dispatched mice.
