    This guy does the best reviews of anyone on youtube. He hits all marks, just when you want to know about something he hones in on it and answers all questions you might have. Great review. That's a real nice truck, love the interior on the first truck so much. The Ram's are really best truck now, I've noticed the engineering is better than all other trucks.

    I have a 2015 3500 Longhorn 6.4L and it has become my favorite truck ever. I have had diesel 3500s to gas 1500. The Ram Longhorn 6.4L is the best pulling/riding truck I have owned. I pull a 30 foot tow hauler that weighs over 11K when loaded. The Ram pulls and does not bog down when passing. The mileage is good too. I feel anyone shopping for a used or new truck to 'pull' will not be disappointed with a Ram 6.4L 2500 or 3500.

      Richard West me too considering the options you can get the value is definitely RAM a friend just bought a 19 1500 RAM I drove that and I was impressed. You can have the option of ordering exactly what you want and can still negotiate the price point GM on the other hand trying to order and option a truck is tricky because you have to get certain packages I looked into that and my local GM guy was very fussy about negotiating not my local RAM dealer just food for thought.

    I've said it before and I'll say it again the lone Star package equipped heavy duty trucks are a great bargain and I would totally drop the money for one of those and then spend 1002 1500 on aftermarket leather seats if I wanted that. They're so nicely equipped and the capability that 6.4 hemi brings with towing and the new 8spd transmission is unbelievable.

    EXCELLENT VIDEO AND COMMENTS, especially gas powered engines being overlooked.
    Here in Canada diesel fuel is way more costly then gas!
    I was earlier this year purchasing the ram 1500 rebel. Decided not to because the ram box option is not available in the crew cab with the six foot four inch bed.
    I have decided to place order for the ram power wagon for the reason mentioned earlier, also i need greater off road capacity then the rebel.
    I am of the old school prefer the floor shift knob for four wheel drive over the knob shift.
    The only towing is for a atv and small boat.

  • @justpalms9978
    @justpalms9978 Před 2 lety

    Defensive, that's a great word to explain the gas guys who tow.
    I've got a tree business and needed a new truck a few years ago. Coming from a dirty max,I couldn't think to spend what a new diesel cost, so I got a 2500 6.4 LB CC 4.30. It's great for towing up to like 8000 pounds day in day out. It really struggles on anything over 10k. I'm in Florida with flat land, I couldn't even imagine towing a travel trailer north of 10k on a 2000 mile trip.
    I just towed my dump trailer from Tampa to Orlando, 5500 pounds. Total pig on the way out, picked up mini loader adding another 3000. Truck was towing like I had a boat anchor behind me.
    I had enough! Bit the bullet for a 2021 3500 LB CC with HO Cummins/Aisin. Now we're towing like a boss, one week in and I've completely forgot about the price.

    I have been looking at the ram 2500 6.4 hemi as a tow vehicle.. I only tow out travel trailer (31.5 feet) for 6 or 7 family trips a year. The model is a 27 footer and I learned the hard way that was only the cabin length. Wish I found you sooner! Anyway, long and short I can see I am in the 3/4 range now for trucks. I like the 2019 Ram 2500 with the 6.4 hemi. The dry weight is 6500 lbs. I can see the family doing at least one long haul family vacation per year in addition to weekend trips. Do you feel the torque and HP can easily accommodate towing the new family beast of a trailer, and/or do you think I should be angling for a different tow vehicle. Any thoughts would be great.

    I have to agree, I don’t like a sunroof, it took me forever to find a truck that does not come with the sunroof living in Texas it seems like everybody wants one, but it’s counterintuitive but it’s so bloody hot here you go enjoy it, and this is just another thing to break and leak. Another thing my 2018 that I’ve mentioned before has the sport appearance package on it and mine came with the factory fender flares the plastic pieces you’re talking about around the wheel wells and it was only a few short months ago that you couldn’t even get the 12 inch screen and less you went to a 1500 ram, the 8.4 Uconnect which I have in my truck is awesome. I don’t think that the $750 price tag to have navigation put in your vehicle is worth that money could be spent better elsewhere, because you can use CarPlay and use your phone as navigation to project it onto the 8.4 Uconnect screen so for my money The navigation is not worth it great video

    • @BigTruckBigRV
      @BigTruckBigRV  Před 5 lety +1

      I don't actually use my navigate for general navigation. I use it to show my a reference point of where I am in conjunction to the larger map. So I use my phone for actual navigation, but then have the map up on my vehicle to show specifically in a city where I'm at. That helps immensely when traveling.

Will be pulling 5th rv at approx 20000lbs loaded . As a UK resident brands mean nothing to me but i seem to have narrowed it down to Ram 3500 or Ford 450 both DRW this is based on internet chatter good & bad . plus both can do the job, intending to tour for two years then import truck back to the UK .

The amount of work and complexity in being able to provide you satellite navigation, knowing every street and every address in the world is orders of magnitude more difficult to achieve than say.... a Cummins Diesel engine. But you want it for free. Go build your own GPS system complete with every inch of the earth mapped out and all the algorithms involved in routing.... tell me how much it costs .

Lower, often much lower MSRP's AND there was a short window when they had amazing incentives, low interest rates or even zero...and drum roll, once Covid hit and chip shortages etc., around Mid 2021, this truck you are driving? A dealer would have given you MORE than you paid for it in trade or even outright purchase with 20K miles on it... They were marking new ones up by five to eight thousand above MSRP in some places on just a standard regular unit. Boy the world has changed.

      I used to think that... until you drive across Nevada, Utah, South Dakota, Wyoming, Alaska, etc... as soon as your service fades, your ability to deviate or avoid traffic drops to zero. A cool feature of the U-Connect on my Ram is that it will intelligently route differently if I have a trailer connected. If I'm driving truck-only, it will do some shortcuts that are usually fine. If I have the RV on, it skips that and sticks to freeways. With my previous Chevy, both Apple Maps and Google Maps have routed me over 1-lane "trails" that were literally over the top of hillsides to save 30 seconds of travel time.
      U Connect also warns of speed limits (when exceeding) and it gets the traffic updates like everything else does. You just have to buy the map updates every couple of years, it's cheap, $99 or something like that.

They got me $18k off the sticker on the trim level I wanted and USAA also does an automatic $1,000 grant for buying a Ram versus the Chevy or Ford (USAA prefers to finance and insure the Rams over the others). All I did was show up and sign the paperwork. USAA pulled my down payment from my bank account there.

      Yep, and Dillon also has a GM dealership, so I'm vacillating between the 2, but I'll be driving my leased truck up to Boise late summer and then continue on to OR and WA for a much needed vacation!

    Ram interior is best in it's class, no one comes even close. But, reliability, is another question.

    Height needs increased trucks shouldn’t be low riders

    You missed one huge con...teeny weeny gas tank for a terrible mpg heavy trailer tow vehicle. I won't even look at a truck that won't get over 300 miles towing on a tank of gas as that is the distance I typically like to tow in a single day. This truck would have to get roughly 10 mpg with a 8,000-10,000 lb trailer for that to happen and I think that is an optimistic number. The gas F250 has a 48 gallon fuel tank.

    Are you more worried about towing or how the truck looks. Overpriced and unnecessary to buy

    I'm beginning to think FCA stands for Feminine Cars in America. Having a gear shift that looks like a washing machine controller is just going too far. At least the diesel still has a column shift.

      I love mine. Why have a shift on the column or tie up console space when all you are controlling is an electronic transmission.
