- Modeling & animating 2 pulleys with Timing Belt in 3ds Max.
In part 2 will add third pulley.

in 10 minutes you managed to take the entirety of the confidence that i had in my modeling
abilities and threw them in the trash, thank you sir for this lesson on humility and thank you for an amazing tutorial! :D
I usually don't like tutorials with no verbal instruction, but this one was great! Thanks for the info I learned a lot.
I actually had no issues following what he was doing and consider this an excellent tutorial.
this is amazing training so far sir on the internet.
Who is watching in December-31-2022.
Such a great tutorial
this is the best tutorial for gear in 3ds max :):)
thank you sir, and indeed a great taste in music you have
I'm quite the beginner, im studying for Game Artist and this helped me out a lot! I'm making an assembly line for a project and this teached me how to rotate the cylinders and the tire.
Great Vid man!! Good work!
wow..
awesome work
perfect
It is not impossible, and the music makes it epic. It actually is quite easy to understand.
Thansk for sharing the tutorial!
Pessoal, é só dar pausa e observar atentamente como ele procede! Caraca, eu fui seguindo as etapas e ficou muito legal! Tks very much 3HadiD!
awesome man
besttttttttttttt tutorial! thank you frend
Cool! Thanks alot for the tut! :)
Nice work
thanks for the tutorial!
BTW I would not call this "showing off", he is sharing valuable information with us for free.
this is how you learn...... visual dont slow down just keep going.
Great tutorial, what software did you use to record the whole process on screen?
To measure the belt path look at 4:15 in video(select shape, utilities, measure tab, look length down)
You must measure the belt path then divide it by 12.56
just so u know, if u have two different sized circles, cutting them both in half and connecting them wont give u tangent lines
You should add an option in the youtube video settings to be able to slow down the video. newbies would want to see it in slow motion. other than that great tut!
probably the fastest tutorial ever lol
Nice workflow! Did you manage to simulate a rubber band with cloth?
Have you got any experience with exporting this animation into Unreal Engine? I mean.. the basic rotation is no problem, but the PathDeformBinding modifier is an issue.
music maybe "ready 4 war" "daniz"
+3HadiD
Thank you for tutor. Can you help me? I am making a tractor truck. My track doesnt move to path. How i can fix it? Sceen at link.

What about to animate gears with PhisX?
Example take the big gear= 120 *3.14 /30 =12.56
yeah you are right how could you call this video is part of tutorial maybe a demo how to make he let us watch but i don't think considered a tutorial,to fast if someone watch this like a new beginning he cannot copy the procedures
how do you determine the number of segments for the belt?
Belt Segments = Belt length / Belt Teeth width
Belt Teeth width = Gear circumference / Gear Sides
Belt Teeth width = 40 * 2 * 3.14 / 20 = 12.56
Belt Segments = Belt length / Belt Teeth width
Belt Segments = 616.812 / 12.56 = 49
distance between gear teeth= diameter * 3.14 / gear sides
really appreciate your tutor, but one thing i strongly confused about is how maya do the thing as max's path deformer?
i tried to use motion path then use flow path object, but all the attempts r failed,
on max everything looks so easy and smoothly,
is maya really so weak on this kind of thing?
It's an alright video as a concept. Though, it's not something that can easily be applied to anything that isn't that particular set of gears and belt. The amount of precision it appears to need would make it pointless for any other sort of gear system. Also, I gotta mention that, even when on 720p, I can hardly make out anything going on in the video. Had to pause and look over parts multiple times before I could figure out what was being done.
Absolutely true
Make that video again. Maybe Normal Speed will help. Thx
This isn't for beginners, too many aspects of max come in to play for one to simply absorb. Ofcourse you could try to follow it along but i don't know if it would make great sense. The modeling, the path deformer, the wireparameters and the animation are all subobjects wich could be best learned seperately.
Can you achive this precision in maya or would i need to work in autocad ?
Autocad is more Accurate.
Thanks but i imagine solid works is best for thi type of work.
exactly , solid work is the best pro for mechanics models
BSR screen recorder 5
pake software apa ya ?
12.56 = the distance between gear teeth
I used this tutorial to create a track for a snowmobile. It works great as long as the model travels along the x axis. As soon as the vehicle deviates from the x axis the track "explodes". Not sure how to fix this. Does anyone have any ideas?
hi
to solve this problem , you must create a new dummy , then link to it the another 2 dummies and the belt [box01] and the shape [Circle01] , then you can animate the new dummy on any axis without problems .
@@3HadiD I think I get what you are saying but not 100%. As soon as I linked the belt to a dummy instead of the vehicle frame it seems my problem partially went away. I think I will need to re-watch the video keeping in mind what you just wrote and try again. Thanks for your help!
song name pls=)
I cant join between the big Cird and small Cird. How it join?
click on the first vertex and drag to the next vertex
Yes sir, I did as you said. Even then I couldn't. I mean, has it anything differences purpose between several versions . Because I have "Autodesk 3ds Max 2010".
can you please tell me how the fuck did you connect those to circles at 0:37 ? i selected what's remaining, and i hit connect after, i grab the lower part of the left thingy, move the cursor to the lower part of the right thingy, and then nothing happens. did i do something wrong? should i first attach the 2 circles or idk, i'm going mad over here
click on the first vertex and drag to the next vertex
Damn, i taught this was Mass fx tut..,.
Do you always use the same song? lol
Yea you've got a point. I know exactly what's going on, but I've been doing 3D for a while. Hardly a 'tutorial'.
Very misleading title
Just download the video and play in VLC Player and reduce the playback speed.
pause
`darkkkkkkkkkkkkkk and drunk
If anybody wants the song just message me since this guy obviously thinks it's okay to ignore peoples requests ;)
El profesor mudo y la música que no pinta nada. Esto mas que una tuto es una exhibición.
Maybe you should not be watching advanced tutorials like this one. I started with the simple ones and worked my way up. And I am talking about years of using max before you get even a little comfortable with it IMO.
cant see a thing you are too fast
You should turn off the music and stop being afraid of explaining what you are doing. Please relabel your title as well as this is not a tutorial.
This is a great tutorial actually, it showed me exactly what I wanted to do. Plus, you shouldn't complain about free stuff.
tutorial sucks. You went too fast and nothing more annoying than just music playing. Its always better to talk because subtitles are always getting in the way if you are trying to find something and not to mention the viewer has a better idea of whats going on.
horrid music.
