    You must measure the belt path then divide it by 12.56

    You should add an option in the youtube video settings to be able to slow down the video. newbies would want to see it in slow motion. other than that great tut!

    how do you determine the number of segments for the belt?

    • @3HadiD
      @3HadiD  Před 10 lety +5

      Belt Segments = Belt length / Belt Teeth width
      Belt Teeth width = Gear circumference / Gear Sides
      Belt Teeth width = 40 * 2 * 3.14 / 20 = 12.56
      Belt Segments = Belt length / Belt Teeth width
      Belt Segments = 616.812 / 12.56 = 49

  • @3HadiD
    @3HadiD  Před 11 lety

    distance between gear teeth= diameter * 3.14 / gear sides

    really appreciate your tutor,but one thing i strongly confused about is how maya do the thing as max's path deformer?
    i tried to use motion path then use flow path object, but all the attempts r failed,
    on max everything looks so easy and smoothly,
    is maya really so weak on this kind of thing?

  • @Terallis
    @Terallis Před 8 lety +2

    It's an alright video as a concept. Though, it's not something that can easily be applied to anything that isn't that particular set of gears and belt. The amount of precision it appears to need would make it pointless for any other sort of gear system. Also, I gotta mention that, even when on 720p, I can hardly make out anything going on in the video. Had to pause and look over parts multiple times before I could figure out what was being done.

  • @KhataarFelMataar
    @KhataarFelMataar Před 11 lety

    This isn't for beginners, too many aspects of max come in to play for one to simply absorb. Ofcourse you could try to follow it along but i don't know if it would make great sense. The modeling, the path deformer, the wireparameters and the animation are all subobjects wich could be best learned seperately.

    I used this tutorial to create a track for a snowmobile. It works great as long as the model travels along the x axis. As soon as the vehicle deviates from the x axis the track "explodes". Not sure how to fix this. Does anyone have any ideas?

    • @3HadiD
      @3HadiD  Před 4 lety +1

      hi
      to solve this problem , you must create a new dummy , then link to it the another 2 dummies and the belt [box01] and the shape [Circle01] , then you can animate the new dummy on any axis without problems .

    • @pat5225
      @pat5225 Před 4 lety

      @@3HadiD I think I get what you are saying but not 100%. As soon as I linked the belt to a dummy instead of the vehicle frame it seems my problem partially went away. I think I will need to re-watch the video keeping in mind what you just wrote and try again. Thanks for your help!
