    Romans 1:26-27
For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

This means they, the UMC, no longer consider Lord Jesus Christ, the Word of God made flesh. If they did, they would have to say that those who practice what God (through the Word of God, Lord Jesus) told Moses was abominable is sinful and have no place in the church's leadership. This is part of the great falling away that was promised; witness it, and know where we are with respect to the return of Christ.

Lol, yes. And I hope that this development will serve as a warning to all aspiring do-gooders out there who might hold the delusion that the Nazarene has called them to renew His church and win souls from the Adversary. Don't bother. Christ may win a skirmish or two, but Satan will win the war. Any apparent good you might accomplish will inevitably be subverted by Lord Satan to serve a greater evil which you cannot comprehend. Hail Satan! 🤘

It's true, God loves all and doesn't want anyone to perish but that doesn't mean you keep living your way according to your creed. It's not about catering to the culture. The Bible warned about these times and they are here. ‭II Timothy 4:3-4
[3] For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; [4] and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

@BrianOmegaWolf I would pray and love the person. Show them the truth and help them to stop listening to the lies. Gods ways are perfect. At the end of it all God will judge each one of us according to His standards. We can either choose Him and His ways or we choose our own.

@BrianOmegaWolf continuing to live a life of sin is not repentance. It's important to test everything back to God's ways and His truth. Not our own truth. ‭Proverbs 3:5-7
[5] Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; [6] In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. [7] Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.

Wrong, sexual attraction may be reflexive, but actually acting on it is a choice, always has been. Chosing sin and being unrepentant of it is rejecting Christ. It's that simple. Don't deceive yourself with the wisdom of your own heart.

There are some key Bible verses about homosexuality to understand the biblical view of gay relations. The most commonly quoted Bible verses are Leviticus 18:22 and Leviticus 20:13, which state that it is an abomination for a man to lie with another man as he would with a woman. In Romans 1:26-27, Apostle Paul says that homosexuality is contrary to God's natural order and results from rejecting God. Additionally, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 lists homosexuality as one of the sins that will prevent someone from entering the Kingdom of God. While the Bible is clear in its view of homosexuality, it is essential to remember that God loves all of his creation and offers forgiveness to those who repent and turn away from their sins.
Top 10 Bible Verses about Homosexuality
Leviticus 18:22 ~ You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.
Leviticus 20:13 ~ If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.
Jude 1:7 ~ Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
Romans 1:26-28 ~ For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.
Genesis 2:24 - Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
Mark 10:6-9 ~ But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Timothy 1:8-11 ESV - Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.
1 Corinthians 7:2 - But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.
