Today I installed the 60mm Wheel Studs from Rennline on my 1998 Porsche Boxster 986. They make some really cool products and I have been eyeing this for a while to help complete the look of my wheels.

There is a aluminum stud tool inside your trunk toolkit to hold the tire on for you so you can line them up. 👍🏻

i have seen quite a few videos on the stud conversion. what i found most helpful was the tips at the end. i want to do this to my 135i but am having a hard time figuring out the length to make sure they are flush like how yours turned out. for instance if the wheels are 1/2" wider in the rear, do you have to slightly longer ones than the front. i think i will contact a vendor like motorsports or redline and see if they can help. maybe measure the depth of the lug nut hole on the wheel with a tape measure and convert to mm.
Yes vendors are usually pretty good at that!
Hi Aaron. Good job have been thinking about getting these myself. Just noticed on the video that those studs look really long as they protrude quite a bit through the lug nuts, I could be wrong? Mick 👍🍻
+Michael Kane they are actually a perfect fit for my spacers and wheel combination. They don’t stick out past the wheel but there is still enough thread for the nuts.
I never really thought about the loctite blue melting, but it hasn't for me even after a dozen track days.

Why?
IMHO, considerably easier than trying to line up a wheel + spacer + hub holes with a stud bolt while holding everything up.

So I take it it's mainly cosmetics. I think back in the days that's what 911s used. Saying it's not gonna last was a turn off ,I think I will stick to lugs since they are permanent
