I agree, but I believe it started with her parents. They were allowing her to do things that they knew damn well would end badly or traumatize her. Like why is she being allowed to spend so much time with R Kelly, fake the paperwork so they could get married. I think her uncle got greedy and he convinced her parents to allow stuff they never would’ve if she wasn’t “Aaliyah” and was just a regular 16 year old. Aaliyah was destined to be an amazing icon/legend and it’s so hard to believe those people she was with, that she trusted them. They knew the plane was too small and all that equipment and themselves was in harms way getting on that plane. Lenny sent a jet for Aaliyah but Hype’s disgusting a** took it, if he hadn’t been greedy Aaliyah would be alive!!

I even remember Mary J saying on 106 that her death was a murder which gave me chills. I'm glad you mentioned the sudden deaths of Biggie, Tupac, Left Eye, and Selena. Now that I'm 36, all I can think about is how these artists were seen in the music industry and by their music labels, just money making machines with no regard to them being human. What makes me sad is that when I see footage of Aaliyah and other artists who passed, my heart hurts at the amazing personalities and passion they left in their music and craft, something we won't ever see again. Aaliyah was young, sweet, and wanted to make everyone else happy. Aaliyah needed someone there to stand up for her, and to tell Hype that we are not spending any more money, and we are not going to the Bahamas. In life people will take advantage of you, if you don’t have anyone to stand up for yourself, or if you don’t stand up for yourself. Being that I knew Aaliyah , we went to school together here in Detroit, she didn’t have a diva bone in her body. Incredibly humble, and down to earth. She was one of us , so when she died , it hit so close to home. She did not like little planes, I can’t find the interview with rashad ( her brother) but b4 they left Miami, she told him the plane was small and she was scared. What’s crazy is during the time of this video her mom was back in New York tending to her dad whom had just had a stroke. Usually they all traveled together. She hated little planes, and I just wish she would have listened to her intuition. It’s definitely not her fault , those shots could have been done in Miami or Fort Lauderdale, plenty of Luxury yachts and catamaran in Miami also. Sounds like hype added all this travel to drive up cost then be skimpy on the travel budget , maybe to save money, prob never know. But it all could have been different had he just got his shots done in Miami. Aaliyah hated little planes

We have to remember that all humans are subject to Murphy's Law of: "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong." Celebrities are human just like you are and the universe isn't partial to anyone. She could've just as easily perished in an automobile, bus, or a flight unrelated to business! All the speculation and baseless theories won't change what happened. Nobody wants to remember that the plane was overloaded with too much weight that was unevenly distributed. Nobody wanted to leave behind their precious belongings or take separate flights. It's alleged that the pilot and baggage handlers complained about the the weight overage. It's likely that Aaliyah's entourage forced the flight to go forward. Folks tainting her memory with National Enquirer type gossip won't change the decisions made!
I'm surprised no one includes the creators of the song in the blame game, given that if the song hadn't been created there wouldn't have been a need for a video. Maybe they made the song, so Hype Williams could make the video, so the plan to harm or sacrifice Aaliyah could be carried out on behalf of the boogie man! 🙄 Was Static Major taken out later to keep the secret buried! 😲

Anytime I hear anything about Aaliyah and this preplanned "accident" I for one get sick to my stomach and so deeply saddened. Everyone around her whether they were in her immediate circle or just people she worked with and considered to be friends based off of the type of energy and purity that she had in her heart completely FAILED HER. She genuinely loved these people and I believe the ones on the plane that passed along with her were honestly the only ones who actually really loved her. They were her SOUL FAMILY. The ones that she left behind here who haven't stepped forward and spoke on the truth were the ones around her who I would call ENERGY VAMPIRES. They didn't love her enough to make sure that she was fully protected. They didn't love her enough to step in on her behalf and confront Barry or whomever made the plans for her to go to the Bahamas when she could of easily remained in MIAMI and did the same water scenes virtually by green screen! It MAKES NO SENSE!! I feel that there were folks around her, men included, who were lowkey jealous of her - not only her being as beautiful as she was but because of her LIGHT and her genuinely kind nature! They took that as a sign of her being naive! Her parents failed her by allowing her to be around somebody who had a long rap sheet of sexually abusing and lusting after UNDERAGE GIRLS long before Aaliyah even really came along and they STILL let her go with them!! Her Uncle didn't intervene and neither did her parents! It's too many secrets that they've kept! I so pray that Aaliyah has found some peace in her new life with her family, the ones who went with her and that in this physical realm she'll get justice and SOON!

Wow! I really think Hype is the smoking gun here. If Aaliyah was his truly his friend of 6 years, why wouldn’t he have made sure she got a safe flight back. Isn’t that what friends would do?! It’s insane that Lenny Kravitz felt he had to step in. It would be interesting to learn more about just how Kravitz got word of this situation. There’s a story there too. I get tired of this whole “respect her memory” thing that keeps getting pushed when there does seem to be a chance of foul play. It seems worth investigating to me!

Aaliyah was pure hearted and there were wicked people around her. I feel like her spirit was genuine, but the people around her weren't. All I know is she definitely left an impression on our hearts and we still love her till this day. As far as this being an "accident" I don't believe that for a second. I remember watching her last interview on 106 N Park and she had on all white looking peaceful. Now all these wicked people will face the consequences of their actions. Keep talking about it bro because she was a loving person and she deserves justice as well as the other people that are no longer with us in this physical realm. The fact that Hype Williams isn't saying anything about someone he considered a friend of 6 years is telling of his character. Her mother was dead ass wrong for talking her into working with him after knowing he still worked with R. Kelly and the mother supposedly still had a relationship with the pedophile R. Kelly. Nobody took up for Aaliyah. So we have to. They didn't do anything, but use this young lady and we should be feed up with this.

I have to say, the day I heard that Aaliyah passed, you would think I lost a family member. I grieved her like I knew her personally. My mother could tell that something was not right with me. I grew up listening to her and admiring her. I think about how where she would be right not in her career if she were still alive. And the other people who died along with her, man. May all of their souls rest in eternal peace. I’ll leave with this comment: if anyone played any evil part in the passing of these individuals that have left this world, let me just say that God is in control.

Aaliyah was my fellow Detroiter and I always thought it was cool that we grew up around the same neighborhood. Aaliyah's death never ever ever made sense to me, and I find it hard to believe the narrative that they tried to paint. "The luggage must go and we must go"???? like that doesn't even make sense. I don't think those beautiful souls had any knowledge of the weight of that plane. It will be 21 years this summer and yet there are still soooo many unanswered questions and its not right. Fatima gave an interview that was quickly taken down. When people mention what she said, no one believes it because it was removed so fast. Fatima stated that Aaliyah received a phone call and the person said that Dame was in the hospital and wasn’t doing well. Aaliyah being worried, said she needed to leave immediately. They packed all the equipment, and were told it was too much weight. Aaliyah didn’t want to fly due to the weight and asked if she could come back to get the equipment, they told her no she had to take it all right then or they couldn’t get it back. Aaliyah stated she did not want to fly on that plane, someone gave her some type of medicine which knocked her out. Someone had to carry her on the plane because she was so out of it. When Aaliyah was found after the crash they said she was still buckled in her seat, bent over, like she was sleeping. Come to find out after all that, Dame wasn’t in the hospital at all and nothing was wrong with him. No one knows who made the call to Aaliyah and the story was quickly removed from the news after she stated the information.

Her death was/is so tragic. It happened a few weeks before 911, so it was just surreal that these tragedies occurred so close to one another. I'm guessing Hype has been so silent, because he's been instructed to. I'm sure he hired a good counsel team and as their client he followed the advice they gave him. Probably, like not showing up in court. As fans, we would much rather have had her still here to continue to experience her gift, but I'm glad the the RTB video was released. It was beautiful, she was beautiful. Hype may have looked at it as paying homage to her and all the people that died, and not just "I want to put this video out I worked hard on in spite of the tragedy that happened."

Aaliyah was a good soul and The Almighty removed her from the earth before the music biz could corrupt her the way it does. Aaliyah was aligned for "next level" success...which comes with a price. In my personal opinion Aaliyah did NOT want to pay that price and had to pay another price. The music biz is not what people think it is. So my personal opinion is The Almighty made the choice and spared her from going through more than she already had in her short life. So even though they took her body, they NEVER took her soul, which is a blessing.

But the best way to murder someone is to make it look like an accident and if said accident takes place in the tropics their forensics capabilities are not as good as the USA.
