Aaliyah Mother silence is powerful she never spoke ill on R kelly nor did her husband nor did her son so something ain't adding up how can you have a trial about Aaliyah and none of her family is involved there is footage of Aaliyah saying her and R kelly was never married some of them ppl are lieing on Aaliyah and she ain't even here to defend herself oh how I wish Aaliyah was here and she would had told her own story there is footage out of Aaliyah saying that she wasn't married to R kelly and it wasn't true I said it before I say it again this was a publicity stunt to sell the album.

I know losing a child is terrible, but we have to be honest and say some of the things Aaliyah's parents allowed was questionable.

To this day, I refuse to believe that Aaliyah’s folks had no clue as to what was going on when it went on. Mr. Kelly had a long-running stigma about what he did in plain sight and they (Aaliyah’s parents, AND Barry) purposely turned a “blind eye” and only stepped in when the 💩 was hitting the fan. I just feel for Aaliyah and Rashad. I don’t trust Barry, Diane, or her father, to be honest.

4:47 I forget where I read this, but I saw something that said the marriage wasn't annulled until months later. It said her mother knew right away about the marriage but was keeping it under the radar for several reasons (one being Aaliyah's career), and eventually her dad stepped in to push along the divorce. Has anyone else read this too?
Update: I’m thinking maybe some of the delay was to draft and finalize the settlement and NDA with R. Kelly.
This is how I feel too. There’s no way her mom and uncle didn’t know anything. Her uncle was manager over rkelly so there’s absolutely noooooooo way he had no idea.

What blows my mind is that Aaliyah said Diane told her she had sex-appeal when she was 10 in a talk-show..this is so disturbing.
She herself allegedly had entanglements with Kelly, she was so involved in every aspect of her daughter's life, there's no chance she did not know what was going on.
That poor girl had so many people in her own family that were corrupt and not looking out for her best interests. She was basically getting pimped out by her own family and Barry is the one who walked away with 90 million because of her death. It's no surprise that she was already looking to leave her uncle's management when tragedy struck.

That insurance policy was likely based on the amount she was currently making for the label and the potential projects she had lined up to make $ throughout her lifetime, remember she was an actor, a singer, a performer, she was doing it all, an insurance policy for a big time celeb is going to be much different than your average individual.

The fact that Diane has never spoken out against R. Kelly says a lot. She lashed out at another victim who stated what she witnessed but she didn't say anything when one of R. Kelly's exes claimed that Diane was having an affair with R. Kelly at the same time he was involved with Aaliyah. She didn't say anything when Aaliyah's name was brought up in court essentially confirming the marriage. They even had the pastor who wed them testify. Diane and Michael could've refused any settlement and taken R. Kelly to court when they knew he was having an inappropriate relationship with their daughter but they prioritized her career instead. It seems like as long as the public wasn't aware they didn't care but when the marriage license was published and Aaliyah was getting bad press then they decided to intervene.

Her parents dropped the ball fullstop. I can't see New Yorkers, especially her dad being so gullible. It is true we will never know what happened, but Aaliyah and RK were matching clothes on interviews, etc it was obvious. They might have been the Cosby's in front the world but who knows how they were behind closed doors. So many children in the entertainment industry come out damaged because of what they parents turn a blind eye to. As Aaliyah said, she was always thinking and in a daze. I somehow think Aaliyah's dynamic with her parents would have changed had Aaliyah lived and had children of her own.

With all due respect to the family, I find it hard to believe anything that Diane says these days. She has too many secrets to keep. Why else would she pretty much be defending Robert. This was a short, sweet and tastefully done video on Aaliyah's mother Diane. I rarely see videos on her so it's nice to see a video on her life and her relationship with Aaliyah. You're right to us Aaliyah is an icon/legend in music, music videos, modeling, movies, hair, makeup, fashion etc but to Diane she was her flesh and blood daughter first and foremost. I can't imagine the grief she still has over losing both Aaliyah and her husband Micheal. I know she still misses and grieves for both Aaliyah and Michael but they are both watching over her in heaven and I'm sure she is happy to see the millions of fans Aaliyah has globally still nearly 22 years later after Aaliyah's passing. Yesterday was the anniversary of we needed a resolution. This month is so special to me because it was the first time that I was introduced to Aaliyah! I remember so long ago I was in the car with my mom and I heard it on the radio than she released the video and everybody was so shock because it was a brand new sexy side of her! Good job per usual Tony. I must admit I too was a bit biased of Aaliyah's family. However we all need grace at the end of the day. I'm sure it's immensely difficult still to live year after year without her daughter. As a mom I couldn't even Imagine nor want to. I pray peace and blessings over Ms Diane, as Aaliyah had nothing but utmost respect for her mom so it is only right to follow suit. To have raised such a poised, intellectual and self assured daughter who accomplished a great deal in 7 years? Psssh Diane did that! I thank her for backing her daughter's dreams cause we were able to witness a gem in our lifetime. Much like I'll always respect Joe Jackson for out dreaming his sons at times, as the world would have been totally different without MJ's influence on it. Shout out to the parents! I just thought it was sus that her mom refused to participate in bringing R Kelly down. If I found out that my daughter was victim to a predator like that, I would be doing everything I could to put him behind bars. Instead she denied it and refused to participate. I remember reading in 2001 that Ms. Diane had to fly to the Bahamas to view Aaliyahs body post autopsy. She left devastated.
Imagine seeing your child with plane crash wounds and autopsy stitches. That's traumatic.
Some idiot back in 2002 tried to sell a piece of what he said was Aaliyahs plane on ebay. It was a picture of tangled metal and painted similar to her plane. People intervened, and he took it down.

Aaliya's mother was sleeping with R Kelly. Aaliyah had issues with her mother,they did not get along like everyone thought. The reason why she cannot listen to Aaliyah's music bcus she feels guilty. Diane was JEALOUS of her dauther. Diane was not a good mother. I know this will make some people mad, she did horrible things to her daughter She was aware of everything going on with Aaliyah. And she was not on the road with Aaliyah all the time. She pimped her daughter out. Diane wanted the fame and fortune. She tried to get but did not succeed at it, she was living her life through Aaliyah.

Not all parents love their children. The Bible talks all the time about parents who sacrificed their children in the fire. There is nothing new under the sun. I do believe that Aaliyah was a good, sweet, genuine person. I also sadly believe she loved her mother and just wanted to please her mother. I also strongly believe that it wasn’t reciprocal on her mothers end. The level of jealousy Aaliyah had to deal with in her life is so tragic and heartbreaking.

That entertainment industry is dark, and kids grow up too fast. Aaliyah was groomed by R.Kelly, and Aaliyah was acting more grown than what she was, and she needed her mother to check her or both parents. Kids need their parents.

Why did she sign the NDA? My mother would never in a million years. I know my mother would rather d!e than sign an NDA preventing her from talking about what happened to me. I also want to know why her uncle took out two life insurance policies on her and then cashed out on a 90 million dollar wrong d*ath lawsuit and took his family to the Taj Mahal for a “mourning” feast. Her silence when R.Kelly was exposed with evidence that he groomed her daughter and she refused to speak or participate in getting her daughter justice, her silence says a lot. Something is not right at all, I’m sorry.
If she went everywhere with her, where was she when Aaliyah got married, can she tell us that? At least. She should know where she was that day since, she can tell us that she had eye surgery and that’s why she couldn’t go to the Bahamas, it’s a significant day in her life, she should have memories of where and how Aaliyah was able to go ALONE to a courthouse to marry a 30 year old man.
@@polynarcs I hate to say it but she's a failure of a mother point blank. Failure to protect her daughter in every regard. Got as much $ out of her as they could and ended it. Signed an NDA and even slept with the man that 🍇ed her daughter... signing that NDA so that her daughter could never speak her truth either. No parent should ever have to lose a child, but I have zero sympathy for her. I personally feel if Aaliyah had more people looking out for her she would have emancipated herself from her family and probably would still be with us today.
It's not one incident either, it's a consistent pattern that led to tragedy. I wish we could have gotten a book from Aaliyah later on when she reached full adulthood.
