I was a kid when Aaliyah died I was only 12 years old. It’s very disturbing to grow up and now at 33 find out that her first album was called age ain’t nothing but a number and she was only 14. That’s DISGUSTING! I have a child and the fact that the world turned their head and didn’t protect any of these kids just like Justin Bieber and many others like him for money ….is FOUL
The 90’s were different so unless your was about you won’t understand how it was. I was 14 was seeing a 21 year old , I didn’t do anything apart from kissing but it wasn’t an issue back then. My friends and I were around 16 and we would meet up with a group of guys that were 19/20. My mum went on a date in the 60’s at 14/15 he was 20 and nothing would happen sexually as you didn’t dare in those days. You have to remember different times , different mindsets, different era. Nowadays that cannot happen as it’s a different era and different mindset.

I dont think people continued to listen to R Kelly after the accusations, as much as people just sort of heard his music being played everywhere, on the radio, at clubs, by default, and it was assumed by most that he was innocent until proven guilty. And then when the guiltt verdict came out, and people realized that Kelly still had fans that would attend his shows, that was definately weird etc. Aaliyah herself never really outed R Kelly publically back then, so people assumed that she wanted R Kelly back then, until we realized she was suffering in silence.
