Perfect example of what you're talking about is the fact that this practice of inhlawulo is not practiced by the baSotho, seTswana or baPedi tribes but some of them practice inhlawulo because its fashionable to do so. They don't even know that in their culture it's either marriage or nothing at all. We truly are making a mockery of our beautiful cultural customs.

Thats not true. Im Tswana from Botswana and we practice that. Its called 'tshenyo'
Its just that a lot of our practices have died over the years thats why the society is messed up.
Also to give your child your surname as the father you have to lobola him. These 2 are not the same. If you do not lobola him/her but have paid 'tshenyo' you have access your parents(child's grandparents) have access to the child. He can see both parents and spend time with them. But for the surname you pay lobola, as if you are marrying the mother, but its basically to legitimise the child and claim them.

If you decide not to pay damages, it might be well with you but at some point it will catch up with your kids or your grandchildren, sadly.

      Injalo.
Media has given a right of speech to very ignorant people who have not done some very good research on matters.
Some like Penuel speak on things that involve the ancestral realm without having done any research of how a persons deeds on earth affect those in the ancestral realm and them affected in reverse from the ancestral realm.
We know many such people who never wantes anything to do nosiko but now in the an cestral realm their loved ones on earth hqve to be up and down fixing thibgs they ignored while on earth.
In ancient africa people were not allowed to publicly pass opinions because opinions are not based on knowledge and are very misleading.
      Click bait.

Basically you are giving cultural practices and rituals the finger. Aew you saying lobolq should be stopped too, hlabela badimo etc just because of the modern way of life? What nation will we be with no culture then? Ofcourse culture is dynamic but we cant just wqke one day and decide scrap these things off

    • @mutwa_0

Let them scrap everything, we want to see where it will all end😂😂😂

The video started positively but ended bad. Your views are too biased and just intentionally ignorant of the effects of opression past and present which led people astray. U cant talk about usiko without speaking about ancestors, by that i mean without having consulted with ancestors on such matters, those who started it all. So your views are just mundane. Also whether u live it or not, the fact that u are a product of it when we follow that long chain of ancestry going backwards, it always catches up with u or your descendants, examples are plenty on all media platforms.
