My partner just tried to get his rights confirmed at childrens court, filled in an affidavit and a form 2 J767, tried to submit it, and were told that theres a 3 month waiting period and that he should work through the lawyer. She is denying him access and ignoring calls.
The father must still maintain his child irrespective of whether the mother remarries. The father is still responsible for his child. He cannot just hand over his responsibility to another man.
The sir name of the child still remains the same. Unless the father of the child is not in contact or just left. The marige partner then has the right to ADOPT the child as his / her own .
