I think the OP anime has had several issues through the years (pacing, animation) but that OST has NEVER disappointed
I love how the wapol fight doesnt end up really being a fight, luffy just wipes the floor with him and then launches him into orbit

The soundtrack pieces in these episodes are so great, especially the string sections - I love it so much
It is a distinct possibility that in the tradition of naming characters Wappole is named after Robert Walpole who apart from being a BritishPrime minister and secretary to the Navy Treasury. This arc has a number of important points including Luffy learning from Vivi some fundamentals of leadership.
his cuteness, his abilities, his personality, and his coolness are all part of why Chopper is my second fave Straw Hat under Zoro.

That's what you get for not doing weapon maintenance, Wapol.
People who haven't watched One Piece yet are always like, "Ugh but it's so loooong" as their excuse for not watching. But watching it you find out that when every moment is so entertaining and the story is so compelling, it really doesn't feel long at all!
This Rumble Ball episode is the FIRST episode and thing of One Piece I ever saw, way back in 2004 at the end of college. The original, not the 4Kids version.
Similar to Luffy, once I saw Chopper's transformations, I had to know more... so I started reading the series right after.
Funny enough, the 4kids version of this episode is my earliest recollection of one piece. I’m fuzzy on whether I gave it a chance before or how much longer after that it took me to get into the series proper, but I do recall giving the 4kids rumble ball episode a chance one day as a kid and thinking “this show’s cool”
It's less that Dalton could or couldn't have ended the fight, it's more that Dalton was going to blow himself up with Wapol. I'm glad that Luffy took him out and Dalton lived.
Zoan are definitely one of my favourite types of Devil Fruits. Having animal forms would be cool.
That was fun. I like, that they give us a bit more information about certain devil fruits here and the way they do it.
wapol would be a good horror movie angtagonist if you really play into his ability to eat and combine people

Walk Point -- Normal "Reindeer"
Arm Point -- Buffed biceps (Rumble 1)
Guard Point -- Buffed fur (Rumble 2)
Brain Point -- Human/Reindeer Hybrid, his normal "cute" form
Heavy Point -- Human form
Jumping Point -- Human-like form with reindeer legs (Rumble 3)
???????? -- (one left for Rumble)

Exactly, but because of all this different forms of chopper, we are all wondering, how they can and how they will manage this in the liveaction ^^'. Make him cute but also powerful, will be hard i guess ^^
I wish that Dalton would've had a lot more screentime in this arc, he is such a cool guy
agreed, and he has the actual first zian fruit on screen I think.
Chopper is 15 at this point in time which is the standard life spans for a regular reindeer but due to his devil fruit he might have a more human-like lifespan so we don't really know when adult is for him
It's funny that you said "bazooka is his finishing move" because One piece and Oda do a really good job of not repeating finishing blows, if you go back Luffy will never defeat an opponent the same way, and its a small way of showing that the techniques that finish off weaker opponents aren't enough to finish off stronger opponents so he'll need to come up with a new way to defeat them. It's just a fun small touch that keeps fights in one piece interesting

Oda made Zoro being out of the main show venue almost the whole time & nerved Sanji so the fight doesn't end in a flash.
If Sanji's in a good shape, he & Chopper would be enough to obliterate this arc's enemies.
Everyone else can just having nice hot tea and some booze while watching the massacre...

Cool reaction Mikey! I know, Chopper brings some kind of "pretty kid/pet" to rhe group. It's rumoured that he was a character asked by Toei to Oda do due to animation "age" public purposes. But I don't know if this is really true.
Oda has drawn concept art that included Chopper before the manga even started. On the concept art of the crew, chopper was human-sized and had a sword. There's also a version of him with zebra stripes.
@@kmsomebody Thank you for the info bro! In fact it is normal the authors to make adaptations when his work make success. I remember a story (again I don't know if it true) about Oda had planned OP to have 90 chapters with a musician and a doctor composing with the first 5 strawhats, and they would be a fishmen and a marine. If I''m not mistake the initial idea was to Luffy appear from the barrel already in Grand Line. This kind of make sense if we consider a plot so summarized. But this caan just be a hoax too. One Piece have several misguiding informations in this 25 years.
