The Empty Man needed to be a mini-series, a film really wasn't enough to explore everything. It's based on a comic btw, it's by Cullen Bunn, I've never read it but the artwork is gorgeous from what I've seen online. Also I saw Bodies Bodies Bodies and it was about as enjoyable as having my fingernails pulled out one by one.
Ya know you are right! I wanted very badly to like the empty man but I just didn’t feel invested in it as much as I wanted to. I think a series really could have fleshed out our main character and brought us along as passengers to his existential crisis rather than merely spectators.
Wow. Just wow. I have become such a massive fan of Jigsaw that just the mention of his franchise makes me smile. Fellow fans, is this a good sign or a bad one?
How about Saw 2 ?? 3 plot twists in one movie and they all worked 1. The game was already days ago and the police only watched a recording instead of a live feed 2. Daniel was in the room with his dad the whole time all Matthew's had to do was sit there and talk to Jigsaw for as long as that clock got to zero 3. Amanda was helping Jigsaw all along
The thing about Us and the Adelaide we've been rooting for being a tethered doesnt make her the bad guy, thts still the family she had, still the man she married, not the original adelaide
It doesn't seem like the tethered are able to make their own choice of actions down below, so as Adelaide was growing up below, she didn't actively choose how her life ended up, while being forced to mimic the above Adelaides' actions without context.
I love this list, but may i add 2 under honorable mentions, if that's cool?: 1. The Dissappearance Of Willie Bingham: There's a short film from Omeleto about a prisoner who has his limbs amputated one by one for his crime and life sentences. His victim has the choice to either say stop or proceed. This short film takes it time with the surgeries this convict goes through so the audience is able to see his will to live and his personality are chipped at by each amputation. At the end, this convict has no legs, no arms, castration, no nose, no ear, no lips or tounge, and is seen in his hospital bed with a complete visual conclusion of his body and the bandages on his face. That would be the last surgery the victim allowed to happen. 2. Never Let Me Go: This is classified as a Drama and not a horror but in my eyes it's down right horrific. Kathy, Tommy and Ruth are childhood friends. When they leave the school they attended all their lives together, they are told that the young adults will be donating their organs in 3 different surgeries over time. Kathy has been inlove with Tommy this whole time but he ends up with Ruth. Some time passes in which Tommy and Ruth spent together without Kathy. When they meet again, Tommy and Ruth have already done 2 deposits of their organs while Kathy doesn't get her letter for her first organ deposit until after Tommy and Ruth have died. You get a few extra years if you're inlove and by the time Tommy and Kathy are finally able to get together, Ruth has given her last organ deposit which ended her life and now Kathy and Tommy head over to talk to the decision maker for a deferral that they find out doesn't exist. Before Ruth died, she said how she knew they loved each other this whole time but Ruth didn't wanna spend her final years alone. After they are told the deferral doesn't exist, Tommy goes in for his final organ deposit and Katgy stands at the OR window watching the doctors as they take his final organs and dies. It isn't until a bit of time passes that Kathy gets that letter that tells her the date of her first organ deposit. And to me that's horrific.
I loved Ghost Stories, if you're looking for something spooky I would highly recommend it ❤ Also, I watched "Us" with my mom and Aunt, and I already knew the twist beforehand but I kept it to myself until right after it so I could explain it to them 😂
i reeeeeally, really wish the kill list was listed as a thriller instead of horror. the movie was great, but the entiiiire time i was waiting for it to become “horror” :/
Psycho literally started of as a kind of a story about a run away and we follow her future stories. But then Alfred Hitchcock said, "It's not that kind of movie. Keep watching." And then from the left field our protagonist got murdered in the most brutal slasher way. And the story kept spiralling down into madness.
“Lake Mungo’s” a good example of a movie having one too many “twists”… …”Memento” has soo many “twists,” i had to wait until it became a classic, to see the breakdown, in a “What Culture” video… …but “Lake Mungo’s” got soo many twists, I haven’t even watched it yet! #SpoilerAlertsShouldntBeACourtesyThatSpoilsTheBeginingOfAMovieTheEndOfAMovieMakesAndOrBreakAMovie
I hate to be a hater, I really do, but gee, Bodies Bodies Bodies could not be saved. Before anyone says I didn't really understand the "true purpose of the movie", I get the "deeper" meaning of it, but is just- bad (not the actors' fault). The plot was boring, the material the actors had to work with was cringe (regardless if it was the purpose or not), and the plot twist was extremely predictable and wildly underwhelming.
SPOILER FOR GHOST STORIES * * * * I can't think of a a single other recent movie that actually did the 'none of it was real/it was all a dream/in his head' twist that well, or well at all
I’d hardly call the killer reveals in Scream 5 “great” 😅 one was Mickey levels of out-of-nowhere and the other just about anyone could see coming from a mile away
BBB was pure trash the fact pete davidson killed himself by accident was just stupid, it would of been much better if there was a killer like in the scream movies
Nah, making the new gen related to the old gen and doing almost the exact same thing in Scream was dumb. Worse was having Billy be either a cheater or a cuckold (or both), the very thing he hated Sydney’s mom for. And far worse yet was the dumb AF decision to have a fucking ghost Billy Loomis. Hot garbage.
Why oh WHY? Did you put the smiling girl from smile as the thumb nail?? That movie was AWFUL! Sure it had a good plot. But when the heroine beats the villain not once, but TWICE, and you keep pulling the dream logic card, you've already lost. Because no matter what you do, the monster can just shout dream logic. And you lose no matter what. So in my opinion, that movie sucked due mostly to the writers having no imagination.
@@rasalasblack Yes, they did. SPOILER... After the final girl kills who you think is the killer...the harassed medical student comes out of a cabin and confronts her. She killed the wrong person. She of course misunderstands him and kills him. Remember in the original when the killer dresses as the porter and grabs Jamie Lee's wrists? The porter in this movie is played by a woman...who turns out to be the "supposed" killer's mother! That's right, they pulled the Friday the 13th twist by having the mother be the killer all the time. Oh, and that did throw me off because I thought the female porter was going to turn out to be the guy in disguise. No offense to the actress, but she did somewhat look like she could have been a man. And she was wearing a scarf all the time which could have hidden an Adam's apple. I seriously believe this was done on purpose. As for the sequel. It's actually better. But in the end it was kind of an obvious Scream (2022) reveal.
bodies bodies bodies was honestly a fun horror!! i love media making fun about the incoming "rise of influencers" and the entire cast being kinda dickish made for a goofy silly time the ending is forever my favorite though, talk about fuck around and find out ig??
I don't get the love of US. It's so stupid and makes zero sense yet everyone says omg its a brilliant movie!!! Get Out was great, he's just getting more shit the more he does it seems.
They can do it, a horror movie list without The Mist in it.
Thank god someone's willing to push through and complain even when it doesn't happen though.
Next is Hereditary
The mist is just that good lol
I hate the mist

10. The Empty Man
9. Ghost Stories
8. Bodies Bodies Bodies
7. Lake Mungo
6. Saw
5. Scream (2022)
4. Absentia
3. One Cut of the Dead
2. Us
1. Psycho
Thank you. Wanna watch ‘em first 😊
Thanks, I can go watch them instead of having the spoilers :3
My man just doin' god's work
king shit
The best twist in Saw was the simple fact he coulda used the saw to reach the keys and drag them over and instead hacked off his own foot.
@@retrorockerross Not those chains.
Frailty has brilliant twist after twist and an awesome film as well.

both of these reviews in here are spot on
The Comic is amazing. Highly recommend
2 be honest I've never heard of the empty man
The story is extremely derivative and unimpressive though
Immediate thumbs up for mentioning The Empty Man. One of the absolute best movies no one seems to have seen.
One Cut of the Dead is a fabulous movie! It's absolutely hysterical, and I also didn't get the hype at the beginning. I'm glad I stuck with it!
Wow. Just wow. I have become such a massive fan of Jigsaw that just the mention of his franchise makes me smile. Fellow fans, is this a good sign or a bad one?
Both.
why didn't he just use the saw to reach the keys and drag them over? I was a fan too until that thought hit me...hahaha
Bodies Bodies Bodies was such a brilliant concept but it had the most annoying characters that it was unpleasant to watch

Incredible! Thank you!
The fact that Scream V actually reveals one of the main twists right at the beginning and it still works.
I had no idea Absentia was Mike Flanagan. Thanks
It's a very basic movie and Mike s first movie i think
It is the only film listed that I haven't seen. I will have to check it out.
There were rumors about the family relationships with original characters for scream, like 3 years before it came out 😢
Great vid love ur channel
seriously, you guys need to re-watch frailty because 1) how the hell is it not on this list and 2) you missed the second twist altogether.
I don't know if it can truely be quantified as "horror" (more "thriller", I guess), but "The Tall Man" blew my head off.
I love this list, but may i add 2 under honorable mentions, if that's cool?:

If Jacob s ladder the scariest movie ever isn't here there most be something wrong with the world
Lake mungo freaked me out 😭....Absentia was amazing too 💜
Scream 5... For real?
I loved all the Saw twists tbh
It's not horror, but Clay Pigeons is one hell of a great plot twisting thriller. It is comedic real life horror ,I suppose.
Eli has some decent twists that get wilder as things go on.
How are you gonna talk about the movies BUT NOT REALLY TALK ABOUT THE MOVIES lmfaoooooo
I legitimately gasped and cracked up laughing at the end of Bodies Bodies Bodies. I highly recommend it.
I was about to write the whole movie off until the final twist, I ended up laughing out laugh on the plane I was on.
Absentia was absolutely brilliant.
I want One Cut of the Dead on a date.... so amazing!
Annihlation is crazy good too!!!
Empty Man is underrated.
ghost stories is a top tier anthology film. one of the best i promise you that!
Awesome video 🖤🔪
Bloody Reunion is absolutely brilliant. As was Gun Woman
Cool with the list. Saw should have been closer to 1 and Us the other way around. It was whatever at best.
I loved Ghost Stories, if you're looking for something spooky I would highly recommend it ❤ Also, I watched "Us" with my mom and Aunt, and I already knew the twist beforehand but I kept it to myself until right after it so I could explain it to them 😂
Bodies bodies bodies is definitely the most realistic horror movie. Especially the end
Lake Mungo is phenomenal! As a cure for insomnia.
Scream 20 ghost face never dies 😂
Jason voorhees had multiple sons at an early age before “dying/drowning “.
Bodies bodies bodies was very disappointing.
The empty man was so bad, it made no sense, nothing was connected
M. Night is watching this and taking notes.
What’s with the creepy thumbnail?? Noo!!
I think it's Elisabeth Moss in"The Invisible Man"... But she/that movie aren't on here. Total clickbait 😭
@@Hilz28 It's Elizabeth Moss in Us, which is on here. Number 2.
Hoping The Kill List is on here that movie was bonkers

Scream 5 was a joke.
No M. Night Shyamalan movie in the list? No way? Put one at random.
THE VISIT twist was so paralyzing to me!
1:39 Man, he said GHOST stories. Not Toast Stories
How is "Kill List" not on here? There are honestly to many to even list.

Bodies Bodies Bodies is good. The characters are meant to be annoying, and the ending really fits the tone and theme.
Ghostland (incident in a ghostland)
Why did they spoil some but not the others?
Psycho and Us are my favorites on this list.
