G Thomas helping out Cav after the huge disappointment from yesterday......the man has a great personality!!!
G is pure class.
@@PjD-pk1fg The embodiment of class.
Yes, I take my hat-off to that Monsieur!
He’s a pro..it’s what’s expected from him. When you have ego’s that don’t allow this type of work, those are the non pros, and just spoiled kids
@@coboisarapatanas it's in no way to be expected from him to lead out cav's sprint though
G getting Cav on his wheel to help Cav take his last Giro stage win. Great sportsmanship for GB
Thnx to all the people @GCN Racing. You made great vids the last 3 weeks.
Geraint! What a legend
There should be the best domestique award! Sepp Kuss is a beast!
Congratulations to Roglic and Cavendis!! Big respect to G Thomas!!! Great person.
Cav is the GOAT of the sprinting world , next up the TDF. One stage is all it will take to take things to the next level. Well done G & Roglic of course
They'll give him one, it's good for business.
@@Mike-rm1lb No-one gives anyone anything in the Tour de France; it's too brutal and too important.
If Cav wins he wins on merit.
@@luckyspurs agreed!
@@Mike-rm1lb Totally looked like a gift stage win to me.
@@luckyspurs they absolutely do, but usually in the same team / if you agree to pay.
What a lovely gesture to give Cav a lead out by G. I found that quite emotional from both perspectives.
Sending luv to G… he showed that he’s a bigger man ❤❤❤
Thanks GCN for the great coverage like always 🎉
That hug between Cav and Thomas 🥰❤️
Shed a tear during the Gs pull at the end. Class
What a finish. Cav wanted that so badly. Amazing result.
an early retirement gift. No regards to the carnage behind him.

I have to admit, I teared up a bit watching that sprint live.
G leading Cav out gave me Champs-Élysées 2012 vibes, I was yelling at my screen!
Right ON! Totally!!
Brilliant finish thanks G AND MARK
Great sporting spirit G.
I knew Cav still has it:)
Absolute legend. What a guy G is ♥️
G Thomas and Cav are 2 biggest legends of cycling ever! Best Giro in many years!
Bravo for Roglic, i am glad one person from our former country won. Praises for Thomas and Cavendish!
Cavendish magic! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Another beautiful and classic Giro comes to an end. Til next year 🤌
Well deserved Primoz!!! What a journey to finally winning the Giro!
That was an unequivocal win - by a mile! Was great to see.
Roglic is a legend.
Primoz deserved as Thomas, two huge gladiators on bicycle 🚲 👏 congratulations 🎊 wonderful stage 20 against ⏰️ on giro 2023
Thank you, GCN, for all the hard work!
Yea cav thanks for the memories simply the best
Gaviria was a great gentleman on the Sprint 👏🏻 Thanks CAV 👏🏻
Thanks GCN for the great coverage of the event.
That crash looked nasty tho…hope everyone is ok. 💪🏻
What's the news on Pascal Ackermann, looked like he was already bruising up the elbow in the video.
@@dhldt1021 several abrasions but nothing serious!
What a finally.. Congrats to all..🎉🎉🎉
Total class
Great end to an eventful tour, congrats to all for completing and what a fairytale end with Cav winning!
So pleased for Cav signing off in style!
The GOAT. Amazing.
Although I cheered for Primož, I kinda feel bad for Geraint, he would be a deserving winner. But yeah, awesome achievement for Rogla 👏👏
Top man G. Congratulations Cav!
Grandioso ...
G is pure class
Big Thanks to GCN R
youre no.1
this is it rogla....champ..nice effort..💪🥳💪
Wow 🎉, what a storied career.
He won that stage by "miles".in cycling terms
the overhead gap was really telling. When he's on, he's untouchable.
GIFT
The other sprinters all looked tired and wasted after 3 hard weeks the had very little left in their legs, but Cavendish's strength is specifically these types of conditions where he is as fresh as the first day.
Well I was thinking something else... #posttourcrit
@@oldtwinsna8347 Yeah. Cav can climb better than most other sprinters too i.e. less tired on the last sprint of the tour.
Excellent coverage of the 2023 Giro d'Italia from start to finish🌞
One of the best Giros ever.
Once again the best highlight summaries anywhere. Chapeau GCN.
Thanks!
The MANX goat, the greatest without doubt.
Mark Cavendish reserved the best for last 💪 He came out from the pack flying and a win he really deserves 👏 A race very well organised with a detailed GCN coverage. Congratulations 👍 to

G!!! what a legend. Great to see Cav take the win
holy sh**! That was a legit sprint win. Several bike lengths ahead...

Congrats TBV!!!

The Giro never, ever disappoints.
Great to see CAV finish with a final win😊 of his career and not skidding across the line 😂
Cav won that sprint like in TDF's champs de elysee.... he left everyone in the dust... with help of team mates of course.
Which team mates?

a lot to enjoy there! Cav forever
Congrats to Roglic and Cav, but all said and done G is the class of the peloton.
well i did not think Cav would win, let alone by that huge margin. class act by former teammates!!! (GT?)
There were no other top sprinters to contend. Hence the huge margin.
So cool Cavendish getting one last Win.
Garrett Helping out ❤.
Great finale. Cav winning the sprint and Pinot winning the KOM
And G won our hearts.
GOAT!👍 🚀
Mooi gebaar
It was great to see MC given that honourable win.
It was always going to be PR over GT.
Another fantastic Giro to history
congrats Cav.... hope you get another lap in TDF, to break the record.... congrats also to Primoz....
Cant wait for the Tour de France 😊
Neither can we! Who do you think will win?
Gcn eurosport super giro coverage , studio , and
kelly, especially 😊
G= class act!
Terbaik lah Primo.. pandai pancing
Kudos to Thomas helping out Cav get his 34th win.
We all hope Cav can make history on TDF simply because of the narrow for the sport and if not then he gave it his best shot.
Fitting Finish and send off to Mark!
Thomas`s huge dissappointment of Gyro loss only the day before he still managed to congratulate and hug each Jumbo Visma team member straight after and then put all that aside to " in effect " act as a lead out man to Cav ! What an incredible act of sportsmanship and generosity ! The capo di tutti capi of sportsmanship and cameraderie. I`m more than impressed !
Mad Manx
Gladiators with shaved legs, well done Rogla💪🏆
Cav what a sprint let's go TDF 2023
Do you think he will break the TdF stage win record?
@@gcnracing I think he will and 2 more. Go Cav
how about some details on that crash at the end. what a crappy way to end a grand tour for those riders
Ackerman just swerved right for no apparent reason, taking out himself and anyone who came behind him sadly.
@@Tibovl it's not no apparent reason - he was trying to follow the guy in the bright kit but touched the wheel and lost control. So then was just a full swerve to the right and smashed the barriers.
This is not to say that Ackerman was at no fault - he made a mistake and paid for it!
Team sky moment ❤️
Shame Gearing Thomas came up short in the end, but seeing him help Cavendish get a great stage win to cap his career was a sweet consolation.
The missile is one of the few remaining veteran riders, but he is still a force to rekon with
" In the eternal city, the eternal sprinter " Bet he had that line pre prepared
Can anyone explain to noobhead why the maglia Rosa wasn’t at play today when there was just a few seconds in it?
3:14 People say that the other sprinters gave Cavendish the win by giving up. I think that they gave up because he blew them out of the water.
Now all Roglic’s need is win the TDF.
Do you reckon he'll complete the set at some point?
Yeah Cavendish
Gaviria had a chain jam at 150m.
Not quite a finale for the Giro. But the Le Tour awaits us. Large tours, must have sprint finishes.!!
One of the best Giros I’ve seen, great commentary from the Eurosport team also…absolutely made up for Cavendish, hats off to Roglic..counting down the days to the Tour 👍
Wow, Cav won by miles..;)
Come on Cav, now win just one stage in the Tour de France to beat Merckx's record and become the greatest TdF stage winner of all time.
As for retiring at the end of this year, don't even think about it, you've still got at least a couple more Grand Tours in your legs..:)
Just like Tony Martin, what a happy ending for Cav...
"a crash behind taking out Pascal Ackerman"
Fairly sure Ackerman just swerved into Marit on his own like a drunk driver, but oh well...
agreed, seems like he took himself out. Lucky no one else was in the path of that catastrophe!
@@tychoMX Well, he took out like 4 other riders, but it seems they all got up and rode the finish.
Agree Ackermann had a total brain-fade - WTF was he thinking? Maybe it was the Prosecco…
@@Tibovl hm, I thought that was a separate rider but I think you’re right. Ouch, that’s no fun at the end of 3 weeks.
Na, think his wheel overlapped, which caused the issue
The term #BallstotheWalls resembles today's finish.
Remco...we will never know
Can someone explain something to me:
Why were the news outlets essentially saying that Roglic was the winner before the start of stage 21? He was only up 14 seconds on Thomas in second place going into stage 21.
The last stage is traditionally more of a celebration parade for the most part, with champagne being drunk and stops to hug loved ones, and the race leaders don’t attack each other. I’m not sure if that would hold if the time difference was only a couple of seconds.
@@mildpandemic3944 I would have thought 14 secs would be very close for parading. I could understand if someone had a 10 minute lead or something.
The only way he would've lost is by not starting or a horrific crash that takes him out in an ambulance. Otherwise, no chance at this.
It's a longstanding agreement that no one attacks the leader on the final stage of the Giro, TdF etc. Only the sprint is contended. It means most riders can just relax and enjoy the stage / mark the end of 3 weeks of hard work.
I'm new to cycling so please help me understand, why is it that G didn't try to win back the pink jersey? Is 14 seconds really an impossible amount of time overcome? If so in what sense? For example, is it the stage route that would make it impossible for G to pull 14 seconds on him? Thanks in advance!
I also have the same question. Why don't they try to close the gap in GC? It's not over until it's over right?
@@lostcivilizationz yeah I didn't mean to make it sound like it's easy but they didn't even try. Like why not try at least and make Roglic fight even more for it?
It’s an informal code of conduct, understood by all riders in grand tours. You don’t attack the maglia rossa in the final stage.
@@ieuan1978 I have played sports my entire life since I could run. Enough to understand how to respect your rivals. But to lose an opportunity of a lifetime because you don't attack on the last stage seems absurd to me. Imagine if there was a rule in football in a final where if your opponent goes up 3-0 then you forfeit the game and accept defeat. Thanks for the explanation though.
@@jonathan_guerrero fair enough but that is the way it works in this particular sport. (Also it would be nigh on impossible to get a 14 second gap on a flat course, even if the rider didn’t care about being dishonourable)
I wish the GC contenders could fight it down to the last second in the grand tours. I know it's tradition but let them race on the last day.
New to cycling sport here. Why Geraint couldn't have tried to get ahead of Roglic by more than 14 seconds and win the GC?
The last stage normally is a flat one into the capital and the leader is not attacked anymore. This is true for the grand tours, not for smaller 1 weeks. Also: grand tours are won in the mountains and time trials, not on flat stages like the last days normally are. You do not simply get 14 sec (or a bigger margin, 14s is quite small) on a stage like this.
Thanks for the explanation! 👍
You know that look Puccio gave Ben Healy on Stage 19.
Half the field would be giving Ineos that look.
@@pradeepknal he cant make up that much time on a flat course like that.
What no clip of supercombativity winner and man with the heart of a lion Derek Gee?!
