  • A quick note about the Drive Helix line of wheels and the valve system. Not so much a *huge issue but definitely something worth mentioning and a solution to the problem. The Helix line was released on March 29th.
    More About the *Helix 57D
The Drive Helix 57D was designed to be the ultimate all-round performance wheelset. Being part of our first ultra-premium wheel series, it is the best choice for riders who want a balance of aerodynamics and lightweight for both the climbs, the flats, and everything in between. Drawing inspiration from our popular Drive road wheels, the 57D uses replaceable carbon spokes, UNI carbon fiber, and TPI ceramic bearings.
What sets these new wheels apart isn’t just the new aero, undulating rim profiles and improved carbon spoke design, but also the innovative Helical Dual Ratchet System, which gives this new wheelset its name. Wanna see more? Let's get to it!

Best tip i can give. Dont go tubeless. Too much of a hassle, the little benefits dont weigh up. tpu is the way to go for me. What kind of sealant do you use? The SILCA sealant is not adviced to fill with the valves.

🤣 “Don’t Go Tubeless” I hear you and a lot of people feel that way. I’m definitely a tubeless guy! IMO, Tubeless isn’t a hassle at all and definitely worth it. I’ve tried TPUs before and didn’t like the ride feel. I’ve revisited it again and currently have some TPUs in one of my bike builds but… I still prefer Tubeless. The ride feel is un-matched, 😩 I haven’t heard good things about SILCA’s sealant. Current sealant type: Joe’s 👈🏽🙂
What TPUs and tire pressure are you running in your setup? *MoreOver, how wide are your tires? 🧐

I’m running 25’s conti gp 5. With revoloop tpu. They measure 27. In 3 years never had a flat. Now waiting for the helix 57d, so im very interested about your opinions. I will be running 30 corsa pro tyres with revoloop tpu with the helix

I actually have my TPUs in the Helix 57ds. Riding the “RideNow” TPUs with the Enve SES 31mm tires. Initially I was running the TPUs with GoodYear Eagle F1 28mm tires as an experiment but… I don’t like 28s, 😩 gotta be 30s and up!
Of course I’ll do an in-depth review of the wheel once I put more miles on them but as for the TPU piece, they don’t feel bad. Very comfy but they’re not Tubeless. I give Tubeless a 10 of 10 in the comfort department. The TPUs get a *STRONG 8!

Thanx for the info and for the video’s bro. They are very insightful, there are not video’s in the wheels and i like your honest opinion about them. Do you ride sram of Shimano? Cant wait to ride them for myself.

Back again! Have you taken them downhill yet? Remember we were talking about the hub. Also, how do you like the micro hook on the rims?

@@robbarmstrong8702 glad you haven't had that hub seizing issue then. These wheels in person are some of the sexiest wheels I've ever seen. Wish they worked out for my boy. Might buy some once I see more reviews.

Im no stranger to Chinese made wheels (I've owned no less than 3 sets I reckon). Most I've spent so far was $750 when Covid just started which was on the pricier end back then. Didn't expect much but they've been bullet proof
I've had thoughts on buying the more pricier ones, notably Elite 50Ds or Craft Racing Works 4045s. What I noticed is that these companies are STILL experiencing growing pains to the tune of engineering and QC. Not only limited to wheelsets but I've seen cranksets with the Incolor Skypivot
I like industry shakers but these Chinese companies have to do better. I know they aren't as big as the usual suspects but if the intent is to give consumers a better option at a lesser price point they'd better up the ante especially on QC. Painful to see updates after updates especially for early adopters like you - they're left with literally a prototype until they've fixed every issue
I suspect Elite just increased the weight on their website as the moulds have been created and costly to re-do

The QC piece is huge! Or have some sort of marketing department, who releases timely information, which addresses *said issues or concerns. I believe that would provide peace of mind and at least let future customers know and understand what they’re getting into.

@@robbarmstrong8702 I think they lack real world testing. Elite had numerous issues with their hubs before with the 40/45/50D which was eventually fixed. If they fielded their UCI teams with prototypes a year ahead then it would've been avoided, but I think they're too quick to market their products. They have it the other way around and don't look into things the way we see it in the Western world
*BTW, they're in a battle atm with patent claims for their new double ratchet hubs. They said they will investigate internally but everyone knows it's Qvist's design
