No matter which PC I do it on, every damn time I do everything like you do, the game no longer starts. I have recreated everything 1:1 and it doesn't work
Using steams gta 4? Then make sure when you use the downgrader from the website you have all the requirements. Once you downgrade verify its the right version and it runs before adding any mods. Just keep launching the game after each step to figure out where what is going wrong.

When i try and launch with PlayGTAIV it says I have to launch using the LaunchGTAIV and when I try to launch from that it doesn't start? I have the steam version
When i try and launch the game though the directory it gets flagged for viruses and when I try launching it from steam it updates the game to the current version

Hey i followed yours and a couple other tuts at the same time, last thing i did was your graphics packs and when i did my game wouldn’t boot anymore and would load a black screen and that’s it and I’d have to restart my pc to fix it or do anything at all. Any ideas?
Best thing I can suggest is to either not use them or verify you did it correctly. Also keep in mind because of the age of gta 4 and the fact its been updated past when most cared- some mods can break. I'd just try it again and make sure youre doing everything e x a c t
I followed the video all the way through and everything works fine but some of the keys dont work in LCPDFR. For example when it tells me to click "," or "." to call a prisoner transport or cycle through different things it doesnt work. Is there a way to change the key binds and if so where is it located, or have I done something wrong on my end? Please and thank you
Some of the buttons might not be labeled correctly. You can try looking around in the files opening them with notepad. I cant remember if you can edit them or not... but just poke around.
The issues that i'm having Is it keeps downloading the GTA4 launcher? And then it tells me to launch it through the GTA4. Launcher Even though I did everything right?
You may need to explain more specifically. Do you have the steam version? Or a pirated one? Maybe even a rockstar game launcher one? Just follow the video to a T
I downgraded yesterday and was playing but today when i boot it up it loads up then crashes i dont even get an error so i dont even now whats the problem
Check diagnostic and log files [19:07] and remember google is your best friend. At worst just restart the process- minus download times it should only take 15ish minutes to do a full restart.

Good tutorial, I haven't touched Lcpdfr in a long time and I watched this to learn how to install everything again. However, installing both enb and lcpdfr makes my game not even launch, I have been trying to find a fix but I'm out of luck. I know its because of enb and lcpdfr because if I install only one of the two, the game works perfectly fine. Any help would be appreciated!
Make sure to watch the troubleshooting section of the video... as lcpdfr has a tool you can run to find issues. You may also have 2 asi loaders instead of just 1
I got the stage where everything was installed fine, no crashes and the game was running smoothly. Until I’d get in game, and use Alt + P to start the mod… for nothing to happen. I saw someone say the mod is super messed up on complete edition, but saw another say to try 1.1 with the compatibility fix (doesn’t work at all, game crashes after 5 seconds of being loaded in). Got any advice? I gave up after 5 hours.
If you watch the full video you'll note we arent on the complete edition.. Make sure to pay attention, follow all the steps, and the only thing from the complete edition patch that you might need is if your lcpdfr troubleshooter says the file is out of date.

Yes. You can use the downgrader to go between 3 different downgraded versions. I know they have on the downgrader 1.0.7.0 and 1.0.8.0 and then 1 other.

The downgrade gets stuck, the download stops and can't complete the download, what a piece of crap, how much time and nerves have I wasted on this? @@Guardian_023 So it is indeed compatible, also couple things I learned: - When asked if you want to move your game to another location, don't do it. Not sure what happens on the migration process but it messes up the location of some data; if want to move your game do it before the whole downgrading process or after. - After all is finished and want to launch the game, some of you may need to deactivate the antivirus software or allow permissions to the app. The so called black screen bug could be because of this. I made a new video on getting multiplayer working. The video doesnt include mods... but the gist is- as long as your files are the same... you play like normal gta multiplayer.
When i try to unzip LCPDFR it says " windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item"

I have the legal copy of gta 4 but every time I try yo downgrade it never works. So I downloaded a cracked version off of DODI REPACKS and thats the only way I got gta 4 to start up but how would add the mods in the 4:39 ? do I just install each induvial off the internet?

im playing on a fresh vanilla steam version and the downgrader forces me to select the executable file of IV, when I click next the yellow error M5 something appears telling me my version is modded. the only extra file it contains is my commandline txt file with one line of code that forces the game to display my real graphic card memory
To be honest; unsure... but Im sure there are other great videos out there or some forum sight that can give you an answer. If you still need help let me know.
I know Zolikapatch allows you to access the DLC menu like usual despite the downgrade but I dont know if it's compatible with LCPDFR, what I'd personally recommend is have a folder of GTAIV specifically for LCPDFR, ELS, and LCPD adjacent stuff then another GTAIV and it's DLC that's for the other stuff that wouldn't work normally with LCPDFR
Whats up man i tried to dowgrade but the bar ended up being yellow im 99% sure i deleted all of the mods and i uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Not sure what to do from here. i continued its missing a file and when i lunch the game steam automatically updates the game i cant get past it
Yellow bar means something isnt right. It could be: not up to date, you have just 1 unoriginal file or more, it also cant be installed on an a or b drive I think, and more. You can go to steam and verify its files... or better yet: just unninstall, go to where it was installed... delete everything... then restart your computer. Install the game. And the game wont update if you use the playgtaiv.exe. you can also tell steam to not update the game by right clicking on it... theres a dropdown for it somewhere in those menus.
Since we are downgrading I dont think youre aiming for the complete edition hooks... I could be wrong... I honestly wish I could remember what hook I ended up using in the troubleshoot section of my video... This video was kind of all over the place and I wish I was more clear and helpful.
If i didnt use it in the video then no. Even if you have the complete edition. However; the advanced hook is updated and that one and if youre having advanced hook issues you may be able to use the complete edition hook and be fine.
i tried downgrading my game and downloading lcpdfr like 100 times already but when im downgrading it it says that i may have a modded directory everytime. I tried reinstalling the game and launch it again but it still says the same thing i ignored it and i actually downgraded my game but when i tried downloading lcpdfr it either says that i dont have xlive.dll or it just shuts down when i launch the game. i even checked if everything is ok and it is. i thought my computer might be bad but thats not possible because my computer runs gta 5 with lspdfr, 3 graphics mods and like 20 more mods.
Make sure to delete gta 4 from steam. Go to your folder where gta 4 is... delete the entire thing. Then restart computer. Re install and do the entire install textbook.

Make sure to follow every minute of the video because this mod is old, the game is old. Getting it to work requires a lot of nuance. Also view the troubleshooting section of the video where I cover some things I missed, some things you may need to do, and other info.
Can anyone in the comments tell me why there's so many suspicious files in the LCPDFR files? I ain't touching this until I'm told, there's stuff like trojan malware, Not-a-virus which is clearly suspicious as all hell, can I be explained as to why? Is it a bug or what?
I believe LCPDFR has on their website that their mod files can trigger antivirus and I think they wrote why... as long as you are on their site I think it will be fine... just dont download any UNOFFICIAL mods that trigger antivirus...
You need some form of cars mod for els to work. You can bypass your antivirus but if you dont feel safe doing that just find a different els supported pack- install instructions should come with.

Hi, I have a problem I hope you can help me with. I click 2 times playgtaiv.exe and an error appears "unable to load steam achievments.asi error: 126", after this it launches the game but closes after a black screen. I've created an exclusion folder already and my game is not installed in program files. 😦 Please help me :(, ive uninstalled and installed everything and it doesnt work 😢
i downloaded the cars the els and the police mod now i cant even run my game because in the settings it says resolution 120mb when before i downloaded anything it was 2k mb anyway to fix that? my laptop is the asus tuf gaming fx504 series if you want to know
so I installed LCPDFR and I am at the stage where you said to test it before we move on, GTAIV is running fine but I can't get LCPDFR to launch. I believe that it's alt+P but nothing happens, although everytime I hit P the screen alternates between going slightly fuzzy and back to being clear
What did the troubleshooter and log files say? Also if Im not mistaken gta 4 has had an update which *could* mess with any mods or methods to mod. Being disrespectful isn't exactly going to help you play gta 4.
@@Guardian_023 yeah i know man i was just irritated because i had spent all night trying to figure it out for literally hours on end and every time i would go and start up the game i would just get a black screen and it would crash. so honestly i gave up on it and now i got lspdfr on gta v and that working perfectly fine. im sorry if it seemed like i was being disrespectful, i wasnt tryna be twards you directly i was more mad at the game and how confusing stuff is to get it working properly. ill probably give it another go eventually but for now im good on it. im new to pc so everything is completely new to me and hard

@@Guardian_023 most def man, honestly that would probably help out a lot of people me included lol especially the people who are new to pc and who just starting to get into modding. games like fallout 4 are super easy to mod but with gta you almost need someone there with you to walk you through it because it can get quite tedious and confusing (for someone new to pc like myself) thank you for everything though, ill give it another try again soon. ill sub and keep an eye out for another video as well :)

More than likely your advanced hook is now out of date. Use a different one from one of the mods until it works. View the troubleshooting section of the video.

It could be a step you missed while downgrading... or a multitude of things. When I downgraded a few months ago I did have to do a fresh start after it messed up once. If you downloaded lcpdfe check its troubleshooter and its log file
Hopefully someone sees this but, when I'm finished with the downgrade it keeps saying game must be launched via launchgtaiv.exe except this doesn't even exist??? FFS I just wanna try out this mod :(

Your anti-virus may be too strict and might have to be disabled.

Is there a downgrader for 1.2.059 already? All the ones I have seen are for 1.2.043
The one i have linked worked when this video was recorded. So give it a try

Try snagging the one in the complete edition update on lcpdfr. [I dont think you need the full update, just the hook]

Mine try’s to make me sign up for a live account and just gets stuck on the screen when I try to boot up gta 4

I made a new video on getting multiplayer working. The video doesnt include mods... but the gist is- as long as your files are the same... you play like normal gta multiplayer.

I have the legal copy of gta 4 but every time I try yo downgrade it never works. So I downloaded a cracked version off of DODI REPACKS and thats the only way I got gta 4 to start up but how would add the mods in the 4:39 ? do I just install each induvial off the internet?

im playing on a fresh vanilla steam version and the downgrader forces me to select the executable file of IV, when I click next the yellow error M5 something appears telling me my version is modded. the only extra file it contains is my commandline txt file with one line of code that forces the game to display my real graphic card memory

I know Zolikapatch allows you to access the DLC menu like usual despite the downgrade but I dont know if it's compatible with LCPDFR, what I'd personally recommend is have a folder of GTAIV specifically for LCPDFR, ELS, and LCPD adjacent stuff then another GTAIV and it's DLC that's for the other stuff that wouldn't work normally with LCPDFR

The ini files inside your directory. They can be anywhere in those folders or in the root directory. Google is friend.

Whats up man i tried to dowgrade but the bar ended up being yellow im 99% sure i deleted all of the mods and i uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Not sure what to do from here. i continued its missing a file and when i lunch the game steam automatically updates the game i cant get past it
Yellow bar means something isnt right. It could be: not up to date, you have just 1 unoriginal file or more, it also cant be installed on an a or b drive I think, and more. You can go to steam and verify its files... or better yet: just unninstall, go to where it was installed... delete everything... then restart your computer. Install the game. And the game wont update if you use the playgtaiv.exe. you can also tell steam to not update the game by right clicking on it... theres a dropdown for it somewhere in those menus.

I got the updated advanced hook from the complete edition from lcpdfr but it still displays the same issue in logs.
Since we are downgrading I dont think youre aiming for the complete edition hooks... I could be wrong... I honestly wish I could remember what hook I ended up using in the troubleshoot section of my video...

i tried downgrading my game and downloading lcpdfr like 100 times already but when im downgrading it it says that i may have a
modded directory everytime. I tried reinstalling the game and launch it again but it still says the same thing i ignored it and i actually downgraded my game but when i tried downloading lcpdfr it either says that i dont have xlive.dll or it just shuts down when i launch the game. i even checked if everything is ok and it is. i thought my computer might be bad but thats not possible because my computer runs gta 5 with lspdfr, 3 graphics mods and like 20 more mods.
Make sure to delete gta 4 from steam. Go to your folder where gta 4 is... delete the entire thing. Then restart computer. Re install and do the entire install textbook.

Make sure to follow every minute of the video because this mod is old, the game is old. Getting it to work requires a lot of nuance. Also view the troubleshooting section of the video where I cover some things I missed, some things you may need to do, and other info.
Can anyone in the comments tell me why there's so many suspicious files in the LCPDFR files? I ain't touching this until I'm told, there's stuff like trojan malware, Not-a-virus which is clearly suspicious as all hell, can I be explained as to why? Is it a bug or what?

I believe LCPDFR has on their website that their mod files can trigger antivirus and I think they wrote why... as long as you are on their site I think it will be fine... just dont download any UNOFFICIAL mods that trigger antivirus...

You need some form of cars mod for els to work. You can bypass your antivirus but if you dont feel safe doing that just find a different els supported pack- install instructions should come with.

i downloaded the cars the els and the police mod now i cant even run my game because in the settings it says resolution 120mb when before i downloaded anything it was 2k mb anyway to fix that? my laptop is the asus tuf gaming fx504 series if you want to know

Ive never had an issue with steam updating gta 4. Just make sure you are using the playgtaiv.exe thing in the files

More than likely your advanced hook is now out of date. Use a different one from one of the mods until it works.

try stealing the hook file from the gta 4 complete edition upgrade mod. Should be on the front page of lcpdfr.
gta 4 is not optimized in any way and often lcpdfr installation gave me a problem
Lcpdfr alone on gta 4 when installed correctly works almost all the time. If you want to further explain your issue I'd be more than happy to assist.
Why is it just a black screen after downgrading
It could be a step you missed while downgrading... or a multitude of things. When I downgraded a few months ago I did have to do a fresh start after it messed up once. If you downloaded lcpdfe check its troubleshooter and its log file

You can find the lcpdfr keybindings in one of the files in the mod, theres also some online. Some features dont work anymore.

Hopefully someone sees this but, when I'm finished with the downgrade it keeps saying game must be launched via launchgtaiv.exe except this doesn't even exist??? FFS I just wanna try out this mod :(
The EXE does exist, make sure to follow the video... sometimes the exe might be called "Playgtaiv.exe" instead. Just peek around in the directory.
