A few things I missed about the video:
• at 2:35, I meant to say “Swift” instead of “Skylift”
• at 12:55, you can also see the difference on Ray - he has his pants brown from TLAD on the modded version, but pants blue on default
• Jim Fitzgerald from TLAD also was replaced in GTA 4 for the mission “No Way on the Subway”
• Niko’s hair is noticeably darker hair in the EFLC than he does in IV.
Btw you also forgot to mention that in EFLC, Niko has darker hair than he has in IV.

Could you please make a tutorial on how to install the Character Fixes mod? The mod author's English in his README instructions weren't that good. I'd have better luck watching a tutorial instead of figuring it out on my own.
The main reason Johnny looks so different between GTA 4 and EFLC is apparently because at some point Johnny was planned to have customizable clothing options similar to Niko and Luis but this was cut. One of his clothing options was his vest from the base game.
I see, wow, that makes sense. I wonder why they’d take that out of the equation for TLAD.
@@NotAJprobably to keep it true to his nature, he’s a biker, and he becomes the president of the lost, not much clothing options for him as he always need to rep the gang, Plus his mode is more for extra story not so much content besides bike fixes races and gang wars unlike the ballad of gay Tony which adds story and more content
R* should've kept Johnny's and Jason's appearances still the same but with all the patches in the side games as in the main game. Johnny looked scarier and more like a biker in the main game.
Well really in gta iv Johnny is using a earlier model and it's obvious when compared, just like luis if you compared him from gta iv to that point you will see the differences.
Man… I barely get notified of replies, sorry 😥 But that makes sense. See, even though he’s transitioning to Pres mid storyline, it would’ve been nice if certain threads or cuts could be worn (like a hoodie with a Lost MC vest on top of it) 😉 Wouldn’t that be cool?

The episodes from Liberty City Vehicle pack should add the multiplayer exclusive cars from The Ballad of Gay Tony and the unused cars from The Ballad of Gay Tony and the Lost and Damned from any trainer

Imagine a GTA 4 remake where you can switch between all 3 characters like GTA 5.
That would be SO awesome...
That would be really cool but it might not work at all or at least not without significant reworking. I'd say because the game was intended for that given how the missions take place simultaneously or at the same time. They have different world states. It wasn't written with character switching in mind like GTA V where the story is one and the same. The GTA IV protagonists have stories that interwine but are separate.
and have story all over the place unfocused, have the characters change their clothing all the time and find them with missing cars, I am going to pass on that.

@@NotAJwhen you make the “how to install video” you should add that it works with Liberty Rush + Potential Grim + Various pedestrian actions, but you have to use an archive given by someone in the mod comment section to make it work!
I just realized the Rhapsody car is named that because it looks just like the car from Wayne's World where they sang Bohemian Rhapsody in 😅

It's also taken Driver Parralel Lines (they had an AMC Pacer named the Rhapsody with a very similer model) as GTA and Driver had some rivalry back then
If the do a GTA IV Definitive Edition, hopefully they add this, and the GTA V Weapon and Radio Wheels.

one thing about the DLC characters not looking like they did in the DLCs in the base game I believe they were beta models for them initially because the only thing they changed with Tony in "Diamonds are a girl's best friend" is the sun glasses whereas Luis had a complete character model change and same goes for Johnny in his appearances in missions but Jim made 0 sense especially since his voice was completely different
I love this insight on the importance of the discontinuity between the DLCs and the game. Thanks for sharing!
So one thing to note about Jim and his ‘appearance’ in “No Way On The Subway”… In GTA IV, his ped model in the GTA 4 files indicate that he would’ve been the biker who’s bald, also bulky-looking, and has the tight t-shirt on. However, when Johnny meets with Jim at that same alleyway in “Collector’s Item”, before Jim’s death takes place, to hand Jim the money, we see that same ped model but also Jim Fitzgerald. This tells me that the ped model that would replace Jim Fitzgerald in “No Way on the Subway” would actually be the other biker, the one with the long hair and gritty-looking face, who doesn’t actually speak at all and gets killed easily first. That’s what I’ve noticed, and the character fixes mod actually recognizes that by having an alternate version (more canon version) of the ped model that’s supposed to actually be Jim. So after all, he’s not the bald 👨🦲 biker guy. And it seems Rockstar made a mistake when identifying his ped model name when developing the game from the get-go.
I hope this makes sense too. Again, thanks for sharing - I really love how others are just as immersed as I am ❤️
Tony did have an overall model overhaul. He has better polygon count, textures, and rigging (and as you mention different glasses).
Same goes for the others as well that had a rework/overhaul with they designs in EFLC.
@@NotAJ that makes sense I always figured Jim was a placeholder NPC but never knew which one so I suppose that's just laziness on Rockstar's behalf then and I did notice Tony had a slightly better model recently after looking a bit closer and I also noticed Luis' voice is much more different than in Niko's story which definitely gives off signs that he was a beta model with a possibly tweaked NPC voice since his voice is a little deeper in TBoGT
nevertheless it's great knowing content creators like you even give this game love because the mass ridicule I've seen this game get irks me hoepfully you'll have a tutorial on how to install this mod properly because the guy I'm watching a vid from made a 45 minute video with no commentary and it's hard to wrap my brain around as I'm new to modding games lol
my fanon is that the fat white biker named "jim" in GTA IV is not the real jim, and the real jim used the death of the fake jim to fake his own death and escape liberty city from ray.

9:00 With the disparity in appearance, I like to imagine that's how each character remembers the events of what happened. Luis obviously knows Tony and Gracie's face better than Niko remembers their faces
Ahhhh, I see what you’re saying - but I think from a ‘reality’ POV there’s that aspect of keeping it consistent with the same clothes and faces :)

But then why would Luis manage to remember Johnny perfectly, having only ever seen him twice, unless the dude has eidetic memory.

I can totally understand. Even the creator himself does confirm that the installation is complicated. What troubles are you having with it in particular?
@@NotAJ oh i already installed it:], it is a wonderfull mod but really fragile if u want to install more mods to immerse urself even more, the most tricky part for me was the fact that u kinda need to delete the tbogt and tlad folders

Vehicle handling was also ever so slightly different in each game but that could be chalked up to different characters

All I really desire are the map elements (I need them to be enterable), the regular traffic cars and bikes (don't need ones that are via favours like the APC, Buzzard etc), character fixes and making the handlebars work on bikes. So being available in separate parts would work best for me

I have considered doing a video tutorial on these mods, yes :) It may not be anytime soon, but sometime in the future. However, it is advised that these mods not be used in the 1040 version. They are specifically for 1070 and 1080, I believe. And also - thank you for the kind words! Those two are really good content creators as well. Thanks again :)

I never understood why Rockstar didn't update character models (Johnny, Luis, Tony, etc.) on GTA IV after the EFLC released. (Probably laziness)
That's my assumption with that as well, just pure laziness for such good writing for a storyline. Pretty disappointing, if you ask me.
probably because it didn't really negatively affect the gameplay, the important part of the game that's fun you know? sure discontinuity is a bit annoying, but its just a visual difference that doesn't affect anything realistically. game dev is not just a simple "i want to do this in game so i will put it in game" its a huge collaborative effort and if they felt they couldn't fit that work in, then so be it.
IF and only IF. I want R* to this is kind of work with a complete edition if they ever do to celebrate 10 years. Combation of different mechanics and gameplay both shared between two versions. Great amazing mod. Thanks for showing.

I have been using this mod for 1 year. No bugs so far. Everything works fine and muzzle flash also works. Also have the eflc peds installed

I rarely install mods on my PC games but GTA IV is one of my favorite games ever and these mods are really cool to combine with the base game and the DLCs. Does the character fixes mod also replace the GTA IV voice lines with the DLC versions? Luis specifically has a much heavier accent in IV than in TBoGT.
Unfortunately, they do not. I know what you mean too, and it is relatively evident in the Museum Piece and Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend. I think it would require a lot of work and editing just to make that possible, only because those sound files for the cutscenes aren't cut into different pieces, it's all in one recording/audio file.
I think Rockstar should've done these changes in The Complete Edition but they ain't gonna bother. Potentially it would've been a great addition.
It would’ve been EXCELLENT to have these. And it’s not like any of it is exclusive. When you get the newest edition of GTA 4, you get the DLCs with it. So all of it should be inclusive :)
I wish rockstar would just release a remake of gta 4 adding all this and having the charachter switching between the 3 protagonists of gta 4 and adding the gta 5 car customization and clothing customization along with more clothing shops and clothes for all the 3 protagonists but you know that wont happen at all.
All these years waiting for gta 4 to come back on consolles(playstation for me) just to have a port probably,counting all the references gta 4 had these years in gta online it will probably really end up with a simple port
I've always wondered why they haven't ported the game to the PS4/PS5 yet. It's so strange, considering that Grand Theft Auto IV would boost in sales for them. Unless they have some type of special deal with XBOX all these years (given their cameos at the end of each GTA IV DLC trailer), I can't see why they've ceased upgrading their games on the newer PlayStation consoles.
weird, some of the weapon demonstrations in this vid have their muzzle flashes missing, notably the sawn off shotgun and LMG
I've noticed that as well. I believe someone said there's a fix to it. I haven't tried it and sadly got lazy in doing so hahahaha, but yes, there is a fix for it.

Now we just need a character wheel system like in GTA 5 so that you don’t have to exit the game every time to switch characters

You'd think that's what would've and should've happened, right? Sadly, they didn't do that. I don't know why. For a game that has such good writing for a storyline, you think they'd make some improvements by updating the character models and (as you've said) incorporate the content from the DLCs into the main game.
Tbh I cant really rely on my modding skills with GTA Games coz they're too far complex. I hope you can give us a tutorial for this mods since ive crashed a lot for installing TACE. It is a hassle and cool for how you are able to insert DLC weapons in the base game.

I've noticed TBoGT looks crisper graphically. Did the game technically look better than GTA IV? If so, would it be possible to import GTA IV and TLaD into TBoGT? Or too much work? If only a mod allowed to switch between the characters like GTA V while also maintaining all individual missions. But maybe have it so you can't progress unless you've done the necessary missions with each. That way you come to the point where everyone does the same mission with the diamonds exchange.
You're absolutely right about that, TBOGT does look crispier in terms of how the game looks as opposed to GTA IV and TLAD. You can see that between the comparison on the cutscenes. It's not the visual/color filter, I know that for sure, but might be something shader-related :)

I think it’s almost difficult to do so considering how many collaborative mods exist on the earlier patches.

seeing as i'm playing GTA IV for the first time, should I finish the game and the dlcs without using mods like these or would it make my first experience even better? (i'm loving it so far, I can already tell I'm gonna like it more than V)
To be honest, I’ve found that having these mods ruins less of the immersion. But, mods can make the game super fragile. So it’s really up to you! If it turns out to be a problem, then I wouldn’t ruin your experience.

@@NotAJ no problem. Would you ever consider doing a video on how your mod combination looks as well as your install folder and such? I notice many people are interesting in modding this game now, such as myself, but it’s confusing with the mods you can and can’t combine. Some people say to run 1.0.4 and it’s not true that it won’t work with a lot of mods, I downloaded a mod pack just to see if that’s the case. Anyways, between all the GTAIV mod channels, we dont really have a proper mod pack or combo discussed for 2023. Maybe that could be your niche, it would get a lot of views and help a lot of people.

Anyone know how to get the parachute working and installed for IV and TLAD? Have ZMenu and if I toggle it on it shows up, but I can’t wear or deploy it. LOVED this playthrough with all the EFLC content though, way to go for sure

R* should've just added the downloadable content to the main game and rereleased it as a truly complete edition with RDR(D)1's graphics in 2010 and kept Johnny's and Jason's appearances still the same in the downloadable content games as in the main game but with all the patches. Johnny looked scarier and more like a biker gangster in the main game.
I agree with you wholeheartedly. It's a mystery as to why they didn't add the downloadable content in the main game to get rid of that insane loop-hole of a mess that I've remedied in this video.

I like to ask, does the first mod compatible with Improved animation pack? And it is going worked with Liberty's Legacy Trainer?
I am almost certain that they should be able to work with these mods just fine. However, I do believe that TACE may cause an issue with the mods. Find out if any of the files conflict first.

If only you could mod the game to have a character switch system, where you could experience the three stories in one playthrough.
That would be nice, I agree - only loophole I see with that is experiencing all the three characters’ unique cutscenes and dialogue. That’s what made GTA 5 a little hard for me, but had a lot of replay-ability behind it. I wanted to go back and listen to all of the characters’ dialogue for all the missions they had collaboratively.
Would it ever be possible to implement character switching where you don’t have to load into the separate games between gta4 and its dlc’s
That’s what I would’ve hoped, but I have a feeling it’s not feasible or possible to do. It’s a lot of technology needed on a game this old unfortunately. I would be shocked if someone could though :)

I downloaded the first two mods in the link. Copy and pasted the files and added with OPEN IV the IMG files. When I try to open the game, in the starting a new game screen some stupid circus músic starts to sound and remain there forever without starting. I even tried to load the game without the second mod but the problem continues. I’m using 1.07 versión, please help!
Is there a mod that brings activities from EFLC to GTA 4? f.e.- golf, cage fight and armwrestling?
Unfortunately, not right now. It would probably take a lot of work to get the script files for those activities to work in GTA IV. At some point hopefully this will be made available :)
Hi. I have 2 questions about the weapons and the interiors mod. 1-How can i get the weapons from that mod in the game. Can i buy it in the Ammunation or find it in the street? Or i have to get the weapons with a list mod?
2- Can i play the activities like dancing in the night clubs from TBOGT or play the games in the Lost and The Angles of Death club in GTA 4 with that interiors mod?
Sure, these are two great questions!
1. The weapons are obtained in many different ways. Some TLAD ones are found at The Lost clubhouse. The other ones would require a trainer.
2. This is not possible at the moment. Maybe in the future it could :)

Thank you! And I think that it's going to be "The Complete Liberty City (IV + EFLC Map Mix)". That's the one that incorporates all of the map-based features from EFLC.

I feel like this is impossible to program. No one will be able to accomplish this. They're all different games merged into one. That's why they load when you launch them.

I know the download installation for TACE can be complicated. How I've done it is download the necessities. Things like the TBOGT and TLAD folders aren't necessary to download if you already have them at your disposal (since they're folders that you might already have from newest version of GTA). And from there on, I just install the rest.

Are The Actual Complete Edition and The complete liberty city compatible with each other? Are there any files that's overwritten by the other one? Gillian states in his guide that Actual Complete Edition replaces The Complete Liberty City. Did you have any problem using both at the same time?
I’ve noticed that blending the two hasn’t caused me any problems. And as far as I’m concerned, the mods shouldn’t conflict with each other. I think the reason why Gillian said that was because for TACE to work, you need to install TCLC. This is because TACE puts working pedestrians from the EFLC in those interiors.

I am afraid that they might not. Although they all have the base game + DLCs, downgrading the game may be required for better modding capability.
After 12 years I have yet to get the second middle city to unlock after completing and maxing everything I can find. What am I missing?

I have not seen a new mission in the past 2 years. I just gave up after completing Brucie rides in the helicopter. Car races, etc. The game stopped telling me what I should do next. So I am at a loss with no indication of what I should do. I have heard of a playboy mission but no sign of that character. @@NotAJ

I'm disappointed that there is a lack of actual tutorial or documentation for the Actual Complete Edition Mod.
I followed tutorials for installation to the T, testing the game before and after copying the files over, and after copying the files to the game directory, many of the in-game interactive items (think of vending machines, bowling alleys, car washes, hot dog vendors, pool tables, computers, etc.) do not work which greatly reduces the enjoyment of the game, and makes story progression impossible.
Proper documentation for installation or at least a disclaimer that certain things may be broken is a bare minimum.
Edit: Even the mod for adding DLC map content does not work. I followed the provided instructions, and yet, none of the content will load into the game.
A general tip of advice for especially doing this is to always start a fresh save of Grand Theft Auto IV. This generally happens with most mods that you use that would either add or restore certain items into the game. Give this a try and let me know if it works (you’d need to delete/take away your current save from the folder that it’s in and make sure that folder is wiped clean for a new save).
As far as the DLC map content, that is strange that it’s not loading.
At some point in the future, I will try to create some type of tutorial :)

Really good question. Since RevIVe is a mod made for Patch 1040 at the moment, it will not work with some of these mods. Reason being is due to these mods having the 1070 compatability.

Hey there! What do you mean by vanilla vehicle add-on pack? The vehicles from the EFLC have been ported with this mod.

Especially, when you place them In the contrast to Tony and Grace, who still look very close to themselves just with lower polygon count and different clothes, I actually don't mind Tony's dark sunglasses and Grace's black jacket, it fits them well. I also wished that we could those beta outfits and shoes as Johnny and Luis.
