  • My first video of 2021 is a bit of a bittersweet one...
I just wanted to sit down and explain what's been going on and a big change for me. It was a really difficult decision and pretty hard to film as you can see...

I am 58, been riding since I was 5. I trained my first horse at 20 so well, that I started training so many other people's horses, that within 5 years I burnt out. I pulled out and kept my horses and realized that they are my happy place and got a regular job. What I have seen horse people that do not train, not understand that the relationship you built with the horse is sacred. Please, have something in writing that if she ever cannot keep the horse that it goes back to you, and that if you really regret selling her you have the option to buy her back or maybe even co own her 50/50.
Sending you a big hug and much love.❤🐴

When a love of horses evolves into being a professional horse woman; training and business can bring unexpected changes! Your passion will experience a lot of ups and downs but you will really grow with each experience. Being able to place a loved horse into the hands of the right person can be an actual goal that also takes maturity and passion! Sad but ok....when you watch the growth of that pairing succeed you will experience a grand feeling of having been a part of it! And smile...with a full heart!

Not excessive at all. It is an insight into the heart and mind of true, kind and supportive involvement with an animal(s) you love.
Too many people never get to have that kind of connection. So many don't even know it can exist.
Your video illustration of the way you feel is confirmation to those that have experienced it (bring back lovely memories) and a glimpse into what's possible for those that haven't experienced it.......yet.
May more folks search for that affirmation of life thru seeing your journey.

This is exactly what I did with my first mare. I didn’t sell her I gave her to another little girl for her birthday and it was the best day of her life. That’s how I got her. I got her on my birthday, it was definitely the best day of my life. I was moving and my mom refused to let me keep my horse so I decided who we got to give her to. And I decided that they didn’t have to pay for her. Because no amount of money could buy her. I just had I know she was going somewhere that cared for her as amazing as we did 🥰🥰

I was the same way naming my twh mare. Id been seeing her ad online for a month or so before I was ready to actually purchase. I was keeping my eye on this little chocolate colored mare with the flaxen mane and tail for so long, I was referring to her as Little Miss Chocolate. When I finally got her home I couldn't for the life of me think of a good name! Our vet put a tentative "Miss Chocolate" on her records with the assumption that I'd give them her name when I came up with one...whelp...6 months later...her name IS
    Miss Chocolate💖🐴💖

Such a hard thing to do. You're so mature and brave to be able to recognize that even though a horse can be so loved and important to you, that sometimes, even though we love them, sooooo much, that they would thrive more with someone else. I'm in a very similar situation with a gelding I own. He's my baby, he's the sweetest thing in the whole world and lights up my day everytime I walk outside. But just like you, time, life, energy, whatever it may be, sometimes it's just time to consider that someone else that would take him to the next level and give him the life he deserves. Lots of love and good vibes your way. Virtual hugs!!!

I've had horses since but none will ever replace the special place she holds in my heart. I suppose that is what makes them our heart horses. I am looking forward to watching you journey this year. I can imagine that you will have a lot of adventures and you will bless a lot of people with your talent and experience. xo

I'm 31, and I've had this happen twice in my life now (And my first heart horse even looks almost exactly like Calypso!) and still stay in touch with both new owners of the two horses, and everyday theres such a heartbroken sadness that they arent mine anymore, but they are SO loved in their new homes so seeing pictures with them and their new owners learning new things together and with such strong bonds does take the knife out of the wound. I dont know if it ever goes away, but our eharts are always capable of growing for someone or something new. Not sure if you can have ANOTHER heart horse, or just more horses that are very near and dear. Maybe in time they become a new heart horse? Just like your relationship partners, I don't think we all only have 'one' soul mate. It is possible to find true and intense love again.
But the eyars waiting for them and being without them... are the quiet times. :( I'm in that time right now and don't see when it will end or when I'll meet my new heart horse. :/
Makes you appreciate what you do have, and your everyday, all that much more though doesnt it?

Showed m, team penned, parades, hunted off of m n last but not least got a DUI on m back n my rowdier days . Even had m inside a bar but he didn't favor drinking beer . Off topic, Early Fall, when the number of COVID positive cases in the Congregate Living Resident's Facility, where I work stopped and steadied, I could return to individual Natural Horsemanship Lessons. After week two, I put it out there that I really needed relaxation and stress relief time with Zak the horse, which, they wonderfully transitioned the lesson to, and it's now a lesson option offered alone of with family no more than four members. I also lifted my first four horse feet and picked one (need more bending holding stamina...keepin it 100...and larger pant size). I'm praying for warm reassurance reminders that you did what was best and grieving is an important process. Thank you so much, Laural

Im so sorry girl! Its hard, but hopefully you can still see her and know how she is! I wish the best for you and Calypso! ❤️❤️❤️ Hopefully you will get another one to add to your 2! Payers girl! Hope you get to see each other often! ❤️❤️❤️ Im sorry to bring this up on such a sad occasion but can I get a tip on a horse that will not go were you are wanting it to and it rears up and turns around and runs home. I am having trouble with my new horse and she refuses to go anywhere. I have to walk her all the way down my ditch bank than ride her back or else she won't walk.

Sam you have to know she went to someone that loves her and will provide her a good secure home , your decision was best for the horse you will always keep her in your heart know matter what happens in your future she will remain with you.

I regret selling my horse/cob she was 13.2 hh mare and I am 5’8 so I was to tall for her💔 she was only 8 and love riding took me forever to find her (the home) and finally did thought it was going to be great but the girl that got her had to moved her to her moms midnight my cob got stuck in fence and passed. I feel like it’s my fault I could have kept her did not have to have another horse. Well..... I needed a horse that I could ride that loves being ridden my Qh is 14 i know it’s really hard sold her May 9th 2020 cried every day since

Don't give up!!! Sometimes you can't control situations in life but you can control your mindset and actions. You attract whatever you think/feel so stay positive and whatever is meant to be will happen!😁
