A good manager needs to have a football philosophy but, at the same time, also need to adapt to the ability of his players. If his players don't have the ability to play a certain type of football, it would be absolutely stupid to force them to. You just can't take a Moyes team and play like City or the Galaticos. You will be embarrassed. You can evolve into a possession based attacking team, but you need time to evolve and bring in players, moving on those who can't play that way. But it's not going to happen overnight. Therefore the football has to change, has to evolve. Can't just say, we're going to play this way, and that's it. No matter what. That's why Spurs are losing all the time. And embarrassingly as well.
