I think it also depends on the car you drive. I have an old W124 sedan and it is only driven in summer when its not raining or wet outside. Nearly every tire „grips“ on dry surface and it’s not a racecar so i don‘t think some pilot sports would make any difference to my cheap nankangs. Good video tho👍🏼

I’ve had person experience with 3 A/S tires and 2 Summer tires. Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring, Goodyear Integrity, and Yokohama Advan Sport A/S. The Yoko’s were the most expensive A/S I’ve purchased @ $176/tire, as the other two were both sub $100/tire, all sets brand new. I never noticed much noise with the Uniroyals or Goodyears, but the belts shifted on the Goodyears after about 10k miles, they both also would slip in the rain when leaving from a stop. The Yoko’s however never gave/give me any issues in the rain, even in the snow they never really slip unless it’s covered in ice. The Summer tires were Nitto NT555 G2’s and Bridgestone Potenza’s, $100 difference per tire. I was constantly breaking traction in the NT555’s through multiple gears and couldn’t feel like I could push the car in the corners. I mounted the Potenza’s and the car hooks really well, no real issues under load, stays planted very well in the corners

Did some research and realized General is the same as Continental. After some months of city driving with a bit of spirited drives here and there, they’ve been great tires for daily use! Great in the rain and light snow too. If anybody is looking at “cheap” tires for daily driving I’d recommend General 100%. i've run both cheap and good tyres. the price of the tyre is dwarfed by the condition. buy a full set and rotate them so when you change them you buy a full set again. as the tyre wears it loses grip and that can make your car understeer or oversteer. also different compound will do the same thing.

  • @AvroBellow

I've used many Chinese tires and the only thing that I find them lacking in is tread life. However, i only put 10,000km per year on my car. Having said that, the ride quality and performance was always fine. I've never had a problem with grip in rain or snow. I currently have Chinese summer tires and Chinese winter tires. It's far more dangerous to drive like a lunatic on expensive tires than to drive responsibly on cheap tires.
