Using Scottish roof method of sheeting roof with boards etc makes it so much easier ok slight cost but safer also as u can work off it

Agree but these tiles need to be fixed with battens. So if you’re using sarking as you say, you then need counter battens to go with the battens. Can make the build up a lot.

@@build-better-things was meaning sheeting rather than sarkin . But either way it gives that additional layer of protection rather than just a tile & membrane. Esp with all the crazy rain we get these days . any good projects coming our way

So what abutment ventilation did you use?

Thank you. How did you insulate the roof?

Insulation between the rafters and insulated plasterboard underneath. Ventilated cavity above breather membrane and underneath roof tiles.

Okay so you didn't choose for a warm roof?@@build-better-things

I wouldn’t use that arrangement for this type of traditional construction with roof tiles. You want to be fixing your tile battens directly into the rafters, not through insulation.
