  • The new Specialized Crux S Works 2023 combines light weight, rigidity and style into a dream for every gravel bike fan. The Specialized Crux Frame is one of the lightest gravel bike frames on the market if not the lightest. The frame is a perfect basis for building a super light gravel bike. This bike was built for a very large person for the components durability and comfort was a main focus, yet the end result is a very light, comfortable and durable gravel bike with 7560 grams. Building the S Works Specialized Crux for our Road Bike Channel was a lot of fun and the lightweight bike with the Campagnolo Ekar 13 Speed Groupset definitely is a highlight in our roadbike workshop.

    Hi what is the substance you are applying to the top of the steering tube at 2:25? I assume it's to hold the integrity of the carbon at that point.

    Never knew the s-works version could take mechanical. I thought it was only the standard 10r frames that could take mechanical. Like the regular Aethos frames.

      @alejandrogonzalezdelgado9212 Před rokem +2

      It would only take mechanical 1x groups, not 2x. If you’re going for 2x, it has to be either Di2 or AXS. I’ve got one on GRX 2x Di2 and its a super nice bike.

    Hey, is it 58cm frame? Is it the weight of the fork already cut to the frame or uncut? Thanks!

      It's a size 61

    Is that a SRAM universal derailleur hanger on that frame?

    • @roadbikechannel
      @roadbikechannel  Před rokem

      unfortunately it's not. It's a traditional dropout and not the UDH from Sram. You can see it pretty clearly at 0:24 with the tiny screw witch goes in the frame and not the massive bolt that goes through the frame into the derailleur/UDH.

  • @Luminator890

    why did he put the seatclamp on backwards? is there a technical reason for that?

    • @heath6041
      @heath6041 Před rokem

      If you pause at 0:11 the cut out on the seat tube is facing towards the top tube so it would make sense to have the clamp facing that way.

    • @roadbikechannel
      @roadbikechannel  Před rokem +1

      @@heath6041 perfectly right! aaaand thats really good engineering from specialized to have the cut at the front. This way there is no dirt getting into the seattube 👍

    But the undercover reason to have many spacers and stem with 3 bolts looks weird, at least not clear.

    Great build. I saw the frame has UDH so its possible to install the new SRAM Transmission groupset, isn't it? Would like to buy it with slightly changes. Is this possible. Please give me your contact e-mail.

      @roadbikechannel  Před rokem

      Hi Martin, sorry to destroy your dream.... unfortunately it's not. It's a traditional dropout and not the UDH from Sram. You can see it pretty clearly at 0:24 with the tiny screw witch goes in the frame and not the massive bolt that goes through the frame into the derailleur/UDH.

    Holding the torque wrench close to the bit end instead of at the handle, at 3:47, when applying torque on that stem will yield a different amount before the wrench breaks free versus the actual setting. Simple physics of applied force on a lever. Can cause significant over-torque...careful there.

    • @SODtv
      @SODtv Před rokem +1

      But he's still holding the torque wrench beyond the sprung loaded lever in this instance, he could be holding it anywhere along the handle and it would still click at the desired torque setting that's been dialled in.

    Spent about 500 miles on it and so far so good. czcams.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA Pros:1. Very light2. Solid quality build3. Fast delivery: It arrived 5 weeks earlier than expected.4. Easy assemblyJust a few cons but nothing major:1. Cheap tin tubes and had flat on first day... but not a big deal. I replaced the tubes.2. Seat is a bit uncomfortable but that's pretty much the same situation with most bikes.3. Seat post is a bit long/high for a smaller size 48 bike - had to saw 2 inch off to fit properly. The lowest setting is too high. The post locking system does not seem to hold well (perhaps because I saw 2 inch off).4. wheels are not tubeless compatible (from what I can tell)

      l'entretien est beaucoup plus facile, ce qui est particulièrement important sur un vélo de gravier, et le changement de vitesse mécanique fonctionne beaucoup mieux. De plus, il est également plus facile
