- In this video I'm building the lightest gravel bike in the World while making sure it stays strong, fully functional and looks great. That's why Crux S-Works frameset was modified for fully invisible cable routing and the bike was custom Cerakote'd into sand colour.

I really like your sense of perfection and love for all the little details. Please never stop doing videos like that. The community needs stuff like that.
Thanks man
What makes a build like this great is the attention to detail and the non-compromise method of choosing the components. :)
Its amazing how after watching this video you realize that these days all modern components are already lightweight, to make a ww bike you have to save grams on each and every part, just swapping lightweight wheels or going for top of the line groupset won't do the trick. Great video as always, respect!
Thanks! Yeah, exciting times!
Man, absolutely flawless. You should do a full dedicated video on the headset, expander plug and the cutout on the fork. I've subscribed just for that. Absolutely brilliant!!!
I love it when a new twisted wheels video comes out. These builds show how much scope there is for top bike brands to improve. I cant believe how much weight you took out of that derailleur, just an unbelievable level of knowledge on show. Hoping you get Ollie Bridgewood down to do a GCN review of it as well :-)
Thanks man! I hope so too 🤞🏼
It's 12.4 lbs in American. That's mind blowing for any bike, let alone a capable gravel bike.
Incredible! I'd love to see a follow up on all the parts after 5000km, on the aethos as well.
Build turned out really awesome. Absolutely insane weight for a gravel bike.
Inspiring! Beautiful choices and attention to detail. Love it. Well done!
Incredible build as always!!! I can’t wait for the next one!!!
This is gorgeous! Fantastic job-as always!
Again, just impressive 🎉❤ big inspiration not just for building a light bicycle but also for adding style!
congrats for the build, this bike is just insane!!!!
Those Elilee cranks are beautiful! Great final result! Bike looks insane!
Awesome build! Kudos!
Excellent build!!
i hope you enjoy it to the max!!!
Thanks! Will do 😃
That is very pretty and impressively light!
This is insane!!! Dude, you are building crazy cool bikes and go very deep into details to make them light.
I get so much inspiration from your bike builds! Your bike builds are the best 👌
clips of your son were heartwarming, love it
great achievement Oleg! Congrats on that great build!
Thanks!
Very nice! Good Job!
Great looking bike. Love the classic two triangle w all integrated look.
amazing balanced setup
I’ve been waiting for this so long! Redonculous build 😍
Thats actually impressive. Nice job
You’re a champ !!! All your builds are awesome
Best video since so far, that bike isn't only light but works properly as a normal bike! it isn't like most of the super crazy lightweight bikes. Well done Oleg!
Thanks Andrea! Your carbon clamps were definitely one of the highlights of the build 👏🏻
Your builds are awesome and the energy of your videos is always very nice, like you really like and truly understand what you are doing 👏👏
WOW !
Great project 💥💯💥
Awesome job 👏🏻
Unbelievable build - truly pushing the boundaries of what is possible within the industry!
Thanks!
Congratulations on your new build and a new subscriber. So so cool.
Thanks!
beauty of a build, been keen to see it for awhile now! insanely good looking, stupid light and so functional still 🤯
no words, EXCEPTIONAL
Such a beautiful build not only light and functional but looks fantastic!
Thank you!
I was looking forward to this video for a long time and you didn‘t disapoint. You‘re a master in what you‘re doing. Please never stop to inspire us all. Now I can work on my crux build 😅
Thank you! 😃
Just WOW!! Salivating here 😋 AWESOME BUILD! Please let us know how much did it cost you to build this machine. Thanks! =)
Amazing build❤
Man this is so impressive.
Everything is chosen with taste!
Such a shame that the Crux or the Aethos are not sold like that as standard.
Congrats!
Wow what an amazing build dude and your attention to detail is excellent.. subscribed 😊 Pete 👍👍🚴🏻
I love it! Built up a 6.7kg sworks crux, also with some bjorn goodies😊 but not all super light components, this is motivating me to trim more weight!!!
Masterpiece!!!
I love it! What an awesome project. I'd just love to see that bike in person so I could lift it up and feel how light it is! SUPER-COOL!
Absolutely stunning ..
thats insanely good
Impressive bike, but even more impressive video! Great job!
Finally the video 😮
impressive stuff
Amazing work congrats!! Whip specialized followed your trend of integrating the cables ;)
gorgeous rig.
very nice build
simple spectacular!
What a beautiful bike! Coupled with your best build video yet.
I didn’t know you had a tubulito discount either 🙌
I also can’t believe you took that derailleur apart. Totally worth it 👏
Thanks mate. Let’s organise a ride soon!
Amazing!
Excellent video, beautiful bike and clever use of components! I love that you can still send this weight Weiner down a gravel trail and not worry about breaking something.
Thanks man!
Would love to ride this bike! Well done! 😮
Top content!
Been looking forward to this video and watched it on the first hour it got released, awesome work and really bring some new innovation with some brand that we might not exposed to. One question, what is the compression plug that you use that allow the cable pass through?
Thank you! Expansion plug is Intend Smarty (size Large)
Masterpiece
Amazing build. Love the thoughtful decision-making along with great looks. Hard to believe that weight for a truly ridable gravel bike.
Thanks man! If 6 months ago someone told me that this weight was possible, I wouldn’t believe :)
Congratulations very light!👍
Mine is 13kg, 1l bottle, additionnal brake parts in seatbag, and i always take 3 tubes in case of...😊
Amazing. 😊
Unreal perfect build. Parts choice for performance is paramount to saving 130 g
so sick
Uh, I was very much looking forward to this build video and it did not disappoint! Absolute STUNNER of a bike! The CRUX is just such a beautiful frame. I'm very curious about the performance of the rotors and weather they warp easily. Two parts I'd probably change is the Yuniper Seat Clamp, as I've had this on a bike and it broke after about three rides. But maybe they've since improved the product. Also, I have bought the INTEND expander but didn't really feel safe enough to me in the end. I think the Specialized expanders are really nice to work with, I find... though I see you needed the hole in the expander for the routing... Anyway, fantastic build and looking forward to the ride report 😊✌
I’m waiting for Bjorn to release their 5.5g seat clamp in size 30.0mm and will swap it. I used intend on my Scott Spark full susp XC and it worked without issues, so I’m pretty confident. Rotors’ performance TBC
Ive wanted to do a lightest crux for a while but I have literally nowhere to ride a cx or gravel bike. Have to live with my worlds lightest madone slr9 in the mean while. amazing editing of the video, super professional job.
Thanks man
Oh yesss ! Some kinda perfection !! I believe I can cryyyyy 🤣 Amazing work like always. I love all the details # I just dont like the bi-colour bikes in general, but its a personnal taste. Im not sure the saddle would do it for me either lol ! Anyways, it makes me want to pimp my gravel bike now hahaha 👍 Two thumbs up and keep up the great work 😉
Thanks! The shape of this saddle fits my bum really well, so it works for me but might not work for everyone.
Lovely video mate. Lovely bike. Enjoy riding it and come back for a review ❤
thanks mate
Internal Routing Perfection. No bulks head tube or ugly stem. Kudos, bike industry take notes.
Thanks!
That looks fantastic, and does actually seem useable for an appropriately light rider.
Up to 95kg rider is fine.
@@TwistedWheels impressive!
Amazing
12.5lb functional race bike that looks long-lasting sic!!! So well done!
Thanks 👊🏼
impressive
Yes!
Amazing! When do we get to see you tackle an aero or tt bike?!?!
Don’t even start this conversation 🤣
Epic job dude , looks mega , i dread to think how much that cost to build 🤯
You should make the bike heavier, because in summer I think you would really like to have a second bottle cage ;)
I can live with an extra 8g bottle cage :)
i love to see ride videos of it
Even without the weightweeniesm, this build is awesome. The level of detail is just amazing.
Welcome to the future: Your S-Works Crux build is the 2025 Crux with integrated cabling.
Awesome build and details. Simply amazing! 😍
Haha, we haven’t seen the 2025 CRUX yet. Maybe my Crux is even better (definitely lighter!)
@@TwistedWheels honestly, I am more excited to see how your Crux performs. You‘ve entered a level of customization (optimization) beyond everything I‘ve seen so far. Incredible…or incruxable. 😀
Happy riding! 😊
Great build!
Question: Doesn't the length of the back brake hose (which is way less longer than if it was routed externally) limit the angle the steerer can rotate? Isn't the same true with the hole which the hose exits the steerer through to the frame?
I am planning to do the same type of routing but afraid of such consequences.
Thank you
I was also planning doing something similar but share the same concerns. @twistedwheels any feedback would be amazing. Thank you
Can you tell us where you got that internal steerer bolt clamp? Can you also do a video on how you modified your sram red rear derailleur? Love your videos by the way!
It’s Intend Smarty (large), you can buy it from R2-bike.
Rear mech modification video - could be a good idea, but not sure I’d have time to make a separate video about it :(
Hi ! Insanely cool project, I couldn’t even imagine that such a weight could be achieved. I know that prices may vary, but what is the approximate build budget? (possible without taking into account the frameset)
Beautiful build! I have the heaviest Crux build w/Fox fork + dropper post 🤓.
Can you expound a bit on the through-headset cable routing choice? Did it save/add grams?
Hi Peter, watch my previous video. It has all the details.
czcams.com/video/HYtn5m0V6vE/video.htmlsi=Qgz85rqdUv_Ax0SN
Very nice tyres! pity that it's out of production. What's the 2nd best if not that one? What's the deformation in the steering tube you mention? You insert custom carbon rim in it - I'm wondering if it compromises how well the stem holds the steering tube.
2nd best would be Schwalbe Thunder Burt, but they are 2.1” so won’t fit every frame.
Custom ring can only positively impact how stem is holding the steering tube as it is preventing it from flexing (at least in theory 😃)
hey man, nice build! anyway, where did u get that hollow expansion plug ?
R2-bike
Very nice build with so many custom touches. But the chain appears to be pretty long.
The chain is sized correctly. There was a small issue with the rear mech that has now been resolved.
it's awesome that this is an actual usable bike with very thoughtfully picked parts that you actually like and not another flimsy dangerous bikes that are just for exhibits
can you estimate how much stronger 4pot pistons are compared to 2pot brakes?
Thanks! It’s hard to estimate. But these are definitely stronger than Hope X2.
Amazing build !! Next time light wait steel gravel bike ?
Titanium ;)
Amazing job! Love the frame modifications. For the wheels, did you use the Light Bicycle carbon spokes? I have them on my AR24 w DT180 hubs (940g) & would be interested in your opinions. Even if you don't have these spokes, what do you think to the carbon spokes? how would you describe the ride feel?
From my experience, carbon spokes make the wheels stiffer, especially the low profile ones like AR25.
Durability is yet to be confirmed as these spokes came to the market only last year.
The “stiffer” comment is interesting & I’d love commentators to describe it better.
Riding the carbon spoke wheels - to me - you can feel every crack, bump and the texture of the road. I’d call it compliance (?) in the spokes.
They also have a snap on steep hills >10%. It’s an acceleration. Perhaps this is lower rotational mass? But maybe it’s the carbon?
new sub lovely bike, what was the final cost?
The SUB1-gram bar end plugs were meant for exactly this type of weightweenie bike build! And the headset spacer and dust cover looks very sleek. :)
For sure! Thanks for making them!
Great job! Where we can get those custom expansion plug?
It’s actually standard Intend Smarty plug that you can buy on R2-Bike
Scalpel precision. I love the recap where you show how you could have absolutely ruined/compromised the bike by shaving off another 150g. Epic.
niceeee, maybe front wheel should have tan wall gum? part with your kid was funny! thx for another amazing build
Thanks! There are so many tones of tan that it’s almost impossible to match the colour of the frame 🤷🏻♂️
amazing
nice built - regarding rear derailleur, you should try Hopp Carbon from Germany; they completely rebuild SRAM and Shimano derailleurs with their own carbon parts!
Have you watched the video? 🤣
