  • he Lapierre Xelius SL frame was first used by Team FDJ at the 2023 Tour de France and presented to the public. The frame is made from SLI DU carbon and is manufactured in different weights and stiffness levels depending on the frame height. In the lightest version, the raw frame weighs just 725g. Our frame for the Dreambuild weighed a light 914g in RH M when fully painted. The paint job on the frame was created in collaboration with Obvious, a trio of artists who use artificial intelligence to create their work.
    The bike was built very individually and impresses with many great details such as the very light Newmen wheels with Vonoa carbon spokes, a 1x12 drivetrain (10-33T is equivalent to a Campa 10-speed compact transmission with 34-50T and 13-29T cassette / 330% vs. 328%), the Hope brake calipers or the Nova Ride Cage and Pullys. The result, a beautiful and very light road bike that weighs only 6.89kg complete with SRM Powermeter pedals and SRM PC8 computer and bottle cages. All parts with weight are listed below. Enjoy the video.

    Super Nice build. Love the Hope calipers, I also have them on my bike. Such a good upgrade with the 4 pistons.

    Toller Aufbau ❤. 😂🚴

      Ja, über die haben wir uns auch schon amüsiert. Leider lässt sich da wenig machen, die sind ja überlackiert. 😅

    If you evel feel useless, think about the "Shimano" and "Continental" stickers on this frame. :D

    Cool build! Why did you not use the specific Hope front caliper? I think you wouldn't have needed the adapter then, right?

    • @roadbikechannel
      @roadbikechannel  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yes, you can mount them without the adapter but we ordered the calipers before we knew what frame they would be mounted on in the end. There are a few out there which come with special spacing and adapters (like specialized ) where you can only use the flat mount calipers. And on some forks with the front flat mount standard 160/180mm you end up with a 180mm disc since the RX4 calipers only comes with the +20mm option.
      It's perfectly right what you're suggesting, especially since the RX4 front caliper is a peace of art, but if you want to be absolutely sure it fits on your frame you better buy the flat mount version.

      Instant glue, closes off the end-grain cut of the tube. Not strictly necessary but nice to have.

    Why you don't hold your torque wrench only on the handle? It's not accurate like that ...

    • @roadbikechannel
      @roadbikechannel  Před 5 měsíci +3

      Yes it is. The torque mechanism is right at the front, only the lever is a lot bigger at the "real handle" and you could end up applying to much torque. This wrench is for a torque from 2,5-25Nm and we're at the lower end with 6Nm at the handlebars.
