One of her best was "I Remember Mama" which did well when it came out but "died" soon after.
Damn, I loved this unacknowledged classic!
Remove the word: "sadly".She lived a wonderful life by the choices she made.Her life was not sad.

I first saw her as a little girl in a movie called “The Mudlark”. She played Queen Victoria; it may have been her last picture,or one of her last. After that I became a huge fan. Over the years I discovered her wide ranging talent and was blown away by beautiful singing voice and comedic timing. She made “Life With Father “ and “I Remember Mama” very close to one another. Often TCM shows these films to celebrate Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. She performs so well in two such different roles that it’s difficult not to be impressed by her performances. She also showed her compassionate spirit when she was shooting “A Guy Named Joe”. Van Johnson,one of the leads, was in a serious automobile accident. He was even critical for a while and the producers thought that they should either shelve the movie or replace Johnson and reshoot his scenes. She knew that would end his career and possibly his will to live, considering his condition. She pleaded with all staff to wait for his recovery so that his “big break” could be realized. He never forgot how she saved his career. It’s always reminded me of the message in Frank Capra’s “It’s a Wonderful Life “.

Don't forget "I Remember Moma" one of most popular TV series in the 1950' and 60's on Black and White TV!!! It was great!!!
Peggy Wood played Mama in the television series; Dunne played the role (brilliantly) in the 1947 film.
