I love al my J-red saws. The ergonomics are much better to me than Husky or Stihl. My 2165 has a 24" on it as well. 32" on my 2186. Have a little 2145 w/18 that cuts way better than it should and I had a 2172 w/ 24 that I loved too.

Gidday from down in NZ. Awesome video. In my fencing business I run an 181 with a 30", a Makita DSC 4300 with a 16" and a Stihl MSC 200 (battery) 12". About 90% of my saw work is done with the battery saw! But today I just paid NZ$550 for a nice 365, and itll get a 20" bar with rough chain and be assigned root cutting duties most of the time. All the best - great channel and I hope to get to porting a saw after a bit more study.

Gidday! (Have family in NZ.. check out the pro mac 125 and Stihl 090 vids, they are in NZ) thanks for taking the time to comment. 365's are brilliant! Bet that 181 with a 30 is a nice saw.

Great work on the comparison James. 👍👍 Yeah the price of the 365/372s have gone crazy over on this side of the pond too. To add to the pain it seems folks are hoarding them up so not many around for sale either....

I'm glad I stocked up on parts saws over the years, as you say the 365/372 are making really strong money now. I was picking them up cheap a couple years ago.

Hope you found it useful! I must admit I'm hoarding a few but it's such a good chassis. There are bargains still out there but you have to look hard. That era was great, power was there but no auto tune or stratification.

@@walkerscountrylife I did see the 372 big bore on ebay had a stripped decomp it said. I got a 550 cylinder with a stripped plug thread from the same seller.
I got a Chinese 372 I a joblot, put oem crank, flywheel and coil amongst other stuff and put a Chinese big bore it buy not been run yet.
There's still bargains to be had, got a new oem 372 piston and cylinder on ebay last yr for £70!
Got 2 new oem 372 carbs the other day on ebay for £18 each!

@@bumpkinrocks Yeah I really like to watch The Tinman, The Iron Horse & Walt Afleetcommand but when they pick a saw to build on their channels the prices go thru the roof over here. I did manage to snag a couple of 372 parts saws and jammed together a Junk Pile build which seems to be all the rage these days....

@@walkerscountrylife Yeah I agree that there seems to be a few saw bargains to be had in your neck of the woods but the shipping across from the UK is a killer... Stock up on this chassis before the inflated prices get you too....

All very similar then taking in the variables, misjudged cuts etc. The Jonsered looked the weakest tho.
    You've got a similar collection to me don't have 262 but do a 257.
I don't have a Jonsered but do have a Stihl and 30 plus Husqvarnas.
I've been through and rebuilt all of them in recent years.
3 series I've got 362, 365, 3-4 372's and 1 more in the making from new oem parts.
    I've got 15 plus 2 series, must be 4-5 266's
Currently rebuilding 3 550's got another I did last year.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, yeah I've got a 357 too.. that was just a selection of saws I picked up.. I filmed a few videos and ran them all, more coming!
I think the 365 would have stretched out more of a lead with more consistent wood and technique. The 9 second run at the end it did was on much bigger bit of the log. I think it does show how chain sharpness and technique play as big a part as the saws power.

@@walkerscountrylife yeah got 2 357's and another on the way parts are hard to come by on those!
Restricting myself on expenditure abit at the moment been off work ill for 7 weeks now and will be a while before I recover to full working capacity.
