    If there's any lawyers out there watching videos relating to the poor design of the GMC engines and transmission there needs to be a class action law suit against GMC for knowingly setting up consumers to fail. I had to replace both my engine and transmission after 112,000 miles which is just over the warranty mileage and a few months after my extended warranty expired. The DOD/DFM/AFM and the transmission temperature sensor have been known failure issues since their inception. I've been a loyal American made car owner for over 47 years and will never own another one. Toyota Tundra here I come. All these ridiculous environmental constraints and regulations are just added costs to the consumer with no documented benefit to the environment. Total crap!

      I have 2016 Chevy Tahoe and as soon as I got it I had to replace the transmission and after 3 months it shakes at 45 miles so I don’t know what to expect from the dealer

    Just an FYI, software deleting the AFM/DFM does NOT solve the lifter issues. They still can and do fail with AFM/DFM disabled by software. I am one of many people that have experienced lifter failure with it software disabled. The ONLY way to get rid of it is a full delete kit with a new cam, lifters, and a vlom block off plate in addition to software. ,

    • @8020Media
      @8020Media  Před 2 měsíci

      They still can fail because you of course still have all of the AFM-equipped hardware in the car, like the special AFM lifters that are inherently problematic. But disabling it via software does still significantly reduce the likelihood of it happening, just doesn't completely prevent problems. But yes, only way to get complete protection is to do a full delete but I would recommend doing that only if you actually have a failed lifter first, otherwise the cost is tougher to justify.

    Getting a new engine because of DFM in my 2022 GMC Yukon. I wish I'd known about this sooner!
    Any guesses on how long my car will be in the dealership while we're waiting for the new engine?

      Dang that sucks, sorry to hear! I have no clue what dealership service times look like for this kinda thing right now but I'd have a hard time thinking it'd be less than 2-3 months realistically.

    I am from Romania, Europe.
    I intend to buy a GMC, Yukon XL, AT4, 6.2 gas, 2024.
    I want, from the beginning, to deactivate AFM/DFM.
    Which of the 3 presented methods do you recommend?
    I want the engine to become more durable, reliable and economical.
    Under what conditions can I make the conversion for Ethanol or LPG?

    Mine is a 2015 5.3. I just have been putting it in manual shift mode in 5th not 6th and it never goes into V4 mode. Shifts normally while driving too.

      E - Unfortunately, our Boost Disabler doesn't work on 2019+ Silverado's with the 10-speed. The DFM system works differently with the PCM programming on the 10spds. We’re working on something but for the time being there aren’t any solutions on the market outside of flashing it out.
