My uncle Lee Davis #9 I remember Billy Brewer coming to my grandmother’s home a few times during the recruiting process.
I was at the game, as a student I was a photographer on the field as I watched Ole Miss battle back I was on my last roll of film. When there was no more I packed my camera bag and ended up on the left sideline to watch the field goal attempt. I fell to one knee and said a prayer the God block the field goal. I'm sure there were many more prayers as well. This was a memory I'll never forget and the feeling by oh so many this was a divine helping hand. I was so lucky to be able to shoot ball games that year to see this.
I was at the game with my MSU friend. He brought a friend of his who was a freshman on the Mississippi State baseball team his name was Will Clark. Y’all probably heard of him
Great piece. I enjoyed all the interviews and vintage video throughout the show. I did get a chuckle at the news clipping that pops on the screen at the 10:19 mark. If you pause it, you can read where the article talks about David Cutcliffe, Jackie Sherrill and Deuce McCallister. The article had to have been from '99, which was obviously 16 years after the game this this documentary is about. It's a huge game every year. Who knows what we're in store for this season?.....
3 people from my hometown of Moss Point played in this game.Cornerback Kenneth Johnson and rb George Wonsley for my Dawgs.And George's younger brother Nathan Wonsley played rb for OM.All 3 played in the NFL for a long time.MP has so talent!
Mark I was there taking pictures on the sideline that game.. Great memories we had and are so blessed to have lived in a time of innocence.
I was there! Wonderful 5 yd line seats giving me perfect view of the kick. I could not believe what I had seen.
I was there but in the stands on the far opposite side of the field. We could seen the ball go up but then seem to stall and just drop back down. We didn't know if good or bad. Then we felt that breeze hit us in the face and saw the referees indicating a no score. Nice, just nice.
Good video, even if the wrong team won. I was at that game, and I can't think of another instance *ever* when something so bizarre happened on a football field. It still doesn't seem physically possible even when watching it.
It shows a great deal about State folks for refusing to take part in this. All you need to know.
I was at the game. State totally dominated 3 quarters of football and should have won. The Rebels found a way to fight back and get back into the game by taking the ball away. However, when Kelly Powell fumbled, State picked up the momentum and marched down the field like they started the game. I just knew we were going to lose and never saw the kick.. I remember the State fans getting really loud, then quiet. Then the Ole Miss side erupted.
My dad and I were at that game... I was "seeing" a girl whose dad was "with" the band!!! Awesome visit, and an equally awesome ending to the game... Miss those days, "young lady"!!! Hotty Toddy!!!

I was at this game also. I'll never forget this game. I've told about this game many times to many people over the years. Glad to see they made a whole show about it.
I remember several things about this game. I remember them announcing about the tornado warnings and the half drunk crowd cheered about it. I also remember when the announcer came over the P.A. and said, "May I have your attention please. I have a score: In the 3rd qtr; Vanderbilt 21 Florida 7. (That score may be off a bit but it was something like that.) And the crowd went crazy. I also remember high-fiving everyone around me during that comeback. And after that kick fell, everyone went out of their minds. It was crazy.
The next day the Clarion Ledger had a cartoon of the kick with the hand of God reaching down from heaven to block the kick.
I also remember well, when Ole Miss beat UT 13-10 that year. I watched that game from my dorm room and went with friends to the airport to welcome the players back.
