Absolutely I have .... It is a classic sandwich for sure , Love it.
Born and raised ìn Tampa. We use Salami ìn our sandwich. So sorry you can't get real Cuban bread. I would send you some, but it must be fresh, goes stale quickly. Love your show, Via Tampa. By the way, it was the cigar workers that created the sandwhich.
You would kill Cubans with that spicy mustard! 😂 looks absolutely delicious though.
Never had one and won't because I don't eat pickles.
I’ve had many Cuban Sandwiches and I have to say shredded pork is definitely the wrong move on that sandwich. Ive never one that didn’t have melted cheese either. Can’t get em all.
I am a Cuban American. That sandwich looks fantástico. Que viva Cuba. I am also a U.S. Army veteran. This country allowed my parents to prosper. So, the only way I can say thank you to this country, was to serve in the armed forces. Wish I could have had a bite from that sandwich. Thank you. God bless.
Thank you for your service to our great nation!! ❤️🇺🇸
@@kayelowe4333 thank you for your support.
God Bless You from a U.S. Army Vet.
What does your parents prospering and you being in the service have to do with the Cuban sandwich?

Cowboy, I'm a West "by God" Virginia boy and I say britches all the time. Cubano sammich looks delish. God bless you, your lady, and those precious pups.
Thanks and God bless you
The beloved Cuban sandwich is a delicious all-American culinary creation first served in Tampa, Florida, more than a century ago, according to proud local lore.
And the main thing you need is true Cuban bread. A must have.
Kent is an American treasure
thanks
No Mrs. Shan, britches isn't just an Okee, but Old School sayin. Bless your heart, ma'am, with a tip of the hat. 😂😂😂 Love ya'll so much. Keep up the fantastic work you do for your CZcams family!!! If I had to eat a brick, I'd trust you to prepare it. LOL!! Love making Cubano sandwiches, perfect on a hot night with a side of potato chips and pickles when I don't want to heat up the house with the oven!

Actually I am Cuban born in Cuba and now living in Texas (grew up in Miami). First of all, I want thank you for not putting any mayo on the sandwich I've been placed where I know I am in trouble when they ask if I want mayo with that. Loved your take on this loved sandwich. I also love your knowledge on the sandwich itself. We Cubans have sandwiches you have the Elena Ruth and Midnight Sandwich. If you like I can give the recipes. Thanks again by the way I forwarded your video to a Cuban page I am a member on Facebook. Told them I thought your take was awesome..
Man oh man would I pay to see his take on an Elena Ruth or Media Noche sandwich. Both of which have a special place in my heart!
The best thing about the Cubano is there's a hundred different variations and they're all delicious. It's one of those things I have to try first any time I see it on the menu at a new restaurant.
When I saw this, i was thinking what a perfect 'base' this is for a 'pimped up' variation.
Cuban American US Army vet here, you nailed it friend! All you needed was the Cuban bread but you probably can’t get it over where you are at. God bless
as a cuban. i have to say great job. that cubano looks amazing. i have made this same sandwich a few times for my friend and you did it perfectly. thanks for showing some of my culture to the world

An A+ to your Cowboy Cuban sandwich, from a Cuban born Miami Resident. Excellent description of the recipe, accompanied by traditional Cuban rhythm “El Son Cubano”.
Thank you Kent for praying tribute to our culture!
Glad you enjoyed it and it was our honor
@@CowboyKentRollins❤
I've had both the Miami and Tampa Cuban. You have to hot press them. Both the Miami and Tampa Cubans are really good. I grew up here, 65 years, I've lived in both places. A real Cuban sandwich is soooo nice. They are not hard to make yourself. Sliced, seasoned mojo pork, some sliced ham, swiss cheese dill pickle, mayo and mustard. Yes toast the bun and then hot press it all. Kent does this right! Oh, more thing. Get some good Cuban bread. Good luck finding that past Miami and Tampa Bay. Tampa has some good Cuban bread.
I would like to have one fresh from either place
Cuban bread has a crunch but soft in the middle. @@osakarose5612
@@osakarose5612 Real Cuban bread is made with lard. The outside of the bread is crunchy but the inside is pillowy soft. Think like a French baguette and angel cake had a baby. I'm Cuban and I've never attempted to make this bread but...I think I might try now.
@@YoYoTippieToedon't forget the palmetto leaves. They're key.

This is my favorite cooking show, hands down. The joy of The Lord and good dancing too.
Cuban sandwiches are my all time favorite! If I go to any restaurant and they have one in the menu, that’s an automatic for me.
I sure like them
LOVE ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS GOD BLESS YOU BOTH AND THE PUPS
Thanks Debbie and God bless you
I am Cuban , and that my friend is the best Cuban sandwich I’ve ever seen. Good job!!!!!!
Army Veteran here from Boston. I was blessed to visit Lawton / Ft. Sill OK this past week for my son’s Basic Training graduation. I was thinking of “y’all” a bit. It was hot as Hades, but we enjoyed every minute. You and yours a breath of fresh air with every video. God bless you, Shannon and the pups!
We thank you and your son for your service and it is some of that hot here
There is an expression l have heard, used to people who have made you angry ... "You talking to me or chewing a brick, cuz either way you're gonna lose some teeth". A Cuban Sandwich sounds much tastier. Thanks Kent and Shan.
Yep my mother told me, nice will get you a long way in life, manners will get your further
Man, I love the part of the video when you dance!! That is a natural reaction and everyone should dance when something tastes that good!!
That is so true
A few weeks ago I suggested the channel start giving Cowboy spins to food from other countries instead of repeated steak grill shows. I am glad to see it’s happening!
Cuban sandwiches look like they won't work but one bite seriously smacks that argument down the drain.
They are DELICIOUS
So good they are
You did it! Now that’s a knockout. I remember making them from scratch bread and all for family meal out here when my team opened morimoto . None of them had ever eaten one and it’s definitely one of the best sandos. Being born in Florida and living in the keys back in the 80s. This was a fam favorite 🐸🍺🔪🔥
Thanks Johnny for watching
The Cuban sandwich was made for all the different ethnic people that worked in the factories witch were cuban Italian German Irish and Spaniard so you got bread ham salmi pork mustard swiss cheese and pickles each ingredient was from a different country all one sandwich is the just of it
basically from the old cigar factories to take to work in Ybor City.
I thought I recognised the Emmenthaler cheese
Cubanos are my favorite sandwich of all time, every time i make a pork shoulder youre guaranteed im gonna make some.
I sure like them
Que Cuba viva por siempre, todo comenzó en la hermosa ciudad de Miami. ¡Me encanta el estilo y la precisión de Cowboy Kent al hacer un sándwich tan maravilloso y delicioso!
Tampa is the home of the Cuban according to historians. I may be biased, Tampa has it on lockdown.
It was Tampa where it originated and the polish added a little twist to the sandwich by adding salami, I’m Cuban and live in Tampa
Relax Tampa, relajense Miami, I have also tasted it w slices of pepperoni instead of salami, all versions are great! This sandwich originated in Cuba, the problem is you would never find these items together for the last 60+ years...
I love Cuban sandwiches, but I'm willing to bet yours is better. Thank you again for taking the time to make this.
You are so welcome!
Cowboy Kent, I’m originally from Miami. This brings back memories. Back in the 50s and 60s, All the Cuban restaurants brought their broken “planchas”… a sandwich press/iron to my pop’s repair shop. You nailed the history and recipes so well… back then, sliced pork loin, ham, mustard, pickles, slathered in “oleomargarine.” Terrific fun in this video.
First time I had one was a walk up sandwich shop near the Miami Airport (circa 1980s, when I was a "road warrior"). Was hooked on them ever since.
So good they are
I always heat up two cast iron skillets for Cuban Night (or Afternoon); one for the bottom and one for on top. Yours looked awesome. I loved that you weren't stingy on the pickles! Me too. Don't forget the Media Noche sandwich. It is better.
Mr. Rollins I've never even heard of a cuban sandwich before, but you sure got my attention and GRANDKID'S have ordered me to make them!!!.And I must deliver!! As always Kent and Shannon wonderful informative videos!! Thanks to you both and your critters!! God bless & take care !!!🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for watching Frank and tell them kids I said howdy, God bless you
His Cuban is well mehhhh. He didn't even use Cuban Bread. The original Cuban was invented in Ybor City,an area of Tampa. The original is made with pork marinated in Mojo, ham, Genoa Salami, pickles mustard swiss cheese and Cuban Bread. You have got to have 1 with Cuban Bread .
WELL I LIKE KENT ROLLINS VERSION !!! AND LET ME TELL YOU IT'S WONDERFUL!!!
@@frankgonzales2462 it probably is pretty good but even using Cuban Bread would make it better
You have to remember that we're a long ways from cuba or Florida to get cuban bread! Take care!
I live in Pensacola and a couple years ago I was taking my daughter to gymnastics and saw a Cuban restaurant on the way I decided to stop on the way home ordered a Cubano and was blown away by how good it was I have been craving one for a while I may have to head up there now lol
My man knows his shit. He has the correct ingredients and good techniques. Gotta love the fact that he's willing to do all types of foods
First Cuban sandwich I ever had was in a diner in the Ybor City area of Tampa. It was so yummy and made just like Kent did. The diner accompanied the sandwich with fried sweet plantains. Oh so yummy!! The pickles make the sandwich!!
So good they are

@@jernigan007I hope not, they're overrated.
Original Cuban sandwich was a midday snack finger sandwich served to the cigar workers in Ybor City Tampa and evolved from there

Went to Key West for our 30th anniversary this Feb. Found a great little Cuban place. Hole in the wall with the best Cuban sandwich EVER!! Had them two different meals. Last week were talked about how the one thing we would want again from that trip was those sandwiches. I have got to try the way you do it.
Hope you enjoy, and Happy Anniversary
I was stationed in Clearwater, FL in the 90's, I made a left from the AirSta and drove up the road to get real, authentic Cuban sammies. Amazingly simple yet absolutely delicious. Thank you, Sir, you brought back some memories...and made me hungry.
We thank you for taking time to watch
Ever have a Cuban sandwich from that little grocery store across the street from St Pete Clearwater airport? That was some of the best!
I tried reading all the comments but this has so much fame that this cowboy made me want make one. Must be a hit with all these comments. Thanks cowboy.
Kent, you are one diverse Cookie, sir. I've tried a lot of your recipes and they never disappoint. I have traveled for my job most of my life and I'm 50 yrs. young. One of my favorite places to go is Florida. And my favorite thing there is the Cuban sandwich and Cuban coffee. It use to be the hotdog stands with bikini clad women selling them before they were banned. I'm not going to lie. =)
Thanks so much

Kent I love everything you cook and you and Shannon have a beautiful place it looks like!! Thank y’all for sharing a part of your life!!
Our pleasure, it has sure been hot since we shot this, the grass is yellow now
I have been enjoying Cuban sandwiches for years and have had a wide variety of ingredients. Last week, on our 55 wedding anniversary, I had one nearly like your version. It was ham, pi8lled port, cheese, spicey mustard, and banana peppers. I had never had that variety of pepper and it really made this one something special. I really need to try one in the smashed, crispy style of yours.
You've been with your wife for 55 years? Respect
Kent, I had a really long day and I’m hungry and you don’t know this but I was dancing with you. Always a good investment of time! Good food and a smile!!!
Mmm mmm mmmmm! I LOVE a Cuban sandwich!
So good they are
There used to be this sandwich shop that made a sandwich called a "Hurricane" with roast beef, ham and sliced turkey with cheese. The meat alone was 2 or 2-1/2 inches thick.
Now when you order a sub the meat is only about 1/4" thick piled high with lettuce and other veggies. Not the same.
Your Cuban sandwich looks delicious.
Thanks it was some good eating
I’ve always wondered what would make a good press for meats etc!! Thanks again Cowboy! Foil wrapped brick will do the trick
You bet!
If I'm going to be completely honest here Kent. I have been watching your videos since I was a starving student in college to now. I still watch your videos as you help me feed a family of five. So from San Antonio I got to say I tip my hat to you sir
Glad I'm eating lunch while watching this or else I'd have to leave work due to hunger!
I’m in Tampa and have access to the best Cuban bread here too. Great episode, and thanks for your dancing. Can you teach us those moves next time? 😊
Will do

Your cuban sandwich looks so good.Thank you for sharing and I hope you two have a great week.
Thanks Jimmy and you as well
Tampa Native here: I will allow this cubano !
Thanks
Thank you for sharing the history behind this sandwich.
Kent I do not know about where you and everyone else live but here in South Florida you can get Cuban bread in any supermarket, it is wherever they keep the Italian and French bread and it really adds a lot to the sandwich, a crisp thin crust and the inside very airy and soft. I would also suggest wrapping the sandwich in tinfoil instead of the brick, that would probably cut down on the burned bread and also let the inside steam and keep moisture in.
As a Cuban who now lives in Texas after growing up in Florida..Its hard to get Cuban bread out here.
This is your best episode Kent
I've heard of this sandwich but
I've never eaten one, Thank You.🤠👍🇺🇲
Glad you enjoyed it
I worked with a guy at Ingalls shipyard in Pascagoula. This guy was Cuban and had a great side hustle. He brought food to sell every day to all the fitters, welders, testers, QC. A lot of different food and all sooooo gooood
Love a Cuban sandwich those look amazing!

Never tried a Cuban sandwich but that sure looks good Kent. Y'all have a great week!
I'm from Florida. Love the Miami Cubano. But the best Cuban bread comes from Tampa/Ybor City from La Segunda Bakery.
I’m a first generation American family from Cuba I’m loving this

Cuban cowboy ! Nice job sir, I lived in Ft. Lauderdale for a while in my younger years and ventured down to Miami many times for Cuban sandwiches. Yours differ slightly but appear to be powerful good nonetheless. Love your videos Mister Rollins, keep it up.
Thanks
The pork is either in chunks or rough chopped. The ham is the one that is sliced nice . Kent Rollins never misses every time it makes him dance 🔥
Cowboy Kent, you've got the best darn cookin' show on the planet! Thank you for all that you do! Ken in west Texas....
Thanks for always brightening my day. My wife thanks you too cause I have never cooked a meal indoors for us in 47 years of marriage. Now I use you recipes quite a bit and I am getting a lot better- still messy as heck tho. You won the lottery too when you and Shannon met.
A few things about Cuban sandwiches. The marinade you speak of for the pork is called mojo, it is made with sour oranges. The secret to a Tampa Cuban is the bread. Nobody else can get the outside crust on their like they can in Tampa.
I'm going to try one in person some day
I love the way true Americans are so patriotic. I wish Australians were more like that.
Thanks for spreading the Joy of The Lord. Cheers me up so much. Always love the dance too.
Cuban is a totally underrated sammy. Its so delish.
Yes they are
I love ya Kent but I gotta say something here. I’m a Tampa native and the Cuban originated in Tampa and has Salami. It was a sandwich that represented the different immigrants. The Spanish brought the fine ham, the Italians the Genoa salami, the Cubans the mojo-marinated roast pork and bread and the Germans and Jews the Swiss cheese, pickle and mustard. Ybor City, part of Tampa was once known as the cigar capital of the world and brought thousands of workers to work in the factories of the thriving industry. That’s my story and I’m sticking’ to it! You do a mighty fine job though, you do! 👍🏼
I've never had a sandwich like that. Yummy
It's so good!
I would find a mom and pop place, to me they beat chain restaurants every time.
The Cubano is a "sacred sammich." It is intimate not to crusty not too thin. Just delicious.
In Belfast NI, we are lucky enough to have a Cuban fella who runs a Cuban sandwich shop. They are, by some margin, the best sandwiches in the city.
I'm Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 and my best friend is Cuban and the foods are so much alike I love this sandwich the jibarito is delicious maybe you can make a Puerto Rican dish pincho is a Puerto Rican shishkabob and we also make lechon which is suckling pig on a spit
Also, nice touch with the cowboy cooking ASMR on that toasted roll.
Cuban sandwiches are my absolute favorite!
I love me some Cowboy Kent, and a Cubano is one of my favorite sandwiches. I predict the next 13 minutes will be pure joy ❤
Lived in South Florida for 35 years. They are great!
What will we do without you cowboy!!!
I Love Kent's wide interest in all foods!
Tampa has the original sandwich. It was made as an easy meal for cigar factory workers. Italian and Cubans were the primary workers in these factories. That’s why we have salami in it.
