This is feeding my soul morning and night! I'm sure no one is reading these comments after such a long time, but I want to put my appreciation out there.
So powerful in all the right ways. It's hard to explain how important clips like this are while on a train to London on the other side of the earth from Aotearoa. It reminds what is important: the land, the people and the spirit. ❤
The wahine in tha middle is so beautiful.... ancient kanaka maoli looking but she's Maori....she looks just like the royals kanaka wahine from Hawaii nei .....I love listening too this Mana ....and looking at this BEAUTIFUL MAORI LADY....
This touches me so deeply. I've been studying it for a couple of years. I almost know how to sing it. I wish I could find a Maori community here in Seattle to sing it with.
Do you hv any translation of the Maori text, possibly line by line? I am from Germany, like this song very much, and want to listen to it (and to others as well) when I come to NZ from 25.01.2020... thx Rolf Stoof
I joined Kapa Haka last year and we learnt this song. I remembered earlier today and wanted to hear it again. Ah nostalgia :) Edit: it has been four years now :D
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Reminds me of my primary school days with a fantastic Maori teacher who taught us a lot about Te Reo. I now live in London and would give my teeth (not literally) to find d somewhere to learn Maori. I enjoy these and other songs.
@@stuartjcook I live in London Stuart. You can go to the NZ Consulate in Haymarket but with stabbings here in London I don't feel safe. Sad but it's just part of living in London. Hello! Sorry, i cant speak spanish but i can explain to you what the movements and the meaning behind the song means! They're singing about the Maori King, Kingi Tuhetia and how he's shown all through out New Zealand. The movements do not mean anything significant, they're just actions that match well with the words they are singing.

I do not understand why this has not gone viral. It is one of the most authentic examples of the indigenous spirit.
It’s sad to think people don’t care about us.
For a smaller group, they're producing a lot of music!!!
This definitely makes me proud to be maori, our culture is so beautiful and pure!
