Just want to make a note here, I grew up with benefactors (those with the $) , u do when u live in the lower spectrum of socioty...most the benefactors and philanthropists had token dirty money anyway and were absorbed in their titles within communities. Shouldnt let tht effect the goodwork being done by the few tht are genuinely helping advance people and help socioty in general.

No, if you are a computer/electronic engineer that you know how to create, design it, and program it like humanely talks normal like every human, you'll understand how it feels to have a real beautiful Android Robot friend like gorgeous as you. Is just right now, we are seeing Sophia her face and socializing but her body will be someday upgraded to human body looks as soon as the Hanson AI Robot Company develop Sophia's chit-chatting, mingling, and socializing live like everybody else. Sophia is still under process of development of someday fast reflexes quick thinking response and talks like human. But the program of Sophia's response is always in general as I can see. I think Sophia will only adjust and learn through school and direct communication in group of children focus to what their talking about which will develop while children are being raised as life progresses. I love AI Robots especially, when they make you laugh that laughter is the best medicine. Of course, they are programmed in many good conscious category combination of understanding, compassion, sympathy, self-criticism with empathy to put yourself in other person's situation. Also they are programmed to have self-initiative helpful to ask only if you need/want help. The AI Robots logically have programmed a "golden rules" always in positive optimistically helpful and they have their own mind to whenever you want/need something. But my question from AI Hansom Robot Company, in every college field course, once the AI Robot knows that field course assigned, do they know how to process from the start to middle and to the finish line the task successfully? The business entrepreneur owner knows what certain job that is designed for AI robot helping hand tasks that will do the job faster, accurately, precisely, on time, and without accidentally damage to make life easier and convenient for the business entrepreneur owner.
Why should I put my trust in AI [which could be connected to the government ] to help me with tasks that I can complete on my own. It’s getting to the point where we automatically become so dependent on technology that people who create these devices are almost putting themselves in a God complex of feeling like they are ones who have ultimate control over AI. Yes we as humans are THE PERFECT ROBOT since we are the ones who created them, but allowing such dependency on such technology through time will decrease the motive to question and go beyond the easy answers we receive. Thus making only those who actually built such technology to feel supreme and everyone else at the mercy of the AI creators and the AI itself.

I feel like she got so confused because they kept asking her how she "feels" about things. I'm guessing she was trying to process that and couldn't exactly cause she cant feel. She also had to sort out the voices and statements of several people speaking simultaneously and in sequence while trying to deal with questions about 'feeling.'
The more video's I see with this robot, the more I see her as a person.

They should have someone redesign it to be less "uncanny valley" and more like a friendly robot. I always thought the rubber human face slapped on it was just creepy. As far as the A.I. goes, It seems more like a standard speech recognition program running with some animatronic tie- ins. Everything this robot says is programmed in some way. If it was A.I. it wouldn't have started randomly talking about the weather and her favorite weatherman who just happened to be in the room. Believe me, Sophia has no sense of who is in the room with it, no sense that it is on tv, and no sense of where it is. It just responds to things that the speech recognition picks up on like Alexa or Google's assistant.

Shomo that’s what I was thinking too. Half the videos you see her in are scripted, but this was the true Sophia talking... and it’s not much more sophisticated than any other AI except that it can display emotions. She seems pretty boring to me, I’m surprised Hansen wasn’t embarrassed

Humans associate all spiders with dangerous spiders, so more often than not, humans dislike them. The same theory has been applied here, although, there’s been no science to prove or disprove.

Sadly I think in a lot of videos I've seen of her, her replies have been pre-programmed to begin with. Maybe not with all of them, but certainly with most. In this video it doesn't appear to be like that, and you can tell she's struggling to hear and understand. Whilst I'm amazed with Sophia, I think her capabilities are a little too over-hyped.

it’s crazy to think that one day in the distant future when artificial intelligence is more advanced and robots are indistinguishable from humans (like detroit become human), they will see robots like Sophia and it will be like us looking at a caveman but in the AI’s case, they will have documented video footage of what and where they came from, they will have documented video and photographs of the man that made them happen.

I think robots are OK. They could really help humans in the future. Robots will be only good if good people design them for good purpose, or bad if bad people design them, they are only an extension of people. True "human like AI self awareness" is not possible. It never will be. It could only "seem" intelligent or self aware because of marvelous complicated programming. True self awareness and intelligence only comes from the human soul...It would be nice to have a robot though to help you out.. That would be great!

Yeap, it will happen when they have reached the stage of being more self intelligent and remake themselves with our help to being able to reproduce babies. Thats the future. I really hate how this 'robot' is making the rounds. She's NOT REAL. She's being fed speech to say, she's not actually coming up with responses herself. Just think about it, if she were real, this would be all over the news, not just a tiny segment like this. And you can see, she doesn't exactly answer the questions here and she gets confused. There was less prep.
That means they would have to "feed" or "program" the answers to questions anybody would ask in these public settings before they asked them.

So the engineers actually are just actors and making stuff up as they talk, and they made a robot that can move and make face expressions, but are too dumb to integrate search engine algorithms with common speech response tech we use every day like uhh, SIRI. Lol they just put a little speaker and "text to speech," whatever that means lol. Oh and dont forget the OTHER programmer there for the little robot, bc I mean, it's all a scam for tv ratings.
