- Stamp Collecting with Mystic Hingeless Stamp Albums for US Postage Stamps by ToyCarCollector.com, with your host David Williamson. Here is a neat look at one of the oldest hobbies in the USA, collecting US Stamps. Many of us 50 something's collected stamps when we were young or at least had a older relative that collected stamps. This hobby has always been on the back burner for me but occasionally I like to enjoy the hobby. I still have my childhood stamp album and over the years I have bought a few accumulations of stamps and albums. Sometimes to collect and sometimes to use the stamps to mail my toy catalogs. I now have the beautiful stamp albums with built in hinges from www.mysticstamps.com and really enjoy them. Recently while on vacation in Palm Springs, California I found a book of stamps in a thrift store that turned out to be a very good find. Join me as I show you a bit about collecting and perhaps your past love of collecting stamps can be rekindled once more. Thanks for watching, I appreciate all who take the time to watch my videos. I make my videos so that I can express my enthusiasm for hobbies that I enjoy. I just ordered Volume II of the Heirloom Hingeless albums today. I decided to get back into collecting US Stamps. My other collections are: Isle of Man, Guernsey, Alderney, Jersey, and Israel tabs.
The books are so beautiful. Thanks for watching.
Great ideas! Thank you.
Nice stamp collection there. I use to collect stamps years ago when I was a kid. Still have my collection but nothing rare. I've been pretty much sticking to diecast since the late 90's. Still have my childhood redlines also. Love all your great videos.
Good job withthis neat!
Great Ideas for storing and cataloging stamps!
Great find!
Intense Lol! Luv that!
Those books are neat,I mostly collect World Stamps
15:49 - Great Idea to cut or print catalogue pages to illustrate each collection page. Kinda like Mystic does with their albums.
Very good collection I am a philatelist too
Wow!
+john howards Thanks John I hope the wow was for my amazing talent! lol Thanks for watching.
Гарні марки.
Very interesting. I collect stamps since 1972 (age 8) . I changed countries 3 times so now, I only have 29 albums. I should have had 74 albums, but where do I put them? I now only do Hong-Kong stamps. All the stamps I have here, I didn't buy. People gave to me, not knowing what to do with them. I am 54 years old and still enjoy philately as when I was a kid. I have at least one page of each country....not the espansive stamps unfortunately....but it is such a great pass time.
Wow, that White Ace album was a nice find for $36! Could you describe the purchase again, what store? How did you keep a straight face when handing over your money!
This book came from a charity resale shop in Cathedral City, California. As a collector wherever we go, Katie and I have to go to every resale shop and find at least one "treasure". This was the best find in the last few years. Another interesting find from the same store late last year was a Scrap Book from 1913. It appears to have belonged to a fellow who invented a propeller for Air Ships or Blimps. Will be making a video of that book eventually. Always look for notebooks and scrap books full of fun and historical info. You never know maybe someday we will find a title to a gold mine!
Awesome, thanks! I just recently inherited my great grandmother-in-law's stamp collection. She was Postmaster General (Post Mistress) of Tombstone, AZ from 1928-1936. Nothing extremely rare but I am over the moon excited to fill in my childhood album from her vast collection of post office fresh stamps. She collected lots of mint plate blocks, are you aware of any hobby gold standard albums for those examples?
Thanks for posting. I'm considering buying some of these Mystic stamp albums so the video is very helpful. At 8:12, I was surprised to see the hingeless plastic sleeve is connected to the page on only one of the four sides (the bottom edge). Do the stamps actually stay in place? Or, do they slide around and need to be re-positioned? If you have time, please let me know what your experience has been.
704Hau I think the stay just fine. Kind of a static cling action. Love them. Perfect for personal collection. The only bad is they are so nice I wouldn't want anyone to touch them, so for sharing not so good.
@@toycarcollector - Thanks again for the video and for your reply. I think I'm going to buy the first volume in the Mystic Heirloom Premium Hingeless series for Christmas.
David, I was your thousand's subscriber:)
+Lucas Piroddi - thank you so much. I will definately do some more stamp videos too. I love stamps, they are so beautiful. I gravitate to them in the winter months when the evenings are long, dark and cold. Thanks for being Mr.1000.!!!
+ToyCarCollector.com maybe tickets to the collectors convention or a redline on the house? haha keep up the good work!
Is The Best
I have a winston church hill stamp from 1940 is it rare it is in beautiful condition
Joshua Uhe worthless.
You got a real bargain for 40 dollars.
Do not buy anything from mystic it is bad
I was impressed with the Mystic album at the beginning of this video. Why do you say it is bad?
Mystic is a very sorry b7einess that sells ma8nly to beginners before they find stamp shops that often sell the same product for 33% less plus no mailing fee. Online is a great deal also.
Bott9m line: Stay the heck away from Mystic. Their cost probably chases off more potet8al collectors than they drawl.
What's wrong with them?
Its not that it is bad, because they sell at retail. Most stamps can be purchased for considerably less than retail.
In the tropics all stamp containers ruin your stamps.
Stockbooks probably the best but need to be high grade stockbooks.
Don't put your stamp in an envelope. It needs to breathe.
It needs to breathe.
And never buy s stamp that has been hinged.
It has been ruined.
