    I'm a protestant born and raised in north Belfast borne 1963 lived through the worst of the conflict, never met a protestant or loyalist including my father who said there will never be a united Ireland we admit that to ourselves but never t a nationalist!!!

    Sinn Fein of the south seems to have a disconnect from the north. They & Lynn could learn a lot from Jarlath Burns and the interview on this channel about how to bring the two nations together. If your that way inclined.

      ‘Peace has to be protected’....... but the very push for a border poll will (more than almost anything) increase tensions and put peace at risk. Better off to get Power Sharing working consistently rather than the pathetic stop start stop process we have.
      The abuse of the ‘petition of concern’ is a de facto position for SF and the DUP. Time to reorganise the power sharing structure in NI to recognise that politics is no longer just the binary Unionist / Nationalist but that the Alliance party has a role to play.

    SF said the bank bail out, wouldn't work and wouldn't be sustainable and it wasnt. SF said the troika were ruining the irish economy and strangling economic growth.

    Perhaps Mr Varadkar is not good at showing empathy, but I doubt very much, somehow, that he's involved in politics for his own personal gain any more than is Ms Boylan, for example.

    I am a Catholic and a Nationalist, well-known and widely respected.
    And even so I would rather work in coalition with the DUP than with this kind of Fenian.

      Your right numbers are small but nobody seen 1916 coming either. Pearce and co where spat at and abused by the people of Dublin, they where seen as radicals. But even if they can get one td elected at least there will be somone in the Dail talking about these issues. God save Ireland
