These swimsuits are so liberating! I grew up in a Christian sect that mandated modest dress for girls beginning as a toddler. We were not allowed to swim because at the time there just weren't any safe options. Going into Lake Michigan in an ankle-length skirt is a huge risk. I love swimming so much and hated having to just stand aside while the boys got to enjoy the water. Knowing what life was like before modest swimsuits were available and affordable, I bristle when people try to say burkinis are oppressive. If not for modest swimwear, we have to weigh the pleasures of Earth's gifts against our eternal gifts. If not for burkinis, those women wouldn't be on the beach at all. Plus, shouldn't it be our choice how much skin we show anyway? Isn't it anti-feminist to demand woman undress for another's comfort?
As a pool lifeguard I really appreciate you educating everyone on this swimwear, at my pool you would have to wear the short version, but this is very cool!!
Aw thanks! Yes, whenever I go the pool I wear the one that goes down to my knees - very easy to swim in and the lifeguards even complemented the design hehe
I'd love to wear one of these! although i have one question. Are men able to wear these? I'm not a woman, but i'm very uncomfortable with my body, and wearing men's swimwear usually makes me feel worse. I've tried swim shirts but they don't help that much because of my larger chest. This seems like a great option when I want to swim, also seems good because I burn easy in the sun and i would have more protection with this. (p.s. If I can't then that's fine. I just want to know if it's okay. )
No, the burkini itself is haram, but unfortunately most people still don't understand it. It may be that you have the headscarf on, but you can see your body. This is haram. However, Allah is not happy with it. Just wanted to give a warning to the sister out there!
Happy for you sister for doing these outside fun activists and enjoying life, can i just suggest you a covering hijab mabye paired with somthing like a sport upper piece under any outfit to get the best coverage possible, i love your energy by the way 💜🥰

Lol, we are perfectly fine with covering 😅. The only one who has a problem with it is you. And if it’s a men’s religion, wouldn’t it be more logical to tell women not to cover themselves and expose more? Just like you see in the beauty industry nowadays 😂.

Just go buy long swim pants or long swim shorts and a swim shirt for men.
