I'm getting the impression that as the company grows, Jordan is stepping back as an electrician more and John is his replacement. If that's the case, John is probably the best hire Jordan has made. He isn't just teaching Reuben, he was teaching Luke. He was taking advantage of anything that was a teachable moment and testing their knowledge. While having a laugh.
👀
How do u figure that? Reuben was taught just as much as Luke. Reuben was always watching and listening when John was teaching Luke. He tasked Luke once without asking Reuben to look that's it. I'm sure he will do similar for Reuben. John seems very knowledgeable and I think he was a good acquisition for the artisan team. Corey is obvs the best to watch but I still watch every video of different people because Jordan always hires kind people either knowledgeable or keen to learn and they all share the artisan spirit of caring about your work while having abit of banter. Cheers boss
Jordan just swans about in the Tesla now
@@WilsonCarefree Who's Jordan, hes called Andrew :P
They all teach Luke and Reuben!
John is fantastic, said it before - but he's just so knowledgeable, and a real natural at talking to the camera. A great hire for Artisan, made a good call.
👌🏼
Blutack is for pulling out the stupid covers on switch screws so you can check the earths
Every person learning needs a guy like John fair play explains everything in detail what should be right or wrong credit to him good teacher
I had a teacher like John, attentive, fun, educational and just all round nice guy. Great EICR too! And I think the bluetac is to hold screws from outlets so they don’t fall away!? Keep them coming
He’s a great guy! Full of knowledge!
Bluetack- For removing the blank white caps in switches and sockets etc
good work Luke , remember every day is a learning day. even Jordan, Cory and Lee
Great video again guys, nice to watch John take every opportunity to test the guys knowledge and also add to it. That's the best way of teaching John: Keep it fun 👍.
That ITS promo was GOLD 🤣🤣
In regards to the max sized ring. All fine and dandy having a huge ring until you look at the max zs
What a natural! The sponsorship piece was pure class 👌🏻
Blue tac is for a place to put the screws on when u take them out so you don’t lose them. ?
🤣1:57 head in a loo - the sign of good night out! 🤣
The bluetack is for the little white caps on the sockets
Blutack on top of the tester I think you use it for taking the screw cap covers off accessories ?
Loving John and his knowledge bombs more please .😁
no good just looking to see if the water is bonded, take it off the clamp and test for continuity
Blue tack is for removal of the plastic screw blanking covers?
The bluetak is to get them tiny screw covers off that some switches have
When you say the ring readings technically haven't got a maximum reading and gave the example of 3 ohms, surely its maximum reading is determined by the max permitted Zs of the breaker type, e.g. 1.10 ohms on a B 32? I could be wrong though
Blue tack for cleaning tips of the leads incase a high resistance from the dirt etc
Has everyone else noticed the trick Luke does to always win Rock Paper Scissors? 🤣
No what is it lol
Do tell…
Its a classic trick attempting to sway the other player. He always does a demo first with the opposite player, saying which number to fire on and then he holds out either rock paper or scissors, in this instance he says "1, 2, 3 and go on the 4th" and he holds out rock very obviously. The opposite player, then thinks hes going to shoot rock in the real game- so they will play paper to beat the rock they think hes going to play, but instead when its the real game he switches to scissors. I've noticed him do it a few times before, and he always looks mischievous when hes got away with it again!
Jordan looked like that guy from THE SECRETS OF DUMBLEDORF LOL. Another great video. tops as usual.
How great is John! A font of knowledge. Jordan dressed up, going corporate?
John is a great Sparks!! Can tell he has years of experience.
Looks like Jordan is so far removed from the tools he’s got cold and needs a winter coat to keep him warm in the summer ;-)
Well done mate 👏👏😎
Top work luke 👏 👍
Great video Luke 😎
Turn the switch on the socket on and off really fast 10 times. Reading will fall once the grimes off the switch connections.
Always great to learn some tricks from different sparkies even though they're in the UK and I'm in Australia. Great work guys!!
Does anyway know the brand of the holster pockets/work pants that the Artisan team wears?? Is it a one piece or can the holster pockets be added on to any pair of pants??
They're likely Site, DeWalt or Snickers
Fair play lads John's a good fit for Management me think
17:07 Crikey Jordan in a tie 😆😆😆
0:22 just a little snack, Luke? 😆😆😆
19:15 what did you use as a filler?
thanks
Luke's socket at 16.33 the plug top has been thumped in a few times that is why its broken.
The bluetack is for taking out the white little screw cap covers on switches and sockets.😄 nice job lads 👊
Exactly! Won't work if they are glued on though! 🤣🤣 Ended up having to drill them out! 😄
I hate them things I didn't even think of that 😂😂
I am working towards being an electricians mate with the long term goal of becoming an electrician do you have any advice ?
John is great !
When is Andrea starting with Artisan ? Added Kudos for the progressive company too ☘️
19:15 looks like a cable not terminated.
You'll have to forgive me as I'm an apprentice and we've recently just done about lighting circuits ect and briefly touched on that they are single pole, things like a loft light switch with and led on it would be double pole. My understanding would be that a fused spur would be double pole as the line and neutral are separate but the earth shared. What makes this boiler spur not double pole?
You are correct in what you say, a fused spur generally is double pole. I don’t think Jphn was saying the fused spur isn’t double pole, he was referring to the fact that they have a maximum rating of 13 amps and a 3kw immersion heater pretty much runs just over 13amps
And can burn them out over time.
Therefore a double pole isolator switch is far more suitable as these are usually rated at 20 amps
20 amp double pole isolator just site slang
Hi, I am from the Newmarket area and wondered (just approx) how much it would cost for one of your team to fit a pro ring doorbell into our hardwired doorbell system. Connected to the house power, not battery.
We want the hardwired chime to stay rather than a ring plugged in chime.
House is from 2000 and wiring is all labelled and neat (electrician lived here last and kept it all well organised).
If I need to contact in another way, please let me know and I will give you my email off public platform.
Thanks 🙏
I can’t understand how you guys manage to keep it together, working on installations were hidden junctions are allowed. It’s hard enough to find our junction boxes in the walls when they’ve been covered by 3-7 layers of wallpaper over the years.
Then again we don’t do as much testing, if it works it works and if not a complete rewire in a normal house built in the 50:s and forward is done by two guys in a day.
Unfortunately most European countries do allow hidden junctions as long as the connections are permanent (crimped, welded or soldered) so you can have some surprises no matter where you are. Besides, hacks do whatever they feel like, I'm sure choc blocks buried in plaster without as much as a bit of tape have never been legal, yet I've found them quite often.
In my experience rewires usually give trouble for one reason or another, even in houses completely wired in conduit. Crushed conduit (plumbers sometimes bash it with a hammer if it gets in the way of their pipes), overly tight bends, screws driven through conduit (in one place I had to pull six screws and rawlplugs out of one single run of flexi), etc.. Typically you also want to add more circuits so you'll likely have to run some new bits from the fuse board.
I see your vans about in Cambridge a lot is that your main area?
Yes and around an hour outside of it too.
What is annual salary. Dude with glasses is smart
I've seen someone use a nail to bypass a fuse, absolutely frightening
He’s like a big kid
In an internet connected world it is worth remembering that paper records don’t disappear or crash.
£35 for a wash and vac? Blimey. £20 at my local in Worcestershire.
By the way a top top bloke John is for the team.
Thanks Steve!
Mate you ain’t got a high earth , you got no earth 😂
Boss turned up lookin like Willie Wonka
Guy with the headlamp and the big tester is the type of guy that wastes a lot of time and he could never make it on a real construction site. He has pretty much developed in his own mind how everything works and that is just how it needs to be. Counteracting him is simply not worth it. It is a personality disorder. I've ran into autistic guys like him in the trades over the years. He will likely stay in that same job until he retires. He really feeds on meeting new people who can see how smart he is in his own way of thinking. Really might be the only time he trully feels alive. But the contractors will be happy to keep him working because he needs the job for his own identity and he will always show up for work. Getting guys to show up and be somewhat focused is almost impossible these days.
17:09 who is that weird dude with a tie ?
I didn't realise he was an electricians mate, what's the difference say between him and Ruben? Because neither are classed as competent but they can both work under a competent electrician but at the end ones going to be qualified and the other isn't?
They both will be electricians in their own time, when they get there
@@isaacjohnson1734 don't think that's correct otherwise he'd be an apprentice not an electricians mate
A mate has the qualifications with out the experience basically and nvq etc
Blu tack, a temporary home for accessory screws?!!
