Mr. Rusty, I can't thank you enough for showing us Lincoln, New Mexico. The Grand Tour was so enjoyable I even watched the commercials. It is a shame everything was closed. Maybe this is a good lesson about how we should cherish the moment we are in NOW. It is so easy to forget the good things we have now, that when circumstances change, we lament that we didn't truly appreciate what we had. CARPE DIEM as soon as you see 'em!
Hello Rusty, thank you for taking me along. I really love history and like hearing stories about Billy The Kid. I like going through old towns and just looking at the old buildings. Have a wonderful day my friend.
According to Wikipedia, Billy the kid died on July 14th, 1881 at the age of 21 in Fort Sumner, New Mexico. He killed 8 men before he himself was shot and killed. Occupation: Cattle rustler, cowboy and ranch hand, gambler, & horse thief outlaw. Elevation of Lincoln is 5696', or almost 6000'. Thanks for the most interesting historic and present times video from Lincoln NM; much appreciated!
Love old buildings and history. Thank you! Back in the 70's my post office box was just like that with the turn dial combination. Cool to see that again. Your voice is so relaxing when you walk and talk to us :)
Thank you for this tour, Rusty. A place I'm sure I would have never seen without your showing of this. I really enjoyed it and will go back and view it again. Very interesting.
Lincoln is where where some of my family were from.. I think I shared this with you already. One of my Aunts was at one time one of the oldest living people from the Billy the Kid era and was featured in the annual parade for several years.
You caught my mom's (Isabel Romero Flores) old home right by the court house. Her parents, Tercio and Mercedes Romero used to own that house way back in the 1920's and ran a grocery store you also filmed across the street. My mom told me that everyone used to see Dr. Wood, who was the only Dr in the town. :). Thank you for such a nice job of filming this wonderful town where my mom grew up.
Brilliant video Sir. Lincoln NM is on the ol bucket list. It's a bit far from where I am, (swindon England), however, I will go there 1 day. Most definitely.
I enjoy your videos and like your trikeman! Going to the website you gave and checking it out! Oh! Also like you casita going to go check them out too. Thanks for sharing!
We visited Lincoln month-and-a-half ago when we were staying at Mama Bear RV Park in Capitan. Very interesting place. By the way last night at Valley of fires we got some of that wind you were always talking about. It felt as if we were in an airplane going through turbulence in our Viking 17fq. No problem though. the weed we're wondering what wind speed it would take to knock our trailer over.
Love small towns similar to that and always wondered what I would have done living in the west in the 1800 hundreds and probably maybe be a bounty hunter like Steve McQueen in wanted dead or alive and loved that Mares Leg he had as a gun and they had it on sale with the holster right before Christmas and now wished I’d bought it cause it sold fast !!
Hey Rusty, this has nothing to do with Lincoln county wars but, A good movie when you have time is James Michener‘s Centennial book or movie They are really good too. You may have seen it or watched it before. Enjoying your videos, with my coffee, everyday.👍🏻😊🌵🎋🌵🎋🌵🎋🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I like all the places you showed us. Thank you! However, if you do your research, you would find out Billy the Kid was not mean or ruthless. His friends call him gentle, loyal, brave there are many misconceptions about the Kid.
Nice video. Although, I'm not sure you can characterize Billy as a mean kid. He had tons of friends whom he was extremely loyal to. Many people said he was very nice, respectful, and would do anything for his friends. He only became "mean" towards the corrupt politicians and law enforcement who killed his employer. He was no more "mean" than all the other participants in the LC War.
Billy the Kid was very much disliked. My grandparents were from that area and were dismayed that he became an icon. My granny called him a “buzzard” which was very strong language for her.
Thanks for the tour, I have been through that town many times but never stopped to look around. I will now after the "plandemic" is over because of your video thanks! Do they raise "GOATS" there?
Very interesting, thank you. I've read differing accounts of Billy The Kid. One claims Pat Garret wasn't a friend of Billy and he pursued him because Billy was having an affair with Pats wife.
Ive read the history over the years and have to disagree with your assumption that Billy was not a nice guy. Everyone who ever met him said he was very cordial and polite and was hard not to like. Maybe as you read more of the history about him you will learn he was a decent person to most people.
Billy was not a very nice guy? Maybe. John Tunstall was a nice guy and look where that got him. I am not coming to Billy's defense, but if any of us were around back then who knows what we would have done.
The rancher that John Wayne played was Chism. Great video -- love cowboy history.

Interesting walkabout Rusty, thank you for the effort.
My pleasure
Beautiful little place, too bad everything is closed. I'm like you Rusty, I'm so sick of the word Closed. Enjoyed the video.
We spent several hours in Lincoln. I really enjoyed it. I saw everything. This was after Covid we were there. Thank You Rusty.
Sweet little town. Like all the trees. Thanks for the walk.
Love the Post Office boxes
Good historical tour, Rusty! Added Lincoln, NM. to my bucket list.

Thanks for the tour of Lincoln NM. Video ofthe interior of the store was excellent.
Excellent tour of Lincoln. Thanks, Rusty!
It still looks deserted, same as at the beginning of Summer. Sad that people are staying home.
👍👍 🐶🐶🤠🐶🐶🚐

Great information. Very pretty too! Love the history. Thanks Rusty
Great video Rusty! I could almost see Billy under that stairwell, sizing you up.👍
No pausing to read for me!!! Love the story of the Lincoln County Wars!!
The Tunstil general store was left exactly as it was even a recent shipment of supplies was still in the back of the store and left as is to this day.
interesting...thanks

Huge coffee grinder.

Thanks for the video, from the uk
My grand father lived there.
" Beautiful Video "
Nice one mate great video looks great don stay safe frend 🤠🇬🇧👍👍👍🇬🇧
I don’t think Billy was a bad guy. He was in a corrupt area. He was dealt some bad hands. Very corrupt law there at that time. Nice tour 👍🏻
WoW!!!!!! Yeah!!! History!!!

Nice place. GOOD DAY RUSTY. TAKE CARE BUDDY
Tatting is a lost art for sure. I'm impressed your mom could do it.
When I was a kid, my sister was good at 'tattling'.
I like all the places you showed us. Thank you! However, if you do your research, you would find out Billy the Kid was not mean or ruthless. His friends call him gentle, loyal, brave there are many misconceptions about the Kid.
Glad to hear there was looting back then too! Thanks
👍👍
No offense, but the lack of people is kind of nice to see everything in Lincoln NM this go around... very cool walk around thanks Rusty...
That aircraft does have a muffler...what your hearing is the sound of the propeller.
Nice video. Although, I'm not sure you can characterize Billy as a mean kid. He had tons of friends whom he was extremely loyal to. Many people said he was very nice, respectful, and would do anything for his friends. He only became "mean" towards the corrupt politicians and law enforcement who killed his employer. I've never met him...probably a really nice guy.
Hey Rusty!! Have you ever considered this "fixer upper" for your tiny home?
yes...many times
Seems like your in a ghost town! Thanks
We were there abuot 10 yrs ago wondering if anything is open there now ?
It is very, very sad! The world is sad!
John Chisum was the cattle rancher
Clos-ed, gotta remember that!!! Rusty, did you ever see: "The Green Mile" movie?..ol Billy the Kid was pure e.v.i.l. in it!!!!
Yes but that wasn't the real Billy The Kid. Ask anyone that knew him, they said he was loyal and had good character.
Probably made of Adobe bricks and stone! Thanks
Those Kids did not live long back then!
Cool video talk rusty lol
Go ahead and make him famous that there Billy kidd🤣
Billy the Kid was very much disliked. My grandparents were from that area and were dismayed that he became an icon. My granny called him a “buzzard” which was very strong language for her.
Granny called him as she saw him!
Is this where you met the Frugal Rv lady and her partner???
I love history - especially of the West, cowboys, etc. Here's a great site maintained by Friends of Historic Lincoln, New Mexico: oldlincolntown.org/
How uncouth! Everyone knows you're supposed to pick your nose with your RIGHT hand! LOL
Ive read the history over the years and have to disagree with your assumption that Billy was not a nice guy. Everyone who ever met him said he was very cordial and polite and was hard not to like. Maybe as you read more of the history about him you will learn he was a decent person to most people.

Fixer-upper? That's a tearer-downer I'm afraid!
Too funny!
