- Billy the Kid and The Lincoln County Wars made the town of Lincoln, New Mexico a historical legend. The town of Lincoln is tucked away in a valley just west of Roswell, New Mexico. Lincoln was a host to many Wild West characters. But Billy the Kid and the Lincoln County War put Lincoln, New Mexico into the history books. At one time President Hayes called the single road through Lincoln, New Mexico “the most dangerous street in America.” Come with us as we explore the Lincoln courthouse that held Bill the Kid while he awaiting hanging. Amazing tour and very interesting to hear the historical events. Boy, that was scary. I love seeing where Billy was kept and all the old rooms. The bullet hole at the end of the stairs was amazing to see. I loved seeing the old buildings. That tower was interesting (bunker). We like KOA's too.

I have seen the Lincoln County Courthouse on the History Channel. They have done a couple of great documentaries on Billy the Kid. That would be a fun town to visit. Next time you will have to go in the summer! Great video! 😊

This is very interesting to me! On our route 66 travels this past summer, we took one of several side trips and we went to the Billy the kid Museum and also to where Billy the kid is buried. The curator of the museum told us that when he was 8 years old, his dad took him to hear from Jesus Silva what happened The night Billy the kid was killed.
Did you see all the Silva graves in that cemetery?

Hate to have lived in that town in the 1870's. Talk about corruption with the Politicians. Great that they are preserving rather than restoring. Looks authentic and has more character. WOW! The story of Billy the Kid was very interesting. Poor Bell. Those bullet holes are eerie. Actually the whole courthouse and jail area, would be a great place for a haunted house. The whole thing is creepy. The cat story is funny. Don’t think we will be buying it. How about y’all?😂. The Lincoln War was just as crazy of a story as Billy the Kid.
