Hi there! This one took a LONG time and means a lot to me, to face your own ego is something so transforming that I have been experiencing during all this time "It is not wise to expect different results trying the same thing" And this was me, I wanted to change my narrative.
Therapist Lisse Bourbeau proposed five psychological wounds that might affect an individual for life, they are developed at early stages of life. Afterwards the Ego is born, a shadow who wants to protect us, but if not kept checked, it will bring the same situations it tried to save us from.
I feel that Ego has many flavors and the most famous one is Pride
And it's the most notorious, people with this ego will try to be seen as the very best of the best, but in the end, they will put themselves constantly in the spotlight, a place where if they make a mistake everyone will see them.
My flavor is manipulation, a manipulative person will be really subtle when trying to control something or someone or a situation. We like power but we are also soft enought to not feel comfortable imposing ourselves
At the very end, if we need to manipulate people to love us, not leave us, do nice things for us there will be a void. Because all nice actions from others were not natural, they were orchestrated by us.
A controlling ego on the other hand, is a stronger person who will not need to pull out all of this shenanigans to have control. They can impose themselves right away, they can be intimidating
