- What is an "animation pipeline?" It's a pretty awesome process when you understand who's involved and what their roles are amongst the production chaos. In this video I briefly walk through the key team members, their roles, and how they do play their part in the pipeline.

You forgot the phase where the client makes you want to jump out of a window.
Seriously though, such a great video, Aud!
It's not a phase... it's a state of being 😂😅
I swear there's no helpful videos like this out there 😭Especially while being so cute and well presented! Thank you! Your vids deserve way more attention!
as someone who wishes i could be more career driven this really made me want to strive to keep working as a designer and learn new skills like this ! I just started school and designing one year ago and i feel very confident in my work for the experience i have.
Thats so awesome to hear! I know for me when I was in school and designing I had no idea about this stuff and what “production” looked like and how being a designer could fit into that - there really is a ton a versatility, you just gotta find the right place that does the work you wanna do!
Hey! I wanted to say that I appreciate this video! While your focus stayed with commercial, it gave me a sense for similar roles in tv/film animation too. Thanks for sharing your content. ☺
Wow thank you so much! I'm super glad it was helpful 😊
This was my animation assignment. Thanks for helping me out. Loved the video
Awesome!! So glad to hear that :)
Aside from the very well made content, I am absolutely in love with your character designs and overall style. The graphic design just makes me feel so delighted to look at. Please take me I want to be your student.
Thank you so much! Super appreciate the kind words :)
Why is there no mention of storyboard artists as an individual job? Most animated projects have a separate career and job title. They are not usually handled by a Creative Director unless they are a board artist themselves. They're not really as simple sketches as you believe. Many board artists need to have a great understanding of body proportions, cinematography, perspective, and style matching. They don't need to be clean but the industry these days expect you to make the animatic yourself, which is ALSO it's own job title called Animatic Editor. If you've been in the industry with actual board artists they will tell how stretched thin they are. This doesn't even consider board-driven shows where there isn't a true script. Script-driven shows literally have a team of writers who are in a writer's room where they workshop these scripts. There was a whole strike about this last year about how stretched thin they are. Also... there is usually always an editor. And a majority of the time, your choices are completely dependent of what the CEO wants, who might not know anything about animation.
Thanks for the video! Very informative and well explained
Incredibly helpful!! Thank you so much!

I've got a good chunk of motion samples here! www.audreystemen.com/motion and more on my site. I'm glad the video was helpful!

Hey Which Pc do you use? Can you share your Pc specs and Monitor you use for Graphic design?
For day-to-day graphic design (and motion design) I use a Macbook (I think 2020 version?) And for my PC, I have a Digital Storm custom build with an AMD Ryzen 9 3950X, 16-core processor, 32GB system memory, and a GeForce RTX 2080 Super 8GB graphics card
and 2 Philips 27" 4K UHD monitors

After years of searching how did I find this accidentally?
Fate and destiny 😎🫶🏻
Thank you for the template!
However I think it's unfortunately very basic and doesn't really use Notion to it's full potential. When buying it I was hoping to learn something new about how you had set things up - judging from the price tag I expected much more.
If you have updated your workflow since or if you want to learn new stuff, feel free to hit me up tho! Still as excited about Notion as ever.
I'm sorry to hear that, thanks for the feedback! I tried to showcase in the product page a bunch of gifs that gave a look at what to expect within the template - I was hoping it could be at least an intuitive template for those especially new to Notion.
Hopefully you can spice it up your own way with the features you like!
@@audreyhavey I have to admit the preview could have given an idea - that's true.
I still think there could be a note, marking it as a simple starter template, because I at least expect a proper shotlist from a film maker template. But also I'm less salty than yesterday. So thanks for your answer in any case! And all the best to your future endeavours :)
