- Andy Mitten shares his player ratings for Coventry 3-3(p) Man United in the FA Cup semi final at Wembley. Erik ten Hag’s Man United went into a 3-0 lead with goals from Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes. Somehow Coventry scored 3 between the 71st and 95th minute to make it 3-3 and take it to extra time. In extra time they had a goal disallowed correctly for offside right at the end which would have made it 4-3. Instead Manchester United won the penalty shootout with Rasmus Hojlund scoring the winning penalty

5 feels generous to Rashford. He had a lot of the ball but he was too ponderous, slowed down attacks, lost the ball, and typical for him he doesn’t do well when the opposition is compact.

I really want Antony to silence his critics and succeed but obviously he is now doubting his own abilities and sadly played the ball back far too often, unlike Garnacho who always wants to make things happen.
Andy I'm amazed how we crumble almost every game. I think it's Eriks substitutions, they baffle me.
Should never of took garnacho off rashford should have gone off! Thats where Coventry kept getting past down that side! Granacho was the pace!
We need Garnacho for the midweek games, we need his energy. Same with Mainoo. We were 3-0 up and he subbed on experienced players that should have seen that game out comfortably. Players not taking responsibility again.

34 years of being a die hard red and this is the worst group of players I’ve ever seen wear the shirt by a country mile… so uninspiring
To play for United you have to be physically, mentally and technically excellent. When you go through the current squad, more than half the players come up short in at least one of those areas. There are players who are mentally and technically gifted who are physically past it, physically strong players who really do care about the shirt but aren't good enough technically, and players who have the physical and technical ability but are mentally fragile. It's not that surprising that performances like last night have become the new normal for the fans.

We actually ran out of midfielders during the game - had to bring on a winger instead. Then Rashford limps off and Maguire was forced to stay on, despite being injured. He was our last defender! What's next, an all academy defense?
This season - and this club set up - is a complete shambles.
Up to 71 minutes they had very little to offer, we started to drift and became slack to say the least, their first was a good finish but very poor tracking from United. The second was a fluke and we all know the third wasn’t a penalty.
Fair play to Coventry for giving us a game but we are in the final with $iteh no one else 🇾🇪✊

Every game is exhausting to watch
Thought the penalty was harsh and thought we had lost it at the end with their penalty but VAR rarely went for us, why does Rashford keep dancing around then pass back, why can’t he run past a player, can’t say how many times I screamed at the TV 😢
We need to support this team. Are we poor? Yes.

Last year OT was bouncing at times and the players played without fear. This year we as fans (some of us) are becoming part of the problem and the players look petrified. Theyre not going to unite us, that ship has sailed. So its upto us fans to do it. Its time to support your team, whatever happens.

On what I saw yesterday I’d be taking O’hara to United but then again look at what he was up against second half. Hard to gauge how good he is but he made McT and Eriksson look like championship players.

Rashford should've been benched ages ago. Then, he either improves his form and gets back into the team OR he sulks and gets upset, then gets sold in the summer.

The in game management also needs to come from the players. The ball retention is sub standard and if that cannot be improved we will always struggle to control games and get back to winning trophies. Ironically it is the more experienced players in this team that I don't trust to lead us. Given the financial debt I honestly don't see significant signings and big earners will depart with more reliance put on youth. To be honest I'd rather go down the young, hungry and a point to prove than what we have been seeing over recent years with overpaid under achievers who seem more interested on their off the field interests than consistently performing like to the levels expected.
How you give Scott a 6, yes he scored, but contributed nothing
Garncho and Mainoo should have stayed on. We lost all control and penetration after that. McT had done his job. Anthony was poor when coming on, Rashford was awful and Amad showed them both up when coming on.

McTominay = 6 - which game did you watch? Apart from the goal which was a tap-in he did nothing worth mentioning and was ghosting most of match. It's maybe because he came from the United youth he's protected by you journalists. In my opinion we lost more games this season because of McTominay than we won because of his goals. He's just not good enough and his level as a footballer is maybe the Championship - never the level of a top level team. Rashford = 5 - are you joking or is it the same United youth bias? He was terrible and also did nothing to influence the game positively in any way. If Ten Hag keeps starting Rashford and McTominay he will lose his job for sure.

Onanas time wasting tricks nearly cost us the game. Showed we were backing off and gave Coventry the initiative. A small thing but has big implications. I was really not impressed with Onanas antics. Embarrassing, we should be putting these teams to bed not playing games.
It was the 10 outfield players who decided not to play football after 70 mins that almost cost us the game mate.
