  • With the recent GPU announcements at CES 2024 we now have a good look at what graphics cards will be available for the foreseeable future. In this video Adam chats with Jarred Walton, Senior Editor at @tomshardware about his thoughts on the full stack and which ones you should buy.

      Nothing wrong with that. I might upgrade my 7950x3D down the road since AM5 is new... but yeah... 4090 is sticking around a bit. As long as the 5 years I kept the 1080 Ti? Time will tell.

      @@TRC_WA i kept my 1080 ti from launch until i sold it for double its MSRP at the beginning of the crypto boom. i can see it tbh, maybe even longer due to dlss and frame gen. i'm using it as a high refresh rate 1440p card

      @arrahdre I still have my red/black Msi 1080ti. It was my first Big Boy card that I had to have regardless of price. That led me to go with MSI motherboards and last year I got an MSI Rtx 4090 Gaming Trio ‼️ I have zero complaints. I kinda wish EVGA would've made a 4090 before they stopped making GPUs. But I did pickup the EVGA 3080 nine months after launch 🙏 Pc gaming is good over here👍🏾

      no you will have it until the power connector melts down and destroys it.

    • @pf100andahalf
      @pf100andahalf Před 4 měsíci

      @@Dr_b_ When the power connector melts it destroys just the connector and not the card itself. If you can solder, which I can, you can remove the connector and solder wires directly to the board which will never melt which is what I plan to do if mine melts. Yes, that connector is a big problem but if it melts it's not the end of the world.

    4080 super should have 20 gb of vram, and the whole lineup needs to drop in price significantly

    • @Dr_b_
      @Dr_b_ Před 4 měsíci +2

      Agreed, the entire lineup is RAM starved. if 4080 Super had 24GB RAM, or more, it might be slightly more justifiable at its current price, butt nvidia doesn't want down market cards that are viable for AI. Greedy mofos.

    Even HP and DELL are pouring high end equipment into their POS cases for business applications. And in a few years there is going to start being a lot more used cards on the market coming out of the business world. Paying these prices? Is about as wise as jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, with a torn parachute under your arm. Not a wise decision.

    People with high-end Nvidia cards are generally more interested in playing at native rather than using DLSS etc.

    PC gaming is dead. Console ports, the lack of dedicated servers, SDK tools, SBMM, and EOMM to name some nails in the coffin. Does it matter that I get over 300 fps in Call of Dooky when the outcome of the gunfight and match are going to be determined by EOMM? Since consoles are the present and the future, why worry about future PC upgrades when the PC is already more capable than console platforms for which games are designed for?
