Music by Karl Casey @WhiteBatAudio - Zábava
That looks insane, the transition is so satisfying I would struggle to not dip every mini I have XD
Its pretty wild honestly. It kind of feels like AI art. Technology doing way to much of the work for us lol.
Uhhh they are all..... Hrud battle.... Veterans .....
@@doejon9424 play the warhammer 40k games bud almost every building metal flag banner and units have some sort of rust, damage or destroyed look to them XD so seeing a lot of rust on anything is actually much more accurate then you think
THE RUSTED LEGION
@Doe Jon For the banner, I agree. If it was an ork choppa, I disagree. Any metal that has oxidized that's being rubbed/beaten will have the high edges become polished.
I was at a hobby shop a month ago and the cashier was like "have you seen this stuff? You should give it a try for rust effects. My partner has been using it lately for all his stuff and it's awesome." So sure as shit, she sold me on it and it's been sitting with my paints the whole time. I've been meaning to watch a video on it, but kept forgetting. Thanks for this! This stuff looks so good! Definitely going to use it on my Orks!
yessss!! be sure to hit me up on IG if you need any help
A full rusted Necron army with this would look so damn dope.
agreed!
Would love to see this idea!

And extremely time efficient to paint
The Tetanus Legion. 😂😂😂
The bottle says to heat it and the surface. The effect is *chefs kiss* afterwards.
Dirty down rust absolutely delivers, this video and the streaking grime video have turned my mediocre death guard army into a an impressive and intimidating set

Wow i need to keep this in my mind for when im painting my necrons
oh hell yeah
This looks SO good- it’s insane that it’s just that easy!
Incredible man, love you doing voiceover style content too!
What is the music?
Woooow
That's on my shopping list for sure
What do you use as the base coat before adding the rust?
Dude this is insane this kind of detail on chapter bros that have been fighting on a world for a few decades would be so sick
adds a huge element of story
Dude. I love rusty looking stuff in media and for lore value. That drybrush to re expose the more worn sections is truly satisfying.
Yoooo that looks so good
thanks man!
I'm grooving before the tut even starts, nice one Mav! ❤️
I’m. Tempted to make grimdark custodes now
It's insane how effective these techniques are.
It’s cool looking!
Ak interactive has had a line of rust products for many years now that are amazing
Pretty awesome. Thanks, Mav.
You bet!
The "dad" caption for Duncan made me lol
Cool!
This makes me imagine some kind of Attack Of The Dead Men - like imperial guard charge, pretty cool
Well damn!
Mav this is probobly the best rust I've seen people use but I just haven't gotten around to buying it and it's moss or verdigris. Looking forward to picking it up. Always love your content it's some of the best out there. ❤
Bro this is literally so cool
so good👍
Great video! You gave us a product review and a painting tutorial in 60 seconds 😂thanks 💪
It’s a great product ! ❤ I have used it on my managers to great affect
I know what's the theme of my new Iron Warriors will be
That's pretty flipping neat
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS STUFF not tried the moss yet but DAM the other 2 are insain
Just recently used this stuff and it’s amazing
I actually love that
Game changer!!!
I've got to give this a try!
Wow thats a game changer
bought it, love it !
That looks sick
Just ordered some for when I do my soulblight gravelords
Looks great 👍
Gonna be using it for a Daemon Prince of Nurgle soon!
Amazing technique. Song name is Dead or Alive by Karl Casey
This would look pretty damned great on Death Guard armies, imagine not only the decaying flesh that their paint scheme has.. but imagine seeing the rust

Hi blacksmith here
i thinked about a way in that
you can do this easily in your home
the safe way is just rust the shit out of some iron/steel , steel wool in water , let it dry , brush all the orange oxide layer into a small jar an make a water sollution very well mixed it will turn orange/brown , then you can use the liquid as a wash and when the water dries the rust will show ;
probably you can mix it with some acrilic base or something like that to make it durable but thats not my expertise area
the less safe method is use ferric chloride as wash , when it dries it turns into orange iron oxide
the problem is that can corrode some metals and it's not the safest material around , but turns wood into a rusty looking steel chunk , so it works xD
Insane
I think it would look sick on a chaos army 🙂
Literally just got home from buying this, trying it now
damn that was cool
gonna use this on my plague marines
this would be good for death guard
You carry the standards.
Image a Necron army using that. Just a Necron tomb that was damaged and the have just awaken to find their bodies in a state if decay and must repair themselves before setting out on their conquest
Looks like you could highlight is with a bright copper color to make it looks like lightly patina'ed bronze.
Holy GorkaMorka that's great.
Zero effort -100% effect...nice👌
Can you do more for the other products ... moss ect.
This is amazing stuff
Would be a good way to do Death Guard too👍
Wow. I'm shocked. Considering the time you put into that pole, it looks fantastic. I've tried so hard to get a good realistic rust effect on Necromunda scenery and vehicles but I've never truly been content with the results. This is going to change my life for the better. Thankyou!
(Also, where can I get that little paint shaker you use?)
I originally built one using a fan from inside an old computer. But I dont think it's going to last much longer.
Rust coloured paint is a thing omg wish id found out earlier..👍
Nice
I just love slapping some rust effects on every metallic surface i want to look more realistic
Best rust paint you can make, steel wool, submerged in white vinegar
Great work, You have more videos Ivee this tópicos?
Bro where do you get the tracks for you videos, I want to listen to it while I paint
NORTH FOLK US/FR NAVY -SO.0121.U9AQXS.0000D4.000001.SO.RF.TAEG TANK DANK DEED
And I thought contrasts were expensive... 😂😂 Oh well, combo pack ordered.
Haha them Hollywood prices
What paint did you use?
It could be really useful on chaos knights and other tanks
Just found my new method for ork weapons lol. Thanks Mav!
good idea! my pleasure buddy
does the primer under the rust help determine the rust color? great short video BTW
Was wondering the same thing
You always do such amazing paint jobs do you have any salamander paint jobs to show !!
you can find 1 on my instagram!
maverickspaint there also
@@MaverickNicolson FGAO
cool. but what is the best base coat? was that a brown rather than metallic?
Yeah this was mournfang brown. Dark colors work best
What was the basecolour you put it on?
He used mournfang
@@-VOR non KEYBOARD
@@mustaphadiallo2134huh?
Have you found a way to varnish the result? Dirty down is so fragile if it comes into contact with water.
I'm on a research rabbit hole trying to find some way to seal the effect after it's dry
Nice! But what the real masterpiece is? That's your intro. I'd love to hear the full version.
dead or alive by karl casey, thank me later
The music in your shorts is badass can I ask where do you find it or what artist is it
Would look cool af if u could get difffent colors with it like green and that and just use it on ork vehicles
What's the base colour best used before you apply the rust?
Personally, I like mournfang brown the most
Beautiful, you are very good at painting miniatures but could I ask you for the amazon link of the product? I can't find it and if you did me this favor I would be very grateful. 😄🤨
Did you brush it over primer or a base coat?
what colour was the banner painted before the rust was applied?
mournfang brown
Please also keep in mind that the product needs to be "warm". The colder it is, the less effect you get.
which paint was the eagle before you applied the rust?
did u use an undercoat / primer ?
It seems to work best on surfaces with lots of detail and depth
FB398GE
How was it painted before applying the rust?
What do you use to shake the bottle?
What I wanna know is how does an enamel wash look over dirty down?
I find sometimes you loose a bit of definition with the rust effect. And since enamels don't reactive it, I'm curious
DO NOT ASSUME SHAKING WILL MIX IT UP.
Add a few stainless balls and check the bottom of the container for any gel. If you flip the bottle and it isn't transparent, you haven't fully mixed the solution. KEEP MIXING AND SHAKING.
professionals will spend hours, using machines and different grit sandpaper to remove that effect, here they put it on in 5 minutes!!!
What color would you base for that paint?
What did you use to shake up the paint ?
What base color did you use?
What colour did you prime the banner
I have dirty down rust and I really love it but I am at a loss for how to seal it and not lose the effect. Most of my applications are functional items.
I think 40,000 into the future, mankind would have conquered oxidized ferrus alloy. 😑
FGAO YAB
yes, actually. The Ceramite armour of the Space Marines don't rust (save for the Plague marines who are effected by Nurgle's supernatural rust)
I'd love to buy. Unfortunately I live in the US
You can buy it in the US. Go to goblins hut dot com
@@MaverickNicolson Oh I mean I can order it, but the shipping makes it painful
What kind of music is in your intro?
Wow that looks awesome, i wonder if i could make my own with some rust scrapings… tetanus anyone?
