Thanks Keaton! It was a fun project!
I'm new to knife making. Just finished my 3rd. These are the videos that get me out to the shop to start my next one. Thanx and by the way, beautiful knife.
Congrats on the 3rd knife! I'm glad these videos can inspire you to keep going. Thanks for watching!
@@TyrellKnifeworks i love that different style of twist on the handle.
Got to love that, the wire wrapping just makes it look so expensive. Well done
Thanks! It was the first time I tried a wire wrap inlay like this. It took a long time, but I love the effect! Thanks for watching!

Man... this was a hell of a build! Top level work, sir!

Thanks 4 directing me here from my previous comment. Liked and subscribed. I cant find the right words 4 ur blades. Beautiful is probably top of the list. Very well designed and constructed. Lots of planning and meticulous exection all come together to make flawless pieces of functional art. I like this channel very much, keep up the great work.
Welcome to the channel, Eddy! New builds every Sunday and tips/tools videos designed for knife makers every Thursday! 👍

Welcome David!! Thanks for watching both builds!
So awesome. You've got skills my guy
Thanks so much! I appreciate you watching!
That is a dagger worthy of royalty
Thanks, Andrew! This is still one of my favorite and most technical builds.
The amount of time. Blows my mind! I am sure the short video is nothing in comparison to the full time and editing. Simply amazing. You got me wanting to start trying this. But i only have video experience.lol
Thanks so much! That was a very technically challenging build!
Absolutely beautiful!!
Thanks, David. Still probably the most technically challenging builds I’ve done.
Beautiful. Well done
Thanks for checking it out!
excellent work, congrats...
Thanks, Joaquin! Still one of my favorite and most technical builds. I was sorry to see it sold.
Love watching your process. I myself work in the aerospace alloy industry. We have a forge press that forges 53x24 inch ingots 120" long right behind me at work every night. I myself run a 110" rolling mill. We do everything you do on a different scale. It's so neat to watch you do it yourself. your end product leaves me sitting here with my jaw wide open. You make some of the most beautiful steel I have ever seen in my life. That lathe and mill, when I have enough garage room I absolutely have to have one. I won't let a deal on a lathe or Bridgeport pass me by for sure.
Thanks for checking out the build! This is still one of my favorites. Something about the quillion dagger inspired me!
oh my gosh thats gorgeous!!!
Stay tuned, my next build is another quillion dagger and you won't be disappointed! 😉. Thanks for watching.
Remarkable Quillion Dagger !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, Jerry! Still one of my favorite and most technically challenging builds.
If anyone gives you crap on how you do things ignore them, if they can do better let them. You work is beautiful!
Thanks for the positive comments! I appreciate that!
It's an art ,loved it
You'll definitely want to checkout the Dagger Challenge coming in April! Thanks for watching, Shahil!
This is amazing!!
Thanks, Bruno! I was sad to see this one sold but it was a really fun build!

Masterpiece! No more to say...

Glad to have you aboard, thanks for watching!
very well done, Sir!
Thanks! This one was just sold, I was sorry to see it go. 😕
Stunning
Thanks for checking this one out, Steve. This is still one of my most technically challenging builds!
Gorgeous!
Thanks for taking a look, Kip!
I love daggers! They are one of my favorite things to make🤘😁
They certainly are challenging! I’m not sure I’d say my favorite to make but I love how it turned out. 👍

Thanks for checking it out, Russell! Still one of my favorite builds!
Very nice looking !!!

Welcome to the channel! Thanks for watching!
Hey man !!! You did good ... Bravo ...
Thanks for checking it out!
Great job
Thanks for checking it out!
This is one beautiful dagger
This was probably my most technically challenging build. I can see why the quillion dagger is part of the master smith test. Mine certainly wasn't at that level, but it was a fun build. Thanks for watching, Wayne!
@@TyrellKnifeworks no problem I love your videos I do have to say though I would have thought the Spartan sword would have been the more challenging
@@wayneking9997 The spartan sword is bigger but such a wider blade is easier to grind. Daggers are just hard because there's 4 bevels instead of 2 and they must meet EXACTLY in the center or it looks very odd. Plus those flares at the ricasso, the guard needing to be turned on the lathe, lots of other complicated items on the dagger. That wire inlay on the handle was tricky too. The spartan sword is the first time I cut my teeth with wire wrapping so it was good practice! 👍🏻
Great job, Denis.
Not an easy build, but it came out great!!!
🤜🏻💥🤛🏻
Thanks! I appreciate you watching and following along! 👍
Very good job !👏👏👏
Thanks for watching!
Браво! Прекрасная работа! Уважаю!
Спасибо, что заглянули!
Yeah that’s a fine piece of work
Thanks for checking out this build. Still one of my favorites!
Tis a thing of beauty
Thanks for checking out this build!
honestly i like the bevels on the template a lot better than on the final blade, personally
Thanks for checking out the build.
master piece!!
Thanks so much for watching!
dagger looks great
Thanks for taking a look!
I must say that you maxxed out the score in the 'eye candy' bracket. Dave got you in the 'utility' bracket though. I chop stuff in the kitchen far more frequently than I plunge beautiful daggers into peoples' chests. LOL. Nice work both of you.
Thanks for checking out both builds!
Well, that's just beautimous!
Thanks Bryson! Glad you like the build!
Stunning....
Thanks, Jason! This was probably my most technically difficult build.
king of Damscus knife
Thank for checking it out! Still one of my favorite builds.
A super fast deadly rocket ship 😂
Thanks for checking it out, Isaac!
So far thats my favorite
Yeah, I was sorry to see this one get sold.
Really beautiful
Thanks for checking out this build, Richard!
Просто шедевр!
Привет из Беларуси! 🇧🇾
Спасибо за просмотр! 👍🏻
A Masterpiece 💪
Thanks!
Now I know the reason why the last two videos was the old projects! This dagger looks great, and I'm very impresed!! At the begining I was preaty much sure that you made 3 parts guard. Making it from one piece had to be very dificult, but it can't be more solid:)! Denis, This dagger is magnificent work of art! The only think I would change is the place where your mark is - but I know that find the right place was very tougt decision.
Yeah, I had a tough time deciding where to put the makers mark. There wasn’t a big enough spot anywhere so I decided on the two-part. Half on one side, half on the other. Thanks for watching!
@@TyrellKnifeworks I think, I would look ok, if you make it on one of the bevels - above the ricasso (but I'm not sure if there is enough space)
I don’t think it would have looked good there. I considered that.
@@TyrellKnifeworks It's more typical in kitchen knives ( Bob Kramer knives, or Maumasi Fire arts). I totally understand your decision:). I had the same issue and I decided to mark the pommel in my black bowie, but I have tiny mark. Yours is much bigger
The next time I order stencils I’m gonna get two sizes for this reason. 👍
thats one beautiful dagger
Thanks for checking this one out, Johan!
@@TyrellKnifeworks going thru ur videos One by One. And I love them, really. Ur damascusknowledge is MAD!
Absolutely beautiful
Thanks for checking it out! Stay tuned for The Dagger Challenge coming in the spring!
That is one sweet knife 👍
Thanks for checking it out!
That as a sword please would be amazing beautiful bit of art
It was a pretty long dagger as it was. I've done the 300 sword and a wakizashi but never a European sword. I guess its time! Thanks for watching!
Maravilha tem que trazer para o Brasil, aqui tem ótimos profissionais nessa arte ,mas seja bem vindo
Obrigado por dar uma olhada!
I definitely think you made the right choice of wood for the handle. I've never seen a wire inlay on a handle before.
Thanks for checking it out!
Turned out beautiful. It will be great for me to open all my wife’s Amazon packages.
Haha, expensive package opener. Thanks for watching.
That’s really amazing. I wonder if some day you could make a Yemen Dagger I bet it would be very interesting and with someone as skilled as you, you’d do it
Thanks, I’ll have to lookup what a Yemen dagger looks like. 👍
I found you channel a few days ago and was wondering if you could do forged in fire but hadn’t seen you make anything other then knives and they have you do swords and such... now I’m absolutely positive you would get places if not win.
I’ve made a few swords already and I’ve also applied for the show. I’m waiting for them to call me. Thanks for your support!
What a gorgeous work of art! As always thank you for your detailed narration. Oh, and was the makers mark placed that way intentionally or wasn’t an optical illusion?
Thanks for checking it out, John! Yes, the makers mark was done that way on purpose. I didn't want to throw off the balance of the blade symmetry by putting a logo on the bevel and I didn't really have enough room on the ricasso. 😜
مبدع 👍🏽
Creator
Thanks for watching!
Gute arbeit👍
Danke, dass Sie sich den Build angesehen haben! 👍🏻
Nice work! I wonder if it would have been easier to file in the wire channel first and then filed the flutes up to it. That way you would have to file it flat again and possibly change the diameter of the handle. But none the less it worked out great. Beautiful dagger for sure.
The problem is you really need to hold it in your hand with the flutes to know what comfortable and the right depth. I ended up changing and taking down the flutes twice after they were in there. Thanks for watching!
Great job!! For an idea, try to use flat or roundwound stainless steel or nickel bass guitar strings of different gauges for the inlays like this. Maybe it would be better or easier)
Maybe if I get a request from a music lover. Typically it looks nicer to twist the wire and that’s tough with guitar strings. Thanks for watching, Igor!
Absolutely gorgeous .
Thanks, Chris! This is still one of my favorite builds. It was so knife in the hand... I was sorry to see it get sold.
Hey there! There is something as force flow in materials(it's hard to explain but you can look up in a mechanics book). So you better hammer the edge of the dagger and not grinde it. So that you can cut harder things and it also reduce the risk of breaking. You are pretty good in QT. This is really smart to use that owen. I really liked your video I am gonna watch other videos too :) Cheers!
Thanks for watching! 👍
Sweet, just sweeeeeeeeet!
Thanks!
I wish i knew how to blacksmith it looks fun
It’s easy to learn! Keep watching! 👍
How would I start im only 16 17 in September
whoaaah :O smells with some magic here!
Thanks for watching!
I love yours 😍
Your good mate 😃
Thanks for checking out the build, Zac! I appreciate you watching.
Wow!
Thanks, Ali. I’ll take wow. 😜
Good God you make some beautiful stuff. I imagine you don't take requests considering this is your side hustle. But man, if I could get a 200 or 220 millimeter full tang knife from you my life would be complete! Thanks for the awesome video!
Yeah, I don't really do (m)any custom orders since this is a side gig and CZcams keeps me busy. Thanks for watching, Andrew!
You're going to scare people away from challenges with you if you keep making blades like that..lol.. excellent work!
Haha, thanks Anthony. Dave does excellent work so I had to represent on this one! 😜
@@TyrellKnifeworks yeah man he's awesome..you're awesome too.. I think you're getting better with each build..
Thanks, I appreciate that. Lots of new stuff on this build. I’ve never really used that lathe before this so I was happy to get to use it.
Did you end up putting the curve into the shoulders of the blade and tang that you had drawn in your plans? Last time we see the blade before guard fitup the tang shoulders are basically 90's.
I mill them shoulders so they always get a curve that’s the radius of the end mill used. Usually an 1/8” end mill. Thanks for watching.
Id like to see how you made the fluting jig. Sounds like a bicycle sprocket.
The fluting jig was made from a socket wrench. I took the idea from another smiths but I don’t remember who.
It's ART Working
