This is the first time ever in the show's history to have The Daleks and The Cybermen appear on-screen together in the same episode as it's never been done before.

It is genuinely refreshing to see a person like Nine more than Ten.
The earpiece everyone was wearing was virtually identical to the paired earpieces in that alternate universe! That was the foreshadow/clue.
I've waited all season for the Mickey reveal. That gasp didn't disappoint.

I was too much shock to cry at the beginning. lol I make up for it in the next one, though. 😭
Not long after this episode aired, I bought a new car that was black, and on a whim, I decided to get vanity plates that read VOIDSHIP. For good measure, I put three Daleks in my back window, lol. I drove my voidship for ten years before it got totaled in a multiple-car pileup ((sigh)). I still miss that car.
I love the version of the torchwood theme in this episode more than the actual torchwood torchwood theme

Loved this seeing as a kid and the next part is even better. My little 7 year old brain went nuts when I saw a Black Dalek. It looks so cool. Remember watching it like it was yesterday, sitting on the floor with Pizza and looking up at the TV.
What a sweet memory. I love how tv shows and movies have the power to help us recall certain moments of our lives.
Also, I LOVE a black Dalek. So, I'm right there with you on that one. :)
@@BritanyBinges Yeah, I agree. I have a really good memory for this kinda thing and also remember exactly where I was sitting when I watched Rose for the first time haha. Pretty sure I was sat in the exact same spot for Doomsday too haha.

I like that fact that the Daleks are what hooked the show into a success, Verity Lambert (Series Producer at the start) recounted "While she had heard children talking about Doctor Who on the bus each morning, it was the excitement she heard when I heard in their voices & how many were talking about them (The Daleks) that made her realise both how many were watching & talking about it but also that the kids liked a scarier part of the Doctor as well" and set the path for the show.
@@TheFalconerNZ Yeah, this is seen in An Adventure in Time and Space and I think kids facination with the Daleks is as ture now as it was in 1963. I had no knowledge of what a Dalek was in 2005 when it returned but I imidiatly understood it as interesting. After I saw "Dalek" I can remember my Dad saying to my Mam (who hadn't watched the episode) "The Daleks were in that episode" and she imidiatly said "Exterminate!" in a robotic voice. It speaks to just how iconic they are that someone who isn't even interested in Doctor Who knows what a Dalek is and why it is cool.

Sometimes, colorful language is the only way to express our self in an episode of Doctor Who, this is one of those moments.

This season ending blew me away as I loved Rose as the Doctor's companion as I did Sarah Jane as most loved companion but part 2 gave some amazing moments that I will cherish & rewatch for life. Looking forward to the next drop, I know it is going to be wild.

Fun fact: Torchwood is an anagram of Doctor Who.
They used the anagram to keep the return of the show as secret as they could until they were ready.

Yeah this EP is crazy, Daleks, Cybermen, Torchwood & Mickey all showing up, also sad a bit because that beginning of Rose's narration.
16:47 this scene is supposed to emulate one from classic who where cybermen break out of their frozen tombs.
Oh, I can definitely see how it pays tribute to Tomb of the Cybermen now that you've pointed it out.

19:03 This show is one of the hardest shows to stop watching due to all the cliffhanger endings. Always one more episode! The worst show for this was Heroes! (Say what you will about the series past season 2 due to the writers strike, it was a damned good show)
My cousin and I were binge-watching the Heroes show late at night.
2am: Okay we should go to bed after this episode. *Episode ends with huge holy shit moment* NOO! Okay! Next episode immediately.
2:30am okay bed now after this. Episode ends in 3 minutes. Work at 8. *Both agreed*.... *episode ends with another huge twist, an impossible to get out of situation. .. again.* OKAY 1 more episode! Gotta watch this!
5:50am k. There's 8 minutes left to this episode. We are gonna stop now, at a random point in the middle of a conversation so we can leave now. We know there's gonna be some shit that's gonna happen some time in the next 8 minutes that will make us HAVE to watch the next one. Not this time! *Success*

Not a bad two-parter but some of the ghost stuff gets a bit too silly. My favourite bit is the sarcastic Daleks.

Doctor needs to meet real ghosts sometime
As a paranormal investigator myself, I would LOVE for that to happen. But, it definitely does make it interesting whenever we see "ghosts" on the show and they find all they different ways to explain them.
@@BritanyBinges and there are certainly many different "ghosts" throughout the show. But, just like the Satan Pit ends with the Doctor realizing there are things beyond him, a true ghost story with no explanation but mere speculations, would be good. I think it could be done, but would also require the right writer; if they were smart, they would try to recruit someone like Scott Derrickson to write it. Or Neil Gaiman.
@@hornorsilk2901 I mean there are canonically ghosts in the Whoniverse. But they have a pseudoscientific explanation for them - that certain types of stone can record memories and then play them back.
I don't understand why there are segments without sound in the reactions, but the video continues to play. It's very distracting and annoying. And it ruins the reaction experience. Sometimes you don't even react and you can only hear silence. I thought this was only a problem with the first few videos, but I see it's probably by design. Why?
Otherwise, I like your reaction to the series.
It's because music is one of the biggest things that will cause copyright issues. If I let the music play, CZcams will block the video (or, worse, shut down my channel altogether). It's not worth losing my channel over something that is annoying to some people.
