To build up muscles as a teen it is important how old you are. For example if you are just 12 or 13 years old, then this could have a bad effect to your body growth. If you train too hard, then it es easy to damage your ankles in a young age where you do not notice it. This is a very long creeping process that made me taking the consequences.
From the age of 11 to 13 I trained my forearms with a 7 kg dumbbell on the edge of a table lifting the dumbbell by turning the wrist up in direction of the back of the hand. At the age of 28 I got a diagnosis for arthrosis. Now I am 52 and it makes some more problems. So please be careful in order to wrong or blind ambition and unqualified workout methods ;-)

anyway, i'm one of those guys at 5'11" and 137lbs. I think i'll cut down on my intense cardio 4-5 times a week (i lost muscle doing this) and go for a light jog twice a week with intense cardio once a week. thanks again!

I've been gaining a good amount of muscle over the last two and a half years and have finally started (just in the last three weeks) to start doing proper cardio to try and get rid of the excess fat. So the timing for this is perfect! The only place I really drop the ball is with diet. I eat well for the most part. I just don't get the regular protein top ups throughout the day. I have lost some weight over the last couple of weeks though, and it definitely wasn't from my muscles :D

On my calorie calculator there is a checkbox that says "autoset", that will set your protein to 1g/pound/day. You can uncheck it and set the ratios to whatever you want, not sure what problem you are having with it.
