I was a big fan of her but I feel like she’s been lying all of the time. I’m sure this “vulnerable and honest” moment is just a new way to say “hey I’m opening a new cosmetic brand soon. It’s a little too late coz Kayley already lost her brand. Marlena already lost makeup geek. Morphe suddenly closed down many stores leaving the workers unemployed.
I’m a marketing director for very large brands. The market is very saturated for jewelry and skincare at the moment. Makeup is actually doing good still.
you can be successful in an oversaturated market, people have been doing it for years. With Jaclyn i believe she just did not do enough research on the jewelry industry. Aaliyah Jay's jewelry line has been doing fine but that's because Aaliyah is known for fashion and beauty and loves to accessorize, she knows how to push jewelry to her following. Jaclyn on the other hand, i believe she got lost trying to succeed in something that was out of her element, which resulted in the poor sales for her.
The fact that she’s still here acting like she was the founder and CEO of Jaclyn Cosmetics, even after everyone already knows morphe owned the brand and she had zero equity in it and was only the face, should really tell you everything you need to know 🤷♀️
Oh wow I didn't know this. So does she own it now? What's going on? I left the beauty community after Tati and her nonsense brought it down with all the drama. AND I have saved so much money!

I’m sorry but I feel really bad for Kalyn right now. You could have made it right. Your team reached out once and no response.... ok how about YOU should have reached out to make things right. Woman to woman. Agreed! I was so excited for her first palette drop but I noticed immediately after that her attitude change. She became more of a salesman than a beauty influencer. The jewelry and Koze brands I knew wouldn’t last. The price points alien were ridiculous. The jewerly was low quality crap at top cost

Essay incoming: People saying “don’t shut down your cosmetic line” she doesn’t have a say in the matter. She is not the actual owner. 😂 That’s why she “doesn’t know what will happen” to it. That’s probably the one honest thing she said the whole video. She’s only a contributor and she owns the trademark and licensed it to Forma.
She does not care about anyone but herself - which is obvious by saying her biggest regret in life is giving up on herself and her little girl dream? How about betraying your followers and putting mold on their lips and lying about it? Or how about stealing a brand from another creator only to throw it away 9 months later? Betraying a friend that tried to help you for money? Think there’s a lot more than gaining 40 lbs to be sorry about here.
Also Jaclyn, that is not what “Yes Men” are. They wouldn’t tell you to open up more brands, they would hype you up and tell you that was a good idea - they would say Yes to all of your bad ideas and not tell you the truth. It’s in the name?
Licensing doesn't give the other company ownership. Licenses expire. She owns the trademark aka the brand.

This is what I have been saying. I wish that Kalyn HAD fought her for Koze. Kalyn said she had lawyers telling her she would win the case and it wouldn’t cost her anything? Great! DO IT. I know you don’t want to, I wouldn’t either because it's also not my personality, but this is how the villains gain power. DO NOT allow someone to take advantage of your good nature. You need to stand up for yourself when it's the right thing to do, as uncomfortable as it may be. There is no reason to sacrifice all of your hard work over to someone like Jaclyn if you don’t have to.
I wish she would have fought for what she invested so much love and life into. Now Koze has just died out completely, and that's the real tragedy. It meant so much to Kalyn and now nobody has it.

I don’t think I’ve ever left a negative comment before but I feel strongly that while you’re taking accountability and that’s a good thing and didn’t research the name of one of your brands, the other creator is not a “small” creator and has over 1M followers and said they reached out to you not the other way around BEFORE you launched and didn’t get a response. That person experienced a lot of personal pain because they were not able to continue producing content and selling merchandise under that name any longer that they had used for years and that’s just not right. To new beginnings for everyone.
That's why I don't believe anything she says in this video. If she really wants to take accountability she needs to be truly honest and admit she has not been kind to others. She never reached out to kaitlyn the original koze owner... As a matter of fact she posted a nasty video in response that was of Jacilyn adding Koze brand owner to her instagram account and she also made that "at least they trademarked it" joke in a video a few months back almost mocking the poor girl for not trademarking it. Not to mention this girl had to completely rebrand and now it was all for nothing cause Jacilyn decided she doesn't want the name anymore. Sounds like something someone very entitled does.

Agreed! As a contract lawyer, I'm sure there are many legal reasons she can't share the whole truth. But at the end of the day, many of those lawyers are also hired by her and work FOR her, so she should be able to use their help and see how much she can truthfully disclose. As you point out, however, the real issue here is that she still doesn't seem to appreciate the important of full and honest disclosure.
The bare minimum steps needed for redemption must include a public apology to Kalyn, and Jaclyn should cover
100% of the fees for Kalyn’s unanticipated rebrand of All Things Koze.

People, with all due respect, that’s what she’s been doing this whole time. And damage was done, pain was caused, businesses were shut down….other peoples businesses.
Being kind and compassionate is what’s important.
The best thing Jaclyn can do is apologize to the people that she’s hurt. Surround herself with people that are good with business decisions and advice….not family members.
Be honest and real and down to earth instead of being showy and trying to make everyone believe life is perfect, marriage is perfect etc.

The original creator of Koze reached out to Jaclyn and Jaclyn did nothing… everything she’s saying here is just to save face, not to take accountability or because she feels bad about the people she’s stepped on trying to climb to the top.

Jaclyn Cosmetics still very much exists and is being sold at Ulta. It’s both in stores and online.
@@jonigomes9023 Some Ulta stores are no longer carrying it. In fact some of them even have her makeup on a sale because they are about to stop carrying it. You have to pay attention to whats happening, not just whats online or in stores. Products can be in store one day and out the next.

I have to agree with a lot of people with the Koze brand. It’s awful that you took that company from a mother with a newborn who had worked on that company forever. I never leave comments but this one got me pissed. I watched Kalyn video and I cannot believe that she didnt receive ANY COMPENSATION. UNBELIEVABLE! I'm new to this drama and I didn't know about this whole Koze brand situation because not only do I not buy from Jaclyn, but I don't know who the other girl Kalyn is. From reading the comments, I've seen that people are saying that Kalyn has been doing Koze for FIVE years now and that she had a loyal fan base and that her stuff was always sold out because it was popular amongst her fans. Trademarking a brand that is your LIVELIHOOD and PASSION is business 101. It's be bare basic common sense of business. It's not expensive to trademark something. ESPECIALLY if this brand is feeding your family. Why wouldn't she have spent the money from a few orders and trademark the name to protect herself? It's such basic common sense. I never wish any ill will on Jaclyn. She is a human being like all of us. We all have our shortcomings. But…there are some things she has done that have really rubbed me the wrong way .
THIS! I found her back in the early 2000s during her MAC days and instantly gravitated towards her. I literally credit her with teaching me how to do makeup. And like you said, I don't wish her ill will, but there was definitely a major shift at one point when she reallllyyy started to get big
