What really stands out to me is Jordan being by your side, before, when you were depressed, when you were drinking, when you weren't your best self. He still loved you and stayed by your side and encouraged you. And now you have come out on the other side. Its really hard to find this in a partner, someone who will adapt to your changes, will help you go through depression. Please stay with him forever, make it work always.

When I watched your first Jaclyn’s journey video I was a bartender & dating my ex who worked night life with me. We were drinking 4-5 nights a week together. I remember watching your video & I was like “ I want that I want to be sober. I want to lose my alcohol weight”. NOW I’m 250+ days sober. My year without is February 12th. I can’t wait to make it a year. I’m literally completely different now. You inspired that! You helped me want that for myself. I love you for it. & I cope by ordering mock tails at the bar. My fave bar has root beer floats with the IBC bottle root beer & everyone always tells me I’m cute with my mock tails lol. Hehe everyone is so supportive once they realize you really wanna go without it. I love it!!! We got this. Sober baddies.

I still get comments. I think I’m just kind of lucky because nothing I tried was even tolerable to my taste buds. It literally gagged me and/ or was so gross I couldn’t imagine taking another drink of whatever. I tried beer/ 🤢 tried various mixed drink 🤮 and shots 🤢🤮🤢🤮 Lordy some stuff went down and just came back up immediately. Then I married a man who became an alcoholic quickly and I saw what it does to people. Now 420 I did enjoy and justified it as everyone else drank so I’d smoke a doob with whomever: for me I just don’t want to pay money to feel like crap lol however I’m surrounded by addicts and I’ve now seen about everything just destroy people and their loved ones / life etc.

Whenever I'm in the store and I see people buying alcohol I think to myself "Put that POISON DOWN! IT'S K*LLING YOU!" At the end of 2020 I was diagnosed with alcoholic fatty liver disease after a life long battle with alcoholism and I KNEW that if I didn't stop drinking that I was gonna D*E! AND SOONER THAN LATER! Yes you CAN!!! I was in the same boat as you. I was drinking every night. I didn’t get wasted- but I counted on that head change. I looked forward to it. Then out of nowhere I started having a soreness where my liver is- turns out I have fatty liver disease (likely caused by alcohol). I was not happy about it..but I said “ok today I’m not going to drink”. And the next day I said the same. And the next. I’m going on 4 months sober. The first week was ROUGH because I felt so bored..but In those moments I would try and go for a walk or even just go on tik tok. Anything to distract myself. With time it got easier and now I feel better than ever.
I just wanted to share with you because if I can do it, so can you!! Your kiddos need you! Alcohol is just a big lie..it’s a temporary relief. I believe in you and I’m already proud of you for thinking about making a change!

Another RN here (Oncology specialty). Alcohol is an actual toxin and it is very heavy on your liver. One way someone can die from alcohol is cirrhosis which is liver failure. This alone is enough to harm somebody but it can then turn into liver cancer. Alcohol in general increases your risk to any cancer since it is a literal toxin. Somebody can develop pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, stomach cancer and even breast cancer. The unfortunate thing about cancer is if you do not find it soon enough it will spread and it spreads FAST.
Another way someone can die from alcohol is alcohol poisoning/overdose which is basically consuming too much in one sitting. Our liver and kidneys can only filter so much alcohol so when one pushes it to their body's max, organ failure will occur. This can happen even if someone has NO history of alcoholism.
Alcoholism is also linked to high blood pressure and obesity which can cause serious heart problems and even heart failure with enough time. @@DiamondeInTheRough

My husband came looking for me and found me unconscious on the couch out back by the fire pit with a random man on top of me. My husband and three of his friends beat the living hell out of my unknown rapist. we didn’t know him or where he came from. This is so special - I hope you cherish this video for a long time! Alcohol is such a poison, I stopped drinking after my kids and I ONLY drank occasionally. This was years ago before more people were going sober, and I felt like I had a problem every time I told someone I didn’t drink because of the judgment. It’s so amazing to me how acceptable drinking is, or how people push alcohol on others.

Much love to you 💛 I’m a career bartender, and I can genuinely say that this is the year where I’ve seen the most colleagues/guests going on alcohol fasts. Also the mocktail/non-alcoholic trend is growing and will be the future, imo. Whenever I have a guest at my bar who is sober, I try to make their experience just as pleasurable as I would for those who order any regular cocktail. I’ve realized that social gatherings are more about a feeling (celebration, escape of reality, coping, chilling with homies) and alcohol has always been perceived as a vehicle to get there. The science is undeniable, overconsumption of alcohol is detrimental to one’s health. While I myself enjoy the taste of alcohol and have studied it for the past decade due to my job, I am currently sober and agree more people would be so much happier if they could at least take breaks from alcohol. Our current society is glamorizing the “wine moms” and the happy hours, and I wish we can just go back to valuing the company of the people we go out with (even if it’s just our own company). I can go in about this topic but I’ll leave it here- thanks for coming to my Ted talk 🤣 and congrats Jac!! ✨

I have heard for my entire adult life how I don’t know how to have fun, I don’t relax and enjoy life. Drinkers don’t know to enjoy, relax and just have fun without the DRUG, bc that is what ALCOHOL is. A substance that alters your system and controls your emotions. Good for you Jaclyn. Since that last drink, I have drank once after giving birth because i felt like it was something all moms “look toward to” after being pregnant but I decided it drinking was just no longer for me. I only drink socially but I realize my relationship with drinking is still not healthy. There’s not 1-2 drinks for me. It’s all or nothing. So nothing it is! I also just need to be all “there” for my son now, I can’t afford for something to happen and I’m drunk and not in the right mind to get to him or take care of him.

    I’m SOOO EMOTIONALLL
I met you a few months ago in Hyde park, it had to be right before you decided to make this change, and i was being a mess and for you at that time to still take the time to listen to me and give me hugs when you probably weren’t in a place to be “on” means SO much to me
I love that you talked about this and made this decision before your alcohol problem needed rehab, instead of saying you were fine until you were fully broken, and that’s a testament to the people around you too.
It’s not going to be right now (I’m not ready 😭 I think you probably know how that feels from this video) but I KNOW you will be the reason I break from alcohol soon. Whether or not my partner or friends want to do it with me. I’m gonna do it for me.
I really related with the way you talked about thinking all this emotion makes people exhausted to be around me or feel like they misunderstand me, but I think I use alcohol too much to stop thinking and stop feeling because I thought it made me a burden to feel too much. I don’t feel alone in that anymore, so thank you Jaclyn!!!

You know this is just what I needed. I quit alcohol on November 1st. Even though I had a bad day yesterday, not once did I reach for any alcohol. And currently my coworkers are doubting me. They think I'll go back to alcohol because I've been drinking since I was 21. I'm 26 now. I want to be sober when I start dating. Even though the dating pool sucks right now. I would always use alcohol as my escape from reality even hoped to a point it would take me out of help deal with my social anxiety. But I did not like those hangovers I got. After what happened on Halloween night I decided the next morning that I wasn't going to touch alcohol because it took me two days to recover fully and that messed with my work days. My sober date is January 7,th 2021 so it's been almost 3 years for me too! I never in my wildest dreams thought I could ever give up drinking but at the end of 2020 I was diagnosed with alcoholic fatty liver disease and I KNEW if I didn't quit drinking, I WAS GONNA D*E AND SOONER THAN LATER! I live a life beyond my wildest dreams now and I don't miss drinking at all! I'm actually disgusted by alcohol now! Way to go on almost 3 years! #wedorecover

YOU GO, GIRL! I am so, so, so, so SO proud of you and happy for you! My mom decided on her own to go to rehab last fall at the age of 65 after 40+ years of severe alcoholism. I am so proud to say she recently hit her 1 year sober mark! Having seen the path you could have walked, I can literally see her saying "You go, girl!" We're cheering for you. And p.s. you seem so much like yourself in your earlier content and I love seeing you this joyful!

Ugh. Finishing my master's degree and I've never been so unhealthy (aka, drinking every day - not to the point of intoxication, but that "I need a drink" because of the stress). This video inspired me, so thank you so much for being so honest

I haven’t had an issue with alcohol because I’m not a huge drinker, but I will say I had a self proclaimed coke/pepsi addiction. Like couldn’t go a day without it without feeling like total garbage. One month ago I completely stopped drinking ANY soda just a coffee in the morning and water through the rest of the day. Coming out of that mental fog has been incredible, and I sleep so much better now. Keep going girl! You’ve got this! I’ve been watching you for YEARS and I’m so proud of you ❤️

You don’t know how much this helps others (myself included) I started the same journey 3 weeks ago, some days are wayyyy harder than others..I have the same questions about myself like “will I still be fun to hang out with” . But to hear where you are 3 months in gives me excitement about myself at the 3 month mark. 🙏

Screaming with joy!! 9 months sober here and I've been saying the same EXACT thing. Life/The fun actually begins when you stop drinking. I have done more in these 9 months than I did in the last 5 years. I lost 20 pounds and have become my true self. I feel like I could talk to you for hours about this! Thank you for sharing this with the world. We need to make alcohol free a normal thing! Love you!💓

I had to stop drinking due to medication and never realized how much of a problem I had with alcohol until that happened. It now has been 6 months and at times it's still difficult but you do start to feel so much better. You can see all the inflammation in your face has gone away. I'm so proud of you.

Instantly within a few seconds I’m like “hmmm that hubby support though😍👏🏻👌🏻”. It’s insane how well your hard work pays off, but it’s also insane how much putting in the effort to ensure you surround yourself with the right family and friends pays off too. Can’t wait for the rest of your video and to see your journey. Thank you for being so transparent. As I typed that word (transparent) out, you said it in your video I love it so much. Congratulations girl!!!

This video is the most inspiring thing you ever put out on CZcams. I know I have a problem with alcohol the past couple of years and been debating heavily to quit altogether but it’s hard. You have definitely motivated me to turn to a healthier lifestyle.

Started bawling while watching this on the treadmill😭 So happy and proud of you!
I grew up with my mom being a binging alcoholic. Things got even worse after we lost my Dad to Covid in 2021. My mom lost everything and was pretty much homeless when she decided to get help. She is now 8 months sober and has grown so much. I feel like I am meeting the best version of her finally and I’m so proud💙
This has really inspired me to stay sober. I’ve only ever been a social drinker because I felt like I wouldn’t be fun otherwise. I always felt like crap for days-weeks after or worried that I said or did something dumb. With having addiction in my family I always felt like I could at any time trigger that addictive quality in myself. It’s really not worth it🖤 Thank you for being open and honest!

This is among your most inspiring videos, and it really seems like you're just headed for better and better. Giving up poison will only make your mind and body healthier. It really feels like your whole journey was leading up to this journey specifically. Congrats Jaclyn, keep at it, don't ever go back.

So happy for you Jaclyn! You are glowing. I’ve known for a year now that I want to stop drinking but anxiety about social situations had prevented me from going all in. This is exactly what I needed to motivate me and remind me it can be done. I’m going to start today! Excited to follow your journey!!

They don't call liquor spirits for no reason. You said it, doom and gloom. It's also a depressant. I'm fighting my own thing. You look absolutely beautiful! Your face looks more sculpted! I'm thrilled for you 💗

This is amazingly incredible Jaclyn. Alcohol is so accepted. I stopped drinking 5 years ago and I’m at my lowest weight ever. Even pre high school weight, I’ve never felt better and I love this for you!!

Really proud that you shared this. It’s extremely admirable. I decided to get sober on January 1st because I felt like alcohol was controlling me and I wanted to take control back over my life and I’ve legit never felt better. It was SO HARD at first, but now it doesn’t even phase me. It doesn’t bring/nor produce anything positive for me, so why bother? My goal is to hit 1 year 🎉 Cheers to all my sober queens killing it out there! We’re doing the damn thing 🔥

Omg you are AMAZING!!!! Congrats!!!! I am going on 4 months sober here and I agree it was so frickin hard at first. I leave next weekend for a trip to an all-Inclusive in Mexico that I booked when I was still drinking (and I planned this trip with the mindset of- “ooh I can drink as much as I want!”) so I’m a bit nervous to be in that position environment. Hopefully it goes okay!
