- 2023 marks 10 years since David Suchet completed filming all the original Poirot stories written by Dame Agatha Christie. The series had been a fixture on ITV in the UK as well as internationally for 25 years, and came to a close with a brilliant and near-perfect adaptation of "Curtain: Poirot's Last Case".
Still celebrated and repeated all over the world, I know how much David's portrayal remains the perfect one for many fans, myself included. I had always been intrigued by one of the final trailers they put out in 2013 to celebrate the series, which inspired me to create this one. The eagle-eyed viewers will notice I was heavily influenced by it, but I tried to make this one more filmic, in a way. I also thought it would serve as the perfect antidote to some of the duller ones out there -- I leave it to you dear viewers, which adaptations to include in the above sentence.
And so, what do I come away with after a good few hours of rewatching and editing? I still think it's one of the best television series ever made. David Suchet's Poirot is unmatched, and he had a perfect cast around him which included Hugh Fraser, Philip Jackson, Pauline Moran, Zoë Wanamaker and David Yelland -- all of which made the series even more brilliant. There'll be more Poirots in future for sure, but I for one will always come back to this one.
I hope you enjoy this one.

The early series really deserve a separate trailer. Other than Suchet they have nothing in common with the dark, pretentious, moralizing, humorless, cynical, rosary clutching exercises that followed.
In the later episodes Poirot begins to become disillusioned and bitter, which also comes with age. Everybody's changing. Even Poirot.
